Thanks Ray! I recently learned that it is very hard to find doctors in New Bern and that there are month long waits for doctors accepting new patients. And that having to go to Raleigh or Wilmington might be required. If this is true, can you add the lack of doctors as a con? Or maybe do a separate video about this? Thanks! Diane
I live in New Bern and I drive to Raleigh because of the doctor issues.. The doctors aren't available or most are super rude and not at all up to par on customer service. And hurricanes aren't that big here. It's a ton of wind and rain, but not those horrifying situations other places experience.
NEW BERN AND THE SUROUNDING AREAS ARE A NO GO,,, NOT A PLACE TO RAISE KIDS,,, NOT A PLACE TO LIVE PERIOD,,, IT SO MUCH I WANNA SAY ,, BUT I GOTTA REMEMBER,, I STILL LIVE HERE,, SO I GOTTA BE CAREFUL,,, EVERONE KNWS EVERONE,,,I REPEAT,, DNT DO IT TO YOURSELVES,,,OR DONT TAKE IT FROM ME AND GO RIGHT AHEAD,,,😢IM LEAVING SOON,,,
We moved to New Bern in January, 2024 and are just renting in 2024. The housing market here is totally screwed up. Average listing prices are skyrocketing and it's only going to get worse. Existing homes under $ 250k just don't exist and if they do, they're gone in days. New home builders just aren't producing product that the market needs. The whole downtown scene is way overrated. As for locals, yea, there's a couple of good restaurants like Morgan's, but who is going to be eating out several times a week? The shops are nice, but maybe geared for tourists that think it's so quaint. The local Chamber of Commerce and VisitNewBern are operating in the Stone Age. There's one big event per year. The Mumfest. Big deal. There's no reason for locals to continually support downtown businesses when all their needs are met well out west along MLK Blvd. There's no summer music festival because New Bern doesn't have a permanent venue. Heck, even Edenton has a Food Truck Festival. Not sure what these employees of these two organizations do other than collect a salary funded by membership.
Speaking of diversity..how many black people are there? I’m sure the area is mainly white but how is their attitude towards melanated people? I’m probably moving to New Bern in January
It's a mixture of white and black, but of course, everywhere you go there will be noses stuck in the air. Overall, it's safe and very relaxed here. Welcome to the Bern!❤❤
Thanks for the video. Moving to New Bern and couldn't be more excited this video. 😂
Haha🤣
Let me know if I can be of any assistance with your move! 252-649-3081

Thank you Hope!! We’ll factor this in when making our decision. We do love New Bern a lot!!
This IS America. Healthcare is garbage here no matter where you go.
Except major cities.
Regarding doctor visits, why to you drive to Raleigh as opposed to Greenville? Thanks
I've recently moved to New Bern and I've got an appointment in June for my PCP. You have to really go after your specialists too.
I lived in New Bern and went to New Bern High.

I appreciate your feedback. New Bern is not perfect, but it's definitely not the worst. But those honey croissants at Morgan's though....
Frizzy hair
