I highly recommend the BBC Wartime farm. I found it here on RUclips. Its a series about 3 historians recreating the war time conditions in rural Britain. It is lovely to watch in the same way British Baking show is. And it helps bring out that "Keep calm and carry on", "Make do and Mend", "Is this trip really necessary " spirit. That made several other versions as well and I recommend them just as highly. All family friendly but keep in mind while not shown it is a farm and animals will be "voted off the island "
Adam just gave me an idea for a science fiction story. In a world after humans have disappeared, the toilet paper factories keep working, and the world is slowly buried under mountains of unused toilet paper rolls.
I think the toilet paper stocking thing started in Asia - false rumours went around saying because of the virus in China, toilet paper production would cease, so everyone started panic buying toilet paper (specifically in Hong Kong).
I live in Tokyo and the Toilet Paper issue was spawned from a rumor that the supply of Toilet paper for Japan was coming out of factories in China and with china on absolute lockdown and nobody able to work in those factories the current stock of toilet paper in Japan was dwindling and going to run out therefore everyone bought up a TON of toilet paper without need. News reported that japanese toilet paper is made in japan and there is no shortage or issue but the news was spreading on social media and people didnt pay attention. Its getting better now but its shifted reasoning abroad which I find odd.
I've been house bound for the last four weeks, because of sciatica. Now I really need to go back to work, and I'm worried if it's worth the risk. The problem is, the bank account is almost empty and as an electrician, I can't work from home. So I risk taking public transit to get to work, and I've no idea who's been sick on the train or at work
I was in a walmart when a guy coughed right in my face without trying to cover it at all. I almost turned around and yelled at him but I didnt want to get in a fight with someone who's coughing. Some people are so goddamned selfish.
I live in Japan. The reason Japan panic bought toilet paper was because someone started a rumor that we got it from China so because of coronavirus they cut the supply chain. Even if not necessarily the tp itself people thought we got paper supply from China. After the local paper companies told them it wasn't true it normalized and It's ok now.
Moved and set out this year to actually look for work, now to spend some time in the house again Wish I could have a chat with Adam one day, as much of an idea of what to talk about as how much toilet paper is left in stores
thank you very much guys for keeping the Podcast going,, Here I am on my first Quarantine day in Quito Ecuador, Thank you very much. cheers and stay safe..

If the guys of tested want to try and find that somewhere to pass time that would be great :D, from the bits i saw it's so sad, yet parts leave you with hope. In Norway parents in some towns have decided to let their kids play together. However, they restrict control who plays together on a family level. So the Petersons, the Uglums and the Nordmanns are allowed to play together and the Hansons, the Nilsons, and the Grettis are alowed to play together. And then they share the load when it comes to watching them. That way if the Petersons get ill, so do the Uglums and the Nordmanns. However, the Hansons and co. will be fine. I know it is a risk. Though it is a calculated one. I do not have children myself, but I do belive it is a good way to get more families to take the whole thing more seriously and give the kids something to do.

Excellent job guys. It is nice of you to "call us" and chat about stuff when you find time. I assume we are several nerds here. So maybe some people enjoy a bit of chess. The candidates' tournament has just finished for today. I want to say that Magnus Carlsen, Peter Svidler, Lawrence Trent and Jan Gustafsson were live-casting their video-conference talking about the moves, funny histories from chess, analyses etc - LIVE for 6 hrs every day. (They do it without computer evals - bantering each other for silly suggestions as they keep track on all 4 games being played. So it is a nice break to see something live and happening now without it all being about a virus). They start tomorrow again at 10.30 UTC With Vladimir Kramnik, Lawrence Trent and Jan Gustafsson at Chess24's youtube channel. A good time to brush up on the old game. Carlsen has also live broadcasted himself playing and commenting with amateurs from around the world (like yesterday for 90 minutes - just to spread some entertainment in these times of isolation - search for "Magnus Carlsen Banter Blitz" as it is a wonderful view into the brain of a bona fide living genius. Here in Norway all bars, restaurants, hairdressers (pretty much everything except grocery stores) are closed. We are still free to take.a stroll or jog or walk the dog etc as long as we do not group up. So bring the camera. Use it as an interesting idea to get fresh air and avoid other public. Since towns and cities looks kind of interesting now, almost completely devoid of human presence. "Isolated street photo". A nice way to jog the body and mind during these boring and long days for us who are not in hard curfew. (Maybe "Still Untitled" should record and report tips of what to do during our near global self-distancing effort)? And put Adam on the job of self-curating own "one-hour build videos" that can be tried by us at home without the need to buy a lot of stuff at Wallmart first for us without a private shop?) #Wash hands, remove one cog from the pandemic gearbox by distancing and be good.

Please watch and review Avenue 5. It started off silly but it's become easily my favourite show right now. It feels like if America was stuck on a spaceship
I watched a bunch of movies I had parked for later viewing.... Solis , Netflix. Steven Ogg of GTA V fame (or shame) pretty much solos this space pod survival movie. Stand out CGI and particle effects checking the realism box. The Three Musketeers (1974), a whimsical light hearted treatment. It was fun revisiting this restored release. Careful attention should be given to the sound design. It's hilarious at times. Devs on Hulu. Spot the fractal. And I nearly fell off my chair when a character is seen reading "Colossus". I really need to rewatch the movie "Colossus: The Forbin Project". That story really is the progenitor of the theme in Devs and Westworld S3. Would we give up the illusion of free will for guaranteed nurturing, wellbeing, a clean and managed environment. And time to build a new workbench of course.

