      what is the difference?

    • @bronteanderson8936
      @bronteanderson8936 7 лет назад +9

      braiding is like a french or dutch braid and takes other pieces of hair into the braid as you work downwards and plating is the three pieces with no extra hair added

    If your horse has a long mane and you don't want to pull it, you can do a running or a diamond braid :)

    • @Dallas6101
      @Dallas6101 10 лет назад +2

      the types of braids they show can still be done with a longer thicker mane, but the longer/thicker it is the more braids you will have, which is why short manes are ideal

    Thanks Sam. Sewing with needle and thread is good for both thick and thin manes and holds really well. Yarn braiding is a little easier with a thinner mane but not necessarily any better. My personal favorite is yarn braiding - its faster and looks great at the big shows. I use sewn in braids for the showjumping and also the jogs at CIC's and CCI's. Thanks again so much for watching and your feedback

    The pony club get us to fold the end of the plait/braid and secure it so that the ends don't poke out and make it look messy. It's actually really a really good trick but doesn't work that well with thread 😊

    My guy has a super thick mane (it's cut short right now for summer because we don't show yet) and it gets really long too. Should I thin it/pull it, or leave it as is and just use less mane per braid?

    • @claudiakister7225
      @claudiakister7225 9 лет назад

      Ginger Robson Depending on how long it is, the length can interfere with how the braids end up looking. If you are going to show, pull/thin it because it makes the braiding easier in the long run

    • @noctesrebellionem212
      @noctesrebellionem212 6 лет назад

      for ideal braiding, youd need to pull it (unless its thin!! then trim!!) until its the length of your pulling comb (bout 4")
