This is one of Lee's best. I can relate to this and have been hearing this more from people recently. Actually heard that's a little more common to people who are into fitness/health, because we're generally feeling good but like to find problems where they don't exist. Weird how you can go years not worrying about anything, then you can start overthinking the most mindless things.

I can definitely level with you Lee, I am 43 years old, I have suffered from anxiety issues all my life, but I only suffered my first real major panic attack when I was 30 years old, heart racing, vertigo, felt like I was struggling to breath, I had myself convinced I was dying, I still suffer panic attacks, but I am a bit more self aware of the symptoms, but i can tell you the symptoms do change, and i still worry a lot, lucky i had my wife to help me through, her being a fellow panic attack sufferer, the advice she gave me was don't try to fight it, just go with it, and it does pass, and the need to accept the things you cannot control.

I started back bodybuilding after a ten year layoff. I would have panic attacks at the end of a heavy training session. I went to the ER about four times before they set me down and said get on anxiety meds. I had every test for the heart you could have. I'm very healthy. I got on anxiety meds for a month. Now that I know its anxiety, it only lasts for an hour or so. I quit the meds and just ignore the panic. Bodybuilding puts the nervous system into shock. Every month will get easier. I thought I was gonna kill over for three years before I went and had everything checked out. You'll be fine Lee. You are an inspiration to millions of people. I was taking tons of caffeine daily and it seemed to have gotten to me over years of doing so, I take it as my body telling me somethings off. It definitely makes the ego take a step back based on fear coming out of seemingly no where...not a fun time, I took some low dose blood pressure med to help relieve the anxiety if I felt it come on, luckily I was able to come off after a few months. Intense fear of dying out of no where I can relate... It can pass as easy as it comes if you try changing your lifestyle even slightly.

The thing with anxiety attacks in they act like a negative feedback loop and if you keep thinking about them they just get worse and persist, anyway they suck and I just thought I would let people know what worked for me in case they want to give it a try.

Thanks for sharing lee. I’ve been using gear for 20 years now and currently on trt and I’m early 40s. Got kids and I’ve had anxiety on and off a few years it’s been a rough life for me deaths, military services, accidents ect. Last night I could not sleep thinking of situations I’ve been through and fear of my future. It Really knocked me off today but I bounced back as the day went on . Anyways I know your a pro but sometimes we miss the basics. You said you started 300 mg of test few weeks back ??? Check your e2 this causes anxiety in me and a few lads I train with. It’s took me 10 blood works and about 5 years of my trt/blasting to figure out my panic attacks and my anxiety. I split my doses up now I’m a different person on trt now. I will do this on my next blast as well. Like I said your a pro and one of the all time best but if you have not checked your e2 recently it could be that. High red blood cells do this too that’s why I donate 3-6 months. Remember our blood markers change and we also change how we respond to testosterone. As the years go on we might need less or more.

This happens to us all when we realise our mortality. When we have more years behind us than infront .I'm 50 single parent with a 11 year old son and wonder who will he turn to for help or missing his successes and failures. Who will be there to keep the monsters away when I'm gone.

      Hello James,
Don't worry mate you'll still be there for him when he's a grown man. He'll be 25 in only 14 years. 30 in in 19 years. He's still got you and you've still got his back.
Look after yourself and cherish your relationship.
      Love mate.

Lee is an intellectual guy, meaning he’s an over thinker. Panic attacks suck, suck bad. I have panic disorder and it’s hard for people to understand the attacks. And nights really suck, it’s a lonely time for some reason. And then comes the, “am I gonna die in my sleep”. I feel the whole part Lee says as well I’m missing out. Hypochondria and panic attacks are a double whammy. Constantly thinking you’re having an aortic aneurysm is not fun. I hate mind drugs, but, sometimes they are a god send. Unfortunately when I come off them….here we go. It gets better Lee, keep your mind busy and give it time. You’re a legend.

Lol... I'm 48 fella and started to get the 'wobbles' regarding my own mortality about two years ago now. Lol... it's like driving an old car down the motorway... you hear a 'rattle' and you immediately think the cam's about to exit stage left 🤣
Now stop thinking about it and crack on... to quote a wiser person than me:
'God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.'
Best of health to you buddy... all the best from the UK 🇬🇧

This is incredibly common but because it's something that doesn't get talked about much you feel alone which only makes it worse.
It makes you realise that the mind is far more powerful than the body.

I had a truckload of anxiety last Christmas which affected my sleep which affected my waking hours. I started taking 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) and my anxiety is almost completely gone! When taking it, be consistent and realize that it will take up to six weeks to being working so don't give up! I continue to take 200 mg per day and I don't notice any side effects.

These are like intrusive thoughts. I seem to have a different type of anxiety, purely a physiological response. The nervous system kicks up, heart starts pounding, get dizzy and think "I gotta get out of here." Never really have a thought behind it.

I'm a touch older than Lee and had that for a few months. I kept thinking I was going to die in a couple of years and why is life so hard, what's the point of working hard all the time. I just snapped out of it one day and that was that. When I think back, there were a few negative unfriendly people around me for a few years before all that.

I think it's when you know maybe you have more years behind you than in front . Healthy years too I mean say we live till 80 by 60-80 (20 years) things on the body keep breaking more and more, it's like servicing a car and fixing it to the point where its unfixable.
Best advice I can give and what I'm try is make these years count. Instead of worrying about dying think I might not be hear in 5 years time so I need to go as many places, see as many friends and loved ones, be as humble and kind as you can so when that time comes you have made the most of your life.
My grandad when he was 90 said to me when you are this age all you have is memories..... start making as many as you can Lee

It's all caused by elevated stress levels. If our stress levels were at a normal level, these thoughts wouldn't bother us at all.
But when we're stressed, we get bothered about things we cannot control and we start to feel trapped.....then we become anxious and/or depressed. We get stuck in a feedback loop which keeps our stress levels high.

As a person that experiences the point to where I almost committed suicide, it's good to find things that make you happy and to make peace for the way things are. The illusion of control is always been something that has caused us to feel empowered, but then that illusion can take a turn and lead to depression, anxiety, and worse suicide. I gave myself to God and humbled myself, releasing the fear of the unknown.
I hope that you can find your peace because in reality the things that we concern ourselves with is really frivolous, small, and insignificant.

Lee, I've always had anxiety and panic attacks. It's absolutely miserable and can consume your life if you don't get it under control. I tend to have a lot of sleep anxiety and it sucks. Mix it with PTSD caused by another career choice and traveling the world and it makes for some shitty times. Do you think some of your recent anxiety or panic attacks are caused my seeing all of these other bodybuilders passing away? Just remember, none of us gets out of this alive, live your best life as healthy as you can!
