Another great video Frank! Interestingly one of the longer running and well known ramen places in Sydney is also called Gumshara and does the same style of super heavy tonkotsu. Loved it when I was in uni but I can't handle it these days. Amazed you ate the bowl so quickly, wow.
Keep doing what you are doing dude. Never been to Japan but its my dream so I am thankful I have a visual guide to know where to go when I do get to Japan. You are doing God's work good Sir and I thank you.
I like the "tavelogue" parts, more please! Ramen... Hmmmm.... difficult to choose through a screen, I think that today I'd go with the old school style, it's been one of those days that it'd hit the spot.
They have a branch of Gumshara in Sydney and yeah, there is a slight funk to it. It's pretty good if eaten sparingly. I went to the original Muteppou in Tokyo after the pandemic and was so disappointed when i found out they had converted to a tsukemen only shop, since their ramen was perfect imo. The frothy second bowl also reminded me of a Tori Paitan bowl i had in Rotterdam yesterday from Ramen Nikkou. It's great when these Japanese brands branch out. I get to show the locals in Europe how bad their local brands are lol.
In April I went to Osaka to try the mousse chicken ramen... But when I arrived I saw a sign on the door saying "Due to injury the shop is closed." 😭 So Instead I went to the chukasoba uemachi. Sadly I will probably not be going to Osaka in the near future to try out the ramen I missed. Next time I will be heading North...
One of the great english ramen guides. Just found your youtube. Glad you kept reviewing eventhough the website is less active
Great video ! Editing really stood out in this one.
my dream is to go on 1-month Japanese ramen tour. I already eat it every day, so I know I won't get sick of it.
Tori Paitan is like a chicken Tonkotsu. Spot on description! Great video thanks

The third place is marked "Nara gamushara (Butanohone)" on the map. Nice descriptions, Frank. Thanks!

Frank, the picture for Men Leads Nakano on gmaps doesn't look at all like the one in your vid. Is this an editing miscue or is something amiss?
Hey Frank! What's your personal top 5 tonkotsu ramen in Japan?
The first one.
Where can I get good tantanmen ramen in fukuoka
Too much talking.
