    great video, but most complicated way of doing a pinwheel ive ever seen! :)

    for pinwheels you can pull the loose hair at the end of the braid back through the braid when you pull the yarn through instead of crossing the yarn over it to make it lie flat. nothing sticks out then

    i've never started a tail like that, i've always taken the third strand from the centre of the tail.

    It would also be a lot easier for the judge to see, and the point of it is to make it look clean cut, which would not be something green yarn could do.

    Fake tails are quite often used in shows, they are there to make the horse's tail look fully, rather than dainty.

    Do you not have waxed cotton plaiting thread there? It is so much stronger and easier to hide amongst the hair. And you can get it in much closer colours to the horse's hair. Also, you all seem to make plaiting so complicated with adding in your yarn. so much easier to just sew them in with a large blunt bobbin or plaiting needle and some thread!

    Where do you get the third strand for the braid?

    So how do you tie that knot at 3:50 to 4:00? Lol out of the whole video I do NOT understand that part at all no matter how many times I replay it. Thanks!! :)

  • @prospectbay123
    @prospectbay123 12 лет назад +1

    I understand the yarn should be the same color as the tail, but it would be a lot easier to see if it was green or something.

    So, are you only using two strands to make the braid? Or are you taking hair from one side to make a third strand? I'm a bit confused...Is it a french braid or a fishtail?

    what did she mean by saying yarn? did she mean hair?

    • @lvd3826
      @lvd3826 10 лет назад +2

      She means actual yarn. Usually its the color of the tail, in this case, it was black. I have seen some horses with bright colors though.

    A rawhide tail is when a horse has rubbed its tail raw

    • @AngelPink10291
      @AngelPink10291 10 лет назад +4

      Uhm no. A rawhide tail is a fake tail basically like hair extensions for a horse that doesn't have a nice full tail.

    Your pinwheel is too loose also hunters usually have larger pinwheels than that.
