Thank you Adam, Norm and Will for talking so openly about the state of your mental health. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one struggling with my mental health at the moment. Thanks guys!
After working at home for three weeks, I just got furloughed for six weeks. So yes, yesterday was a damn bad day. And today I have an NPR interview. Thank goodness it won’t be live, especially because I’ve had about 4 hours of sleep. So I’m identifying with you all, sounding good on air when you don’t feel like it. Thank you very much for being there for us all, you guys! You provide a vital service.
@@zyxwvut4740 Thank you! I just hope the furlough will end when they think it will. A lot of non-profits are competing for not a lot of money. Our development department is working flat out.
With the depression and mood swings people are experiencing in quarantine people are now experiencing what it’s like to be Bi-polar. Waking up the lowest and most depressed you have ever been. Becoming randomly depressed during the day. Having random bursts of hyperactivity like mania. Little tiny things setting you off into a uncontrollable rage.
Remember what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. We as a species are going to be stronger in many ways as a result of these times. Keep soldiering on brothers and sisters and don't give up.
I know this is an old episode now but it's good to see you talk about depression. I have had to deal with it for many years, like a lot of people do. For a long time I thought it was about getting good at dealing with the utter despair of it when it happens. I was wrong, the most important part is keeping your mind trained so those episodes happen less and less and your more protected against sliding back into those bad times. Obviously everyone has different triggers and sometimes it's unavoidable but I think it's a good lesson to share.
OMG! Thank all of you for normalizing two things. First talking about emotional/mental illnesses. You help us realize we all struggle and that doesn't make us weak. And second dude's talking about feeling! Heroes of our time! Bonus points for Will Wheaton "Hilarious World of Depression' quote.
It’s so damn reassuring to hear other people struggling with their day to day mental health: makes me feel much better in myself knowing I’m far from alone. Thank you boys for being so up front about this.
As a person Diagnosed with major depression, and possible schizophrenia. I self isolate as a defense Mechanism, so i really feel for people who are being forced to deal with this situation with no preparation. for me this is just the norm though, so i have found my self forced/trying to be kinder to the people in my vicinity.
A friend's mother has Alzheimer's and lives in a nursing home. Because of shelter in place, my friend hasn't been able to see her mother for almost a month now when normally she sees her every day. It breaks my heart knowing so many people are going through similar right now. (Thankfully, I have zero difficulties with self quarantine. I have never had a problem finding things to do indoors, and I stocked up well at the start of this.)
Adam’s mention of 1917 brought to mind Gallipoli as your suggested film to watch. Released in 1981 and starring a young Mel Gibson (between Mad Max & Mad Max 2) it was directed by Peter Weir. The ending is heart wrenching. You realize what’s coming and are powerless to stop it. I saw it in the theatre back then and find it difficult to watch even now. You can find it on Amazon Prime.
Finding this really helpful today. I've been getting in a lot of petty arguments with my roommates lately and it's good to be reminded to take a step back and be mindful of what is really going on instead of lashing out at them.
When I was in the Air Force I was flying crew chief and had the opportunity to attend the Air Force survival school. Part of that was prisoner of war camp. That experience taught me many things, mostly how to deal with situations that are not normal. So when I might think something is bad I look back at that training and what I going thru doesn't seem so bad.
@@Riley_Mundt Im so depressed I can't even fricking keep track of how many sleepless nights go by. My depression eating is getting so bad I've emptied my fridge twice without knowing twice and I've left an impression in the couch that won't go away because I'm so fat now.

In relation to the part of the video about trying to figure out why we feel the way we do at any point; I have also noticed the same thing in myself. Even years before quarantining for the coronavirus, if i would ever feel sad or angry or overly happy or excited, I would have to sit down with myself and think about what happened over the past day or two and have to out things into perspective. I really do appreciate you guys taking the time to talk about that and expand on it a little bit individually. God bless you, Jesus loves you, and stay safe out there; all of you!
