Wow, after all these years I've just realised that I was literally about 5 minutes away from completing the game. I rage quit the game after I kept dying on the train part at the end, and always thought I'd missed out on much of the game. This feels like closure!

The campaign in 1 and 2 on insane we're perfect. You were able to get the hang of it and have fun with a good challenge. Do you find the campaign in 3 and 4 way too hard on insane?
@@lk6912 I really can't answer that accurate for you. For me I didn't care for Gears 4 because it took steps backwards as far as a darker mood goes. I don't care for the robot enemies, Grubs are a great deal of "monster" that robots can't do. I enjoy 1 remastered and the 360 version as well.
That's actually a testament to how very little developers are putting into games. The jump from console to console use to be drastic. I'm playing Gears 5 and its a good game, but I can tell it's still the same engine as the first Gears. Why do I play a game like GTA 5 and I'm still amazed by the detail and graphics, it came out in 13. But Gears came out last year and graphically it's nothing impressive.

The jump from NES to SNES, PS2 to PS3 etc, and nowadays, it almost feels like the gaming industry has turned into the phone industry. I will never forget this moment, where i had been coming home from highschool and the collector edition of GoW was in front of my door. I'd played it on my tube television and cant believe what i saw...this sick graphics... and on this day i knew... the future is now!

That was the point of this game, dark and grey. Makes it look sad because the world had been destroyed and run by the locusts. I love it, this was my first game on the 360 👌🏽

I've played and beaten almost all of the gears games and to go back and watch the first one brings back so many good memories. I love this game so much. This game is so good and it looks incredible still to this day it could be a movie. If ur a fan of third person shooter games and u haven't played gears of war u gotta play it it's that good. I'm only 12 and I remember playing this. My dad got it when I was five, but I started playing when I was six. It was awesome. I never got passed the first berserker fight. My dad got me through it. But I literally had nightmares when I was playing at night and heard "BOOM." in the deepest voice that sounded like growling.
I love the furniture killings...... Am I the only one that noticed the screw turning the wrong way at 2:11:50? The platform would travel down based on that screw, not up....
When this came out I went to the local gamestore after work on a Friday and bought the special edition in the big metal box with the second DVD disc that had the making of documentaries. On the way home I picked up a pizza. Then at home, before I started Gears up, I played a few minutes of RE4 for some reason. Like an appetizer for the main feast. I also watched all the stuff on the DVD. I still love the behind the scenes footage of game development that makes me feel like I was there. Being hyped and excited at launch was fun.
Damn gears of war was so dark and bloody back in the day. I loved the way the boltok pistol just ripped them in half. I’m a fan of gears but the most recent ones don’t give you that chill this one had. But then they realised ultimate edition which is why I’m getting the Xbox series x along with the rest of the gears. But the first one is the best IMO

The original had a darkness, it wasn't about saving the world, more about surviving in a world that had already ended. Gears 5 is just Halo with swear words.
gears of war has to be (IMO) one of the best franchises to hit the market, GOW 1-3 just had the dark undertones and the feeling of no hope left for humanity with an awesome story line/character development gears 4 was ok judgement was mid gears 5 was ok as well you can really tell when Cliff B left the franchise hopefully gears 6 is amazing

Something about the color and scale of the original that is more appealing to me than the remastered version. Darker, grittier… sets the tone and the environment much more efficiently. Pre-Lightmass bomb, Locust at full strength and more than capable of wiping out the rest of humanity. Remaster didn’t have that.
Something about this game was just right; the cutscenes, the humorous interactions between the characters, the music, the horror vibe of the story etc. The developers of this game lost something past gears of war 2 imo, even then it still wasn't the same. I get that you can't repeat the same game over and over again, but damn this game just hits the spot for me.
Man I wish I could experience playing this for the first time again. A true edge of your seat experience. Also I hope this is at least Hardcore difficulty lol nah this is on easy or normal haha
I remember playing this on insane mode. I got passed the krill after 338583 tries. Then the glow wrenches. God those glow wrenches. Shoot one and dont jump dead. I got passed everything..... then came the swarm of glow wrenches at the cart station. Took me 250285 times before i finally passed it. Dont even get my started on general raam. 😂😂

You always got a love the chainsaw ar. I've tried to finish the game using nothing but the chainsaw when available. Didn't turn out so well but fun and filled with gore.
I remember when I was a kid and I was playing this on casual I was just getting to know the game and how to use the controls properly when it got to the Berserker boss Part I literally screamed my head off coz of the dark graphics and just running straight at you I always get moulded over but over time with practice finally beat the Berserker and all was history til this day I still play the trilogy and just love it especially with the whole locust storyline and lore my little brother and I always talk about the lore whenever we play 😂
Damn it, in this video the ilumination and shadows are perfect! Which pc/os configuration is used? I have horrible shadows and overexposure of light on some edges of the faces of the characters in certain scenes!

Any difficulty below insane is far too forgiving. When Theron caught you from behind with a melee, you only lost half of your health.
