That is the most unique primitive bow I have ever seen. Really amazing! I really like how minimal just the osage part of the bow is. Seems kinda like a Cherokee "D" bow the way it bends but just a little shorter. That bow has "good medicine" without doubt.
Yes, Bill is the one I learned it from by reading his thread on PA . Definitely not my original idea. He's was also very helpful when I had specific questions!
I just came across this vid and bro you created an amazing mind blowing bow. The details are phenomenal especially the spur. I had never seen the feather backing done until just a few days ago, but this one goes to the top. Great work bro
Not seen a backing wirh epoxy before. Is it flexible? Does it harden the back or add more flexibility or just protect? Otherwise: cool! Pretty short self bow, has to be a very good wood, this osage. The little imperfections make it so organic
Hi there. Nice work with your bow. One question. Does the feather backing fullfill an onther reason besides good looking? Like making the bow stronger? Like a linen backing?
It may prevent an errant splinter from lifting, but in all reality it is a mostly aesthetic backing. If you are looking for strength then stick with linen/rawhide/sinew.
Thank you for utilizing all parts of the animal! This is how it's done folks. Turned out awesome, thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much!
Saw my friend Bill Katzman’s bows with this feather backing, thought he was the only one doing it, sure is beautiful

It's a flexible epoxy made for fishing rods. Purely aesthetic and not for protection. Osage is arguably the best bow wood there is!
Awesome job my friend.... Love your videos. What did you use for the clear coat?
Thank you! I use Flex Coat Lite, a flexible fishing rod epoxy that will withstand the limbs bending without cracking.
Any other finish will crack over feathers.
Pretty fucking dope 🤙🏼🤙🏼
