Musically One feels like a bridge between his old music and ST too, his singing style is more like BC and he hasn’t really adopted the “Vessel” sound yet

This is probably the most I've ever seen of Vessel in a music video. I love his face and hand movements in this, they are so expressive!!. Without his mask he is vulnerable & naked!! I've never been so musically attracted to the lower half of someone's face before!! What a beautiful man!! ❤❤ WORSHIP
This is also how Sickick's fans feel. In his earlier videos, you could see the bottom of his face when he sang because he'd lift his mask enough. He's full mask now, also.
Sleep Token has always been just Vessel and II, up until more recently with the permanent addition of III and IV, going off of them getting brand new masks as sort of a "recruitment" so to speak. II however was looking at getting an upgrade according to the artist who made the new masks for III and IV, so he got one as well. On every album, single and EP that has been released, Vessel plays every instrument except for the drums, which is where II comes in ever since the beginning! III and IV have been consistent touring members for a long time now, with IV being the only lineup change and has been the same person for quite a while now, with the exception of a live pianist that was also masked and performed with them! I'm so excited for Nazareth, it's my favorite track of theirs, that and Sugar!
You are going to flip with Nazareth! As many people here it is one of my faves overall. And they still play it live. It was amazing to hear it in Berlin last year. Worship!
I've been waiting so long for this one! I got to see them live for the first time in Brisbane Australia on Saturday Oli had IV from Sleep Token come out and sing Antivist with him, Oli also wore one of the old Sleep Token masks during the song. it was amazing to see.
There are videos of him at his home, I presume, before ST, it’s amazing, beautiful young man on his piano & one full face sitting at his piano, advertising himself to give piano lessons, unbelievable ❤
Disregard… I just found the videos and watched them all. I’m just 🫠 I’m forever changed and I feel like I just witnessed something divine. Also, the song he sings live for that small group of people… I wonder if any of them realized they were witnessing the beginning of greatness and how blessed they were to watch him live without a mask on 😩
This song is absolutely gorgeous to me, as is the whole EP and the the band in it's entirety. Also, when you're done with the EPs and all, I strongly recommend listening to the Intrumental versions of the albums. Especially Higher's instrumental is insanely good and such a unique experience. It feels like a totally different song!

This is one of my favourite ST songs. That feeling of reliving the best moments of your life in dreams, only to wake into the disappointment of reality is just so well encapsulated in the lyrics and nightmarish ending.
Just listened to the end of both songs back to back and yeah absolutely they’re using a part from Calcutta in Chokehold. They reuse a melody from Jericho for Jaws, and I think there’s pieces from some of the other EPs scattered into some other songs but haven’t nailed any of the down yet.

You know it just occurred to me, we get a brief mouth/lower jaw shot of Vessel in the Fall For Me video, too (when he shouts "oh god I wish you were here"). And he doesn't even have any paint in that one.

If I had to choose, this song would be my all time favorite. The lyrics and a mixture of his singing and with the high notes, chills, the dark sounding piano, the layers and one of the best heavy sounds with guitar, bass and drums, ever with the high pitch vocal behind it and the dark muffled fade out, perfection. ❤ This is why they are my favorite.

This is my favorite song. I’ve never been able to nail down an absolute favorite song my entire life. But Sleep Token came along and Calcutta instantly became my favorite song ever.
I think it's rather clear Vessel has a lot of trauma that he is dealing with via his music and this incarnation of himself. I definitely think it goes beyond a bad relationship and break up. There is tremendous grief and guilt in many of his songs that feels way heavier than just a toxic relationship. I think he is also mourning the loss of the person he loved. I get the feeling that his lover is no longer of this world anymore due to some tragedy, possibly self-inflicted, and the visuals in videos like Calcutta seem to suggest that as well. In one version of my head-canon, Vessel is bargaining with Sleep to bring his lover back, becoming a self-sacrifice to this deity. The songs hit me even harder with this interpretation.

But the breakdown at the end of the song has a very different tone than the rest of the song, as if it's a responce to the lyrics and forshadowing that this joy will be fleeting and Vessel will be left with a lot of pain once the connection with the deity is severed. But thats my interpretation of it at least.
