An unmuffled h is still probably quieter than a muffled Johnny popper. After baling with a 39 b and an old Wisconsin 2 cylinder on the baler all summer, I think I may need to get my ears checked...
As a boy I remember what I believe was oem muffler with smaller diameter outlet than inlet. My understanding was this was to build some back pressure and heat in manifold to help with vaporization in tractors set up to run on distillate. ??
Overall it’s a beautiful tractor but also sounds really masculine I’m planning on moving from Michigan to Alaska to become off grid full time I’ve never owned a tractor before and these 1940s farm all H tractors are so much better than the newer ones guys always purchase antique tractors I would great video buddy ❤😮
oem quality 👍🙂 now stack the 2 stacks please i wanna see when it's too much muffler and how tall we can get her standing 15ft or what 14ft 6 inch for going under freeway overpasses's? otherwise 100ft 1000ft idk🥴
Nah i got a Stanley muffler for my Farmall cub, you can barely hear the motor, all you hear is the radiator (which is usually loud) but then again its not even the right muffler
@@TractorHoarders it seems like whenever you do a tractor ride someone's always got a straight pipe and they follow right behind you and if you speed up it gets very sickening I'll tell you
I baled 3rd crop with an M and I wanted a better muffler, I assume it was the oem muffler since it's stamped IH, it was loud enough I couldn't hear the knotters trip.
I have a chrome straight pipe on my grandmother's Farmall H
Sounds great either way to me! The OEM definitely fits the look of the tractor.
That straight-pipe sound though
(Ya, bad for your ears long term, but damn that sounds nice)
That was my attitude too when I was young. Now, after 20 years with hearing aids I kind of wished I’d had a little more sense.

Haha! Yeah those two together might cause some hearing loss for sure.
OEM is definitely the way to go! Thanks for sharing the difference between the two. 🇺🇲🚜👍
A lot of people like straight pipes, and I kinda do too, but I've also come to appreciate having my hearing lol
Streight pipe, chrome

That thing sounds so awesome with no muffler!
as a peson who prefers john deere 2 cylinders, the farmalls sound pretty cool with no muffler

Wow Hans, definitely a huge difference. The older I get, the more I like quiet.
I agree with you too, Gary! I like the sound of the straight pipes but am appreciating my hearing ability even more.
Straight pipe works good for me. I don’t do any field work with it so no long run times.
Got some random thing I found on the side of the road on the super M, quiet as any minivan.
It sounds great without the muffler in my opinion

LOL - I love the crazy idea. Might just have to try that.
Good day I like the full muffler size on tractor looks more complete
so if u want more power buy after market. Thanks
My m has a hard time running straight piped is there a reason for that? Not enough back pressure or what?
Who wants quiet. The sound is what makes that tractor. Straight pipe.
I enjoy the sound and also my hearing lol
I still wear ear plugs regardless of muffler or straight pipe
That’s wise
Love those farmall
They’re well built old machines!
I would’ve straight piped it with a chrome stack, sometimes you just have to let her sing
I still got the original, I H muffler for my M
Nice!
I got straight pipe stack on mine
keep it straight piped

Wow, dramatic difference
It really is!!
I dislike the way the Stanley muffler on my Super M sounds. I will be swapping that over to an IH
I need to rebuild that motor
Ive got a flowmaster 44 off a car works much nicer and sounds great too haha
“Louder is better”- me
I like it loud too but also like to hear lol
Your oem looks to sit below the hoodline
Yeah, it does kinda go lower unless I clamp it in place
I like the Stanley better
runn it without an muffler
Quieter who wants quieter 😀🇨🇦
Put a glass pack on it.
Hehe
Sounds better than a damn johnny popper
I got a 1944 farmall h
They’re great old machines
oppen header gang
Sounds better without any.
Doesn’t sound bad, that’s for sure
I dont believe in mufflers😂 probably why I can’t here worth a hell
No need for a muffler
Straight pipe it
Why are you worried about a muffler most people run straight pipes on them anyway
As my hearing worsens, I appreciate it more
