If you go lunge+q. melee+swing (without emot cancel) it is even faster, the real power of emot cancel is not the damage alone but the mobility that spamming dash+lunge gives you, making you extremely hard to hit.

Nah its not faster. Even if you Lunge , Melee and cancel thd animation by gadgetswapping and lastly swing its still not faster than emote canceling.
Yeah I hear the mobility argument every time and my answer to it is all the time:
That little momentum you get from the lung wont safe you from anyone who has good aim. You always go in the direction you are facing, therefore very predictable and people always just ignore the fact that after canceling you are still charging a lunge for half a second likely without cover while getting shot and it even slows you down.
What i do is, I superdash past someone to deal 140 and end up behind cover where i dont take any damage and can charge another. Maybe my team even finishes him off in the meantime, could also reposition or wait for a push. Why should I try to bruteforce a kill when I have only 150 HP?
And when I have to, i rather just start sliding into any direction I want while still in the animation, jump at the end of it and move just as fast, without getting slowed and I am actually hard to hit.
But what do I know as almost Top 1000 player who only plays soloq .
      tl:dr
Emote cancel is just really good at destroying bad players with bad aim and bad positioning which this game has plenty of and thats why it should be removed tbh yes. Its definitely not op tho xd

If its such a small difference, no harm in removing it then. I'm not saying make the sword trash, but they should probably rework it to make it fun and viable without having to use 3rd party software to bind a key to mouse wheel bound to emote... The devs probably have better things to be doing right now though, like let us queue for multiple selectable game modes simultaneously to reduce overall queue times so the player-count doesn't suffer.
I use a 3rd party crosshair: CrossOver by lacy. 100% opacity on the in-game crosshair is really more like 70% opacity, making the crosshair less visible/faded. Rather than banning people who use 3rd party crosshair or builtin monitor crosshair, why not simply add good crosshair options, problem solved. They better not ban me for wanting to be able to see my crosshair, I would perma-rage-quit.

Oh yeah I dont mind it that much if its getting removed. You can do the same with gadget swapping but also its overrated, but its still a nerf to some degree but more importantly, it reduces the depth of the weapon.
to the 2nd part, no one was ever banned for a 3rd party crosshair. Obviously because that would be unfair treatment (overlay vs monitor).
Confirmed it by reporting myself a month ago.

@@Gressil8020 I don't think you understand, emoting canceling is more than just ttk improvement. It buffs movement a lot in fights. but I agree sword should probably be more viable without emote cancel then they could remove it without 50% of the sword community quitting

this my more recent video on that topic, again just breaking down the numbers and then showing how to actually make you hard to hit.
The lunge doesnt make you hard to hit at all. You literally slow down while charging and holding and a mini baby-dash into 1 direction which is easily trackable wont compensate for that.
I play sniper as my 2nd weapon and I win almost all my duels against swords if they get close, because they arent hard to hit at all most of the time. So they either instantly eat a stun or they getting kited.
