I like quick deck techs. But what I do notice is most of your content is within a 15-minute span which is nice. What I'm noticing is the first 5 minutes of most of your videos is your intro. I love your show and I learn a lot from it you and Eddie keep the spice flowing in my playgroup.
Ill forgive the 12 minute run time compared to the 10 min...I kid Iove your videos and insight and I'm always learning about older cards I didnt know about...future me commenting on old me, I was wrong...nailed the time limit
I love your videos and deck techs and maybe a lot to hope for but I hope you do deck techs for all the commanders for capenna. This ended up being my favorite set and cant wait to see what you will do with some of the commanders from it. Thanks as always and have a good one
15-20mins is the perfect amount of time. It gives a little breathing room to discuss combos, synergies, and maybe even some quick upgrade you'd recommend that aren't budget. Regardless I'll be watching them all. 😀
I feel like the ramp in the beginning should include more dorks. They’re ramp and they’re creatures and can get a decent size once there are enough creatures out.
@@davestier6247 Yeah you definitely want dorks, but I always like to diversify my ramp so that it's not 100% reliant on one type of ramp. I have 5-6 dorks in my Jetmir deck and the rest of the slots are from sol ring and your obligatory nature's lore, farseek, three visits, cultivate&reach, etc.
I know this is a year old and whatnot, but after having this commander in rotation long enough to know, dorks over spells 100%! Also, this deck definitely doesn't need that many board wipes, if your opponents have them, they will use theirs to deal with you, taking everyone else along with them. There's almost never a situation where building a GIANT board and then destroying them all to make things even feels like a good choice.
I loved the video, it helped me find new cards to add to my deck, and gave me an idea of why certain things work better. I hadn't thought about creature ramp being more efficient before now. One thing I would say is I personally think Avenger of Zendikar works better than Phylath where it creates a token for every land you control rather than just basics. Many decks are trying to play a lot of nonbasic lands
I actually really like the 30 minute deck techs but it’s mainly because I’m addicted to your content. The shorter more concise format is cool too and I could see how that might attract more viewers. Whichever method leads to you being able to make more deck tech videos is great with me. Your deck techs really turned me on to budget decks. It’s great being able to purchase more cards and still have a really fun and synergistic deck. Thanks for that!
Jetmir is crazy strong. He makes penny cards like Verdant Embrace, Increasing Devotion, Battle for Bretagard, and Release the Dogs absolute bombs and makes token staples like Tendershoot Dryad even more insane. A budget version of Jetmir is able to win games turn 5, 6, 7. An optimized list can kill a player turn 3 and win turn 4.
Honestly Mitch, I like this new setup. A bit more straightforward, easy to digest, especially for us with jobs that require a lot of travel. My only observation is that, while I love that you lay out each relevant card in the deck, I don't think you need to read every single card. You could read off/explain the mechanic, and then group cards that functionally fill the same role together with it. But otherwise, always appreciate your uploads. It's a great resource when I don't feel like dropping a ton of money on new singles or staples.
I think he does this for people who are only listening, but I wonder where he can draw the line between thoroughness for new players and not reading familiar cards. That said, he MUST always read Wayfarer's Bauble, when it makes its way back into decks.
Hey Mitch! I have been watching your vids, and I'm really talking your focused approach to deck building to heart, and it's really helping me cut cards that I've had trouble cutting in the past! Thanks for all the great content!
Just in case anyone is interested, I ordered this exact deck. I only changed one card, it was the daybound/nightbound card, I can’t remember the name, but I don’t like playing day/night so I swapped it for a Prosperous Innkeeper. What I’ve learnt with this deck is, the most common way of winning is surprising your opponents with Sylvan Awakening, Rude Awakening or Kamahl’s Will. Even with just having 5 or so creatures on the board, all of a sudden you have 10-15 creatures all having double strike and trample with +3/+0. People do target Jetmir though! Edit: I just rewatched this and realised these cards were in the finale so guess I should have realised they were the winning cards!
I pulled a Jetmir from the Cabaretti Theme pack I bought and was crazy excited as I began looking between the theme packs I bought, thr bundle I had lurchased, and the pre-made commander. May tweak slightly, but I made the deck focus into Alliance (the main Cabaretti ability) to summon 1/1 Green White Citizens, Scute Swarm, and a card called Life of the Party, which has X power when played, with X being the creatures you control. Plus it has haste and gives everyine a copy of itself. With that token being the 9th card on a turn I was planning a Swing, I ended up having a Jetmir field with a few creatures that was swinging for 56 with Trample and Double Strike (which, if I’m right, means 112 damage? I have ran certain things incorrectly before, since I JUST discovered you can tap artifacts on the turn they are played)
Well done. Next time, take a little more time like 15mins bc then you have time to breathe. :) Also, would always add Helm of the Host to Jetmir-decks for obvs reasons but it might not be budjet.
Remove Song of the Worldsoul. Populte is to week of a mechanic in this deck, because even a 1/1 becomes a threat with Jetmir. No need for poluating Beasts or Rhinos
The only part I don’t love is that I HAVE to build a fourth go wide deck in Naya now. I’m trying to build up a few more focused/lower power or budget decks. Marisi and Rin’n’Seri are a 45:54:45 modular pretty optimized thing and I have the Cabaretti precon, for precon nights. Previously my lowest power was a $200 budget-ish Wasitora dragon tribal, where the only cards more than $10 is Chromatic Lantern and Utvara Hellkite (my first deck entirely in paper since I started) But I prefer more optimized play and my group is very proxy friendly.
By putting a hard time limit on your videos, i feel like it leads you to feeling rushed unnecessarily. I agree with the other comment that says 15-20 mins seems to be the sweet spot. Either way, i will still be a regular viewer!
You ever get the feeling that Wizards is just throwing keywords together for their card names? Like, how many “nexus” and “revel” cards do we have? And why is a person a “nexus of revels”?
Well, a nexus is "A connection or series of connections linking two or more things" or "The central and most important point or place". Given that Jetmir is the leader of the Cabaretti, the family dedicated to making connections and essentially ruling over the entertainment industry, it does kind of make sense that he would be the central point of connections since he's always throwing massive parties that bring people together
I do love this format, but I feel you should give yourself a few extra minutes. Maybe 15. That would warrant you time to explain and give you a chance to breathe. Either way, I'll be staying tuned for your content always. Thank you, Mitch
Hey everyone! I would love your feedback on this new style of episode! Constructive criticism is always welcome! Hope you enjoy it!