We need to find all the people in the pocket of Big Toilet Paper and flush them out!
Is the studio at Norm's house?
Our local TP-factory actually had a substantial fire yesterday..... sooo..... yeah...
Shit is lit! at least the paper....
me and 10 of my friends got on minecraft last night thru discord! discord is a great platform and social distancing isnt hard if you know how to do it right & still get some human interaction!!
also... when will we be getting an Adam Savage's Tested Discord Server??? there is a need.
sinds my school has cloosed for the forsiable futer i can't do my woodworking practical time in, and i don't have a home workshop or the ability to make one, i am going to get a lot of work done worldbuilding for my DND game. shouild be a lot of fun.
Its called The Bullwhip Effect
Where's the contents list? did they talk about VR?
I have anxiety and depression, i don't leave the house for sometimes a month inbetween doc visits, so this is totally in my wheelhouse.... nothing changes for me......... I'm in in Aus we are doing pretty good here, except for toilet paper..... what's the go with that....... why is tp the first thing to go..... people are punching on in supermarkets over toilet paper
Just watched pod cast , it was Great to see you all as usual, I have idea for next pod cast , each of you should do pod cast wearing one of Adam's space suits.. 🤖
Right now I'm so fucking glad to have Depression. I wasn't out of my house since the start of the year, besides buying stuff to live... So for me, it isn't that much different, but I see it in my parents that they have a harder time to come by
Will had the single finest camera, lighting and background look I've seen in a long time.
Molina is quite funny as the major bureaucrat in Big Bang -- as opposed to the big serious of WW.
Looking for some weird escapism? Find "Mr. Right." Of surprising depth.
Good show.
I’m in isolation at the moment. A week of not going anywhere because I was told by the doctor. In the Uk we got a serious case of panic buying TOILET ROLLS! I don’t get it at all. Food yes! But loo rolls?
And put Adam on the job of self-curating own "one-hour build videos" that can be tried by us at home without the need to buy a lot of stuff at Wallmart first for us without a private shop?)
#Wash hands, remove one cog from the pandemic gearbox by distancing and be good.
Great advice Adam,, 2 podcast ago Kish happened to say this is like a cold, and like you said today as it should have been said 2 podcast ago,,,nobody knows!
So to whoever reads this I hope everyone including your families, parents and grand parents stay healthy and safe,
I Appreciate you Guys.
✌🏻🖖🏻👊🏻
Adam is touching his eyes and face so much it makes me go crazy
Interstellar is a movie I love being inside of, over and over again!
Thank you for continuing your show! It’s a cleansing experience ;-)
Not much has changed for me! Working from home for the last 7 years!
I've been watching Devs, the new 8 episode mini series from Alex Garland, creator of Ex Machina and Annihilation. Been thrilling so far, would highly recommend.
Is it weird that my first encounter with Catherine O'Hara was in Home Alone...?
Haywire with Gina Carano! I had completely forgotten about it! I saw it near when it came out, after its theater run, thanks to my dad who loves action movies, and I loooooved it. Absolutely gets a thumbs-up from me
Great movie! No doubt the main reason she got cast in Deadpool.
I saw this posted in a different comments section somewhere.
Someone needs to make a video titled "101 alternatives to toilet paper."
Cody Lundin posted an update on Facebook about that very subject.
"The Machine Stops" can't be too far away.
Stay safe everyone - thinking of you from New Zealand where things are still nearly normal.
1917 is the only movie that i have felt physically exhausted afterwards.
For everyone thinking a trip to mars would be nice this is a good way to partially simulate that isolation.
Loving that SPOILER light :) , made my week. Hope it's useful for when you get around to westworld !!
I stopped @ 4:30 in this video. I love this podcast and haven’t missed an episode in 4 years. With respect I can’t listen if reminds me of the mess we’re in right now.
Please watch and review Avenue 5. It started off silly but it's become easily my favourite show right now. It feels like if America was stuck on a spaceship
Recommendation for re-titling this episode
"Its Kicking my Face's Ass!"
Have y'all watched/discussed Jojo Rabbit? So good! Taika Waititi is such a great filmmaker
Loved this, great info!
can i request?
can you make AEG Airsoft?
Adam, please do a long one day build!!
I have in fact made toilet paper. But it was in an old factory that doesn´t exist anymore
Feel like I'm at an online meeting
I heard Disney+ will be releasing Rise of Skywalker early due to Covid 19
32:00 Which is why he did that skit on SNL.
And time to build a new workbench of course.
my friends last year .................you're mad to be a prepper!!!
me this year ..............who's the mad man now lol!!!!!
Yeah man feels GREAT to have that laugh at the nay sayers finally.
Still mad to be a prepper. People are fine >.>
Why is will still part of this?
What can you do... contribute your GPU/CPU cycles and a bit of your power bill to Folding@Home They have a SARS-COV-2 project as a priority when choosing "any disease"
That really sounds sketchy, to allow someone else to run programs on my computer without me knowing what they are doing.
@@Khronogi this is not some programs. This is specific computational jobs. How protein folds etc. They also work on other diseases. Basically if scientists need supercomputers for simulation or computation jobs they prepare work units and those get distrubuted across folding at home clients. Works similarly to seti at home
