I am not sad that this game will launch in 2023, devs team need its due time to polish it and optimized it. And considering the scope of FF XVI is going to be huge, I think the Yoshida-san's department will deliver top notch quallity again. You can't rush greatness.
I think the shots at 2:15 of Shiva/Titan are deliberately there to show us the graphical improvements they've been making since the 1st trailer. Even tho it probably made the game take longer to finish but I'm not complaining! Also what's up with Ifrit doing a shoryuken on another Ifrit in the last shot? Questions ...
Looking back at the reveal trailer, it would make sense the second Eikon of Fire would be related in some way to Rosaria’s fire aspected Mother Crystal. So presumably Clive himself is awakened to this power, through someone or something that first appears as Ifrit as seen in the first trailer. The narration in the first trailer (presumably Clive himself speaking) stated “the legacy of the crystals has shaped history long enough”, implying the tyranny is the mother crystals themselves. I’ll wager Clive becoming the dominant of Ifrit, in some way in contravention to the established order of the crystals “blessing” is what makes him the linchpin to resist this tyranny.
Yup, glad they toned down the blown out lighting in the first trailer/seemed to settle on a lighting solution. I remember Digital Foundry pointing out Halo Infinite's initial reveal had the same thing which made the game look lower quality than it likely was. Looks much better here and it already looked great!
Yoshi said the game is already playable from start to finish. The one year time is for polish. But people need to remember that a lot of devs on this team are going back and forth working on FF14 and FF16 at the same time. Not all, but a lot of the big names like Yoshi-P, Soken, Koji-Fox, and others. Even the Heavensward writer is writing this game. So that means they can go more darker with the story. Heavensward already got pretty dark and that was in a T-rated game. I'm excited to see how far the writer pushes the story. I want some fucking grit man.
I just love how the Dominant for "that's a bloody mountain" Titan...is basically The Mountain from GoT haha Tho it sounds like Hugo will have a lot more political agency, along with his muscle, according to the website profile
I hope there are more than just the main story summons in this game. I loved the way they looked, will definitely be fun to use in battle. Just give me some smaller summons. Like non major ones that just show up and do some damage!
@Aussie Legend the rumor was forspoken was getting delayed and ff16 was coming in holiday. But I'm more excited for remake part 2,but this release window says no way remake part 2 coming til 2024
@@paulsmith9192 that was a rumor from a podcast wasn't really worth buying into But yeah, FF7 seems like a march 24 at this point but might see a trailer soon which is cool.

I think this trailer was just to hold us over until next summer but FF7 Remake Part 2 will likely get announced this fall and release during the holidays. Square doesn’t need to do heavy promoting for the game since it’s the second part. Plus, the game is already done so there is no need to hold on to it for 2 years. I think FF7 Remake Part 2 will hold us over until this game comes out. That would mean FF7 Remake Part 3 would come out in 2025/2026 as opposed to FF7 Remake Part 2 coming out in 2025 and, based on that timeline, part 3 possibly coming out in 2030? 10 years would seem ridiculous to me for a 3 part game. It would be a new generation of gaming console at that point lol
Seems a lot of people didn't notice when the eikons/primals were titled, it named Ifrit twice, and then at the end TWO Ifrits are fighting. Hope they alter the HUD or give us options to reduce it, the numbers and the bars etc are all a bit grotesque to me.
I am quite suprized when I saw the date. In the previous update Yoshi P mentioned that when they show the game next time it will be near completion. Looks like plans changed. Not disappointed. Game development is difficult.
@hodod that's what I heard to. I heard forspoken was getting delayed and ff16 was coming this hokiday. But,my biggest concern was this says remake part 2 isn't coming til 2024.I thought be late 2023
Keep in mind that being complete doesn't mean it'll fit into SE's release calendar when it's done. The FF7 compilation comes out this year along with Forespoken and other minor releases. I bet the original goal was to release at the end of this year. but it looks like SE shifted everything by 6-7 months.
@@paulsmith9192 That means if game truly is complete they can polish the shit out of it for the next year. The only thing I don't like is the HUD/UI. It's too cluttered especially the damage numbers. The color and design of the HUD/UI also doesn't match the supposed dark fantasy vibe of this game (for ex: the green HP bar and yellow orange limit break bars are too vibrant). I love the FFXIV team but this kind of HUD/UI suits FFXIV way more than it does FFXVI. Hoping they change it before release. In addition, I guess we won't be having any party members. A bit disappointing but it was bound to happen given how FFXV already had a stripped down party system. Solo protagonist is probably how it's gonna be moving forward, and that makes me sad because party members have always been a series staple. ATB combat I didn't mind going away in favor of action rpg style combat but I feel like taking away the party system kinda takes away part of what makes an FF game an FF game. We'll just have to see I guess. Also RIP Leviathan you're the only OG elemental summon that was left out. Your Tidal Wave/Tsunami will be missed.
I think they learned much from XV where they have to downgrade Leviathan's fight cause it was tanking too much FPS due to the majestic water physics all over the screen. XD
Agree about the UI. It looks like there may be no permanent party members (you might have "guest" party members to temporarily accompany you for a specific chapter/part) but I definitely dont think this means it wont ever be present in future FF's, it's such a staple of the series and 7R nailed it perfectly, I think more than anything this might be a one-off in that sense?
I just completed FF XV on PC. If that's anything to go by, this games boss battles / summons are going to be mind blowing. The choreography in some sequenced events during boss battles actually makes it much more fun that Dark Souls / Elden Rings boss battles.
@EzySteve I'm here from the actual future to tell you there will be no Playable companions. Any accompanying friends on the story are complete AI controlled except for a Clyde trusted hound, which you can give commands to. (i.e. tell him to attack a target or heal you)
Loved this but also... people said 2022 would be the next 2017, now they're saying 2023 will be the next 2017.... Next year they're gonna say the same thing for 2024. We gotta face it, nobody expected 2017 and we should stop trying to predict another year like that. I am still satisfied btw. I got or am going to get some pretty great games this year, and we still haven't seen what Nintendo or Microsoft got for us (...though the latter actually needs to drop a 1st party game, really, the meme ceases to be funny at this point).
..... how???? Flavor wise this has so much a 14 theme. And the clear love and homage to mitsuda. Ff tactics, and tactics ogre is so obvious. The factions. World war. Heavy medieval themes. Stranger of paradise story wise isa bumbling mess that is riddled with bad dialogue. It's so tone deaf that it comes of as humorous unironically. This is clearly a story about violence and the harsh reality of the world. Stranger of paradise? I do not see how... I even get bits of the witcher and game of thrones.... Stranger in paradise. I do not see that at all. Even from a combat aspect. There's alot of dmc 5 DNA.
Yeaaah~ that looks aggressively uninteresting to me. Like, it looks amazing graphics-wise, of course. But the battle system? Not a vibe for me. Not one single female character? No thank you.