I’m enjoying this style. I watch a couple of your vids a day right now and the shorter length is appreciated

Strong agree, in this particular shell dorks>ramp spells. It does however make a deck that is already weak to sweepers even weaker to sweepers.

Rhys, the redeemed would work well in this deck too. He’s a lot more price friendly now than when I bought him years ago.
I actually added him! lol
Tech techs are the best things you do on this channel. Any variation of that is a hit
The first card I put in mine was scute swarm
I ordered all these cards yesterday, thanks for the deck lists!
Great deck tech, Mitch! :)
Loved this format Mitch. This deck looks super fun!
Man i luv it soo fast soo budget friendly .Awesome work Mitch keep it up
First you budgeted costs, and now your budgeting time!

Really good suggestions considering budget
1 dollor and well as 10 minutes or less! Mitch making content or hard mode lol I love this format man keep it coming 👍
It was sad, but I finally had to replace Gahiji, Honored One. This guy is just better in every way.
I bought the aristcrat Minsc deck a while back and looking at this Jetmir video, I might switch commanders or add jet into the 99.
Watching this at 1.25 speed also made it faster without it sounding "chipmunky" as well.
Would love to see a deck tech on Xander - clones. I have a build atm but would love to see your take
So I have a question if you had the ability to design your own set what themes and unique mechanics would you put in there?
Well done. Next time, take a little more time like 15mins bc then you have time to breathe. :)
Also, would always add Helm of the Host to Jetmir-decks for obvs reasons but it might not be budjet.
I like the shorter videos, it allows us to consume more content. Also the word coup is pronounced "coo" it's French the P is silent.
This card would run agmazing with Jennie fay, jetties second. All the 1/1 creatures you can put into play as 2/2 cats with haste.
That looks very fun to play!
I love to play Mycoloth, what would remove to put a Mycoloth instead?
Remove Song of the Worldsoul. Populte is to week of a mechanic in this deck, because even a 1/1 becomes a threat with Jetmir. No need for poluating Beasts or Rhinos
How about Storm Herd? I know it's a lot of mana but the payoff can be amazing.
I love this!

I enjoyed this overall, but I feel like 10 minutes was too short, maybe like 12 minutes or something just so that things are a little less rushed
Realistically, the only deck tech you need for Jetmir is to add him to the 99 of Rin and Seri.
Although not budget friendly, Elspeth, Sun's Champion would be a great addition to this deck.
By putting a hard time limit on your videos, i feel like it leads you to feeling rushed unnecessarily. I agree with the other comment that says 15-20 mins seems to be the sweet spot. Either way, i will still be a regular viewer!
Yeah but what about Jetmir cat tribal?
Wheres avenger of zendikar?
Over $1
Wait, no Sol Ring? 😮
