Hi Dylan! I just wanted to say thank you for making these color grading tutorials. Very professional and easy to follow! You have a mew subscriber! Looking forward to learning more from you 💯
@@dylanjohndickerson it might have had a lot to do with color finale. It's a lot easier to follow along when you label each layer (log to 709, color correction, look, etc). I also loved that you used the curves instead of the color wheels. I personally dislike the wheel, and this made more sense to me.
@@dylanjohndickerson can I make a request for your next video? I am obsessed with the look of "Arrival"; something about the cool cinematic colors that make me keep going back to it. I attempted it once in one of my projects, but I'm curious how you would tackle it. (Btw my video is titled "This is my letter to the world" on my channel if you want to take a quick look at it)
@@tmonkeypunch Ooo great idea! I'll give it a try 👌 I think you did pretty well with matching the grade in that video. A few more tweaks and you could really dial it in. I'll give it a shot in the coming weeks.
Finally got one of your comments man haha. It seems to be mainly when you comment under my pinned comment that it shows in the notification and then disappears. It's a bug I reached out to RUclips about so I'll see what they say. Thanks for the kind words! 🙏
Showing the manual step is really good to help us understand what each setting does and how we can adapt it to our own work. Thank you for teaching us this, really appreciate it :)
@@dylanjohndickerson Hmm 🤔 I've been interested in achieving looks like The Batman, but recently I've been wondering how to do Kodachrome and Ektachrome looks. So, maybe some classic film looks :)
My pleasure Gert! Unfortunately it's looking like this will extend until the end of August at the very least. 3 months of being inside is pretty brutal, but I'm lucky enough to be able to make money from behind a computer. I'm hoping they'll end it soon though. Thanks for the concern!
I love your tutorials dude. So good. Little recommendation and if not it’s cool lol. A tutorial on how to grade a Vlog style video shot in different profiles like cine style, log and raw.
Thanks Russell! Glad you're liking them man. Hmmm well that depends what kind of grade you're going for, but I assume you mean something that's simple and natural right? Most vlogs aren't graded like this grade obviously. Is that what you mean?
@@dylanjohndickerson yeah pretty much lol. I know they’re not grade like this video at all. Just curious what you do for like a Vlog style to make the most of it. Or would you just correct it and not grade at all? Or what would you grade say… a comedy skit. Something not as cinematic
@@RussellEstridge well with vlogs, I feel like most people want it to look fairly natural, but you could give it a slight tweak light this tutorial I did. Follow the same steps except maybe don't push the curves as far. ruclips.net/video/k-7mJzO7NsM/видео.html

Is that possible to have the same result on DaVinci ?
Yes absolutely
This would've Been good without color finale just the standard FCPX,
First!