I'm not one that did a LOT of things outside house before things where shut-down but having NO choice in being not able to do things that I would normally do is driving me nuts! I can't get things done because offices are closed. I'm not complaining about having to stay in. I do that normally. I'm complaining that I can't get anything USEFUL done outside the house.
What a portion of the population DOES understand is that this isolation is very similar to going through cancer treatment (for either you or your spouse/partner). You take it one day at a time knowing that you will come out the other end. You won't be the same as before it started, but you will survive, you just have to concentrate on one day at a time. There is a reason that all the recovery programs live by that moto, one day at a time, and before you know it you have made it through. Stay Safe everyone.

Before the SIP I would cope by going to friend’s places or amusement parks or places like that for a break where I didn’t have to worry about anything. The film ends with him turning a desk chair into a remote-control "tricycle" by removing 2 wheels, and sends it to a drive-thru. I am surprised with the anniversary passing, and Adams love of all things space suit we did not get an Apollo 13 mention. . I think a spoiler cast for that with a special guest (I am sure Adam can find somebody to zoom in!)
Generally I think a special guest cast would be good. maybe a movie Kayte worked on, and have her join in.
Can we take a moment to talk about Norms fish?
Is Adam sitting before those spacesuits?
Do watch Tales from the loop. It's so good so far.
You should do these in VR!
I accidentally flung my earbuds off while taking off my mask while watching this lmao thankfully they didnt fall into a sewer ;^)
How did you do the background of the video chat with a underworld look?
Green screen. Just a colored sheet and some software.
@@zyxwvut4740 what software would you recomend
Adam, It sounds like you are a student of A Course In Miracles
I highly recommend Ozark on Netflix. Phenomenal show, and the third season was just released.
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
Did you ever do a Spoilercast for Logan?
Can't relate yet; but then again, my schedule hasn't changed all that much and I'm basically a low-key home-body normally.
yelling at my kids is high on my regret list for this whole period
Would suggest a uk show called The Repair Shop. Big hit in the uk!
Thank you Adam for not having a mic directly in front of your face like those other silly guys.
And as a result he had the worst audio of the three
@@llamallama1509 cause he's using a cam mic check out my streams or videos and mic is never in the shot and sound is good. I just find it annoying people think they have to be inches away from their mic if its a good quality mic a foot or two and it will still sound crisp.
thank you for the vids... it helps to block out the plotting of the possums lols :P
You should do a spoiler cast on Onward, the new Disney Pixar movie...sooo good!!
Adam How is your finger doing?
Will's comment about avoiding the last series of the Good Place because he doesn't want it to end is pretty ironic considering the plot of the last episode.
Another vote for Tales From The Loop!
Hey Adam I love your videos I can't think of any that I haven't seen but I have questions about people such as Simone gertz... She hasn't posted anything in probably two or three months..!! I'm truly worried about her...!! would you please give us an update if you can??? Or at least let her know we miss her and we're thinking about her!!!. Obviously it's her decision to make whatever brain tumor issues she has going on, her own private thing.. that all being said!!?... she's been very public about all of it !..the fact that she hasn't posted anyting makes me worry more than anything!!! Talk to her Let us know how she's doing Doesn't matterwhat happens she needs to know we are here for her no matter what ❤️💗💗💗💗!!!
Hows the finger doing Adam?
Have you watched The Black List with James Spader from the movie StarGate SG1, have you seen the SG1 series?
Stay safe to all @Tested.
Will they ever title it?
If you like Elmore Leonard check out the movie 52-Pickup. My first book by him.
Spoiler cast suggestion: Lucky Number Slevin
what about the projekt "introducing adam to videogames" woudn't it be a great time for thet now?
My world is the same except now I have a lot of noisy neighbours instead of just 1 or 2 🤣
Watch Bacurau! Brazilian movie winner of the Jury Prize on Cannes. For the love of God, you will love this movie. It was available for free a few weeks ago...
Same vibe as Parasite, but with a touch of John Carpenter. Won't give the plot because the less you know, the better.
I know that vast majority of your audience is probably in the US, but this is a f*ing amazing movie. I can totally help you guys with context later if you want.
