- Terraria has had many changes over the years. It's ports to mobile, consoles are all different and they had many pets that we do not currently have in the game. Today we will be exploring these pets.

i also remember the ol' leprechaun pet. you got it from 5 rainbows which fell from the sky and it made money. i also have memories of the werewolf pet, back when you could craft neptune's shell, i was grinding for the moon charm and i got the pet, i loved the memories
I remember farming gold from the leprechaun pet back on mobile, ah the good ol' days
Also the android pet that purposefully chews down enemies hahahaha love it
@@pogdogPlush yeah that farming involved us players getting away enough so that leprechaun jumps frantically and drops coins as a meek way to buy our attention.

There was 1 pet you forgot that had a somewhat OP ability, The Leprechaun Pet. It was obtained by gathering 5 rainbows which acted like falling stars but in the day. The Leprechaun's special ability was that when it jumped it dropped a coin, to easily farm this all you needed to do was make a 2 block high room to trap the Leprechaun and move slightly to the left to make him jump to follow you.
He had a very low chance of dropping Platinum and Gold coins but dropped copper and silver just enough that it was semi-viable for early hardmode purchases.

I remember using my kindle fire 5 to play teraria and I would just trap one of these suckers in a tiny box and just let him jump around for hours while I was at school
There was another one: the Android pet you get from that phone in wood chests. It dealt 1 damage but it was pretty consistent so it was a nice pet to have

2:58 it wasn't relogic's decision, all creative power for the mobile version was given to 505, which lead to all the mobile exclusive items and pets, as well as ocram, turkor, and lepus. They were removed in 1.4 for the sake of consistency

Also the old pets weren't creative or original, they're just recolors of enemies with slightly different AI. That's basically what all the console-exclusive content was; poorly recolored variants of existing content. At least the bosses, despite mostly relying on existing AI code, had SOME variation from the things they copied.

@@Argonwolfproject back in the day it was trendy to push out as many holiday updates as possible so you could stay on the hot page. i don't see the mobile version content as much more than some off brand stuff cobbled together by a third party dev so they can market the game more.
ocram is the worst, it's just the eye of cthulhu with a spammy laser attack slapped on.
these pets are probably the most interewting and unique feature of the old gen console versions, and even then... they're really bad! the slime staff is leagues better. i don't blame console players for not getting a PHD in terraria science to learn how I-frames used to work; but all these 1-damage little shits used to do was handicap your own weapons by giving enemies extra invincibility duration on hit.
i remember when those pets i often just had the zombie one equipped since of the projectile block it always made fighting certain enemies easier still sad that those pets are now unobtainable

There were actually three more. I forgot about several of them, but thanks to the comments I remembered.
On my own, I could recall two more: The Eater of Souls pet summoned was summoned with a bone similar to the Dungeon Guardian pet, and the Petri Dish that summoned a pet slime.
I'm not sure, if the worm pet has been removed also.
It's unfortunate they had to remove all of them completely.
The Eater of Souls pet, summoned by the Eater's Bone item, still exists, it was never removed or exclusive. It drops with a 5% chance from the Eater of Worlds boss. The worm pet however was removed.

There are three more pets:
Cupid(from Broken Heart)
and Android(from item called "Shiny Black Slab")
and Leprechaun(from item called "Pot o'Gold")
but those don't deal damage, the video was only talking about pets that deal damage
@@gsamov Android deals 1 damage sometimes, I have been playing with it almost all the time it was on 1.2 mobile terraria

The vampire miner was like the dragon hornet/snatcher and arch wyvern/demon, they were rare versions of regular enemies, there were also ones in the hallow
Man the good ol console days. There were also some hardmode alt enemies such as spectral elemental/mummy/gastropod and shadow slime/mummy/hammer
I also remember the black shiny plate, idk how it's called, but it summoned an android pet. There also was a leprechaun pet, you get it from 5 or 6 rainbows.

On old mobile I always remembered having the Granny on a Stick pet. it costed like 1 platinum but my god she was goofy and I loved her.

There is one pet that has a special ability in the current update: Chester (Eye Bone) which acts like a mobile piggy bank. Pretty useful fella, you don't have to bring a money trough with you all of the time

Dude I remember having the werewolf pet . It was sick. It would be cool if they re introduced him as a summon
Imagine if for multiple summons they had different fur colours and patterns, or perhaps the first summon was slightly bigger and did more damage/had a special ability.

Well, there is one non-cosmetic pet in terraria today. It’s Chestser.
Thank you! I seriously felt like I was going crazy when I clearly remembered the Tiphia pet doing damage when I started playing on console, and it wouldn't attack when I switched to PC
Now, the only pet that has an actual utility is the beloved Chester.
The SiIvagunner rip in the background tho.
Nowdays we do have a pet with a special ability, the Chester is a pet you get from the Deerclops, and it acts as a piggy bank, which is really useful as it doesn't need to be summoned and can be quick stacked to very easily at all times.
Now you can get the Eye Bone which acts like a piggy bank.

I believe that these pets were also added before summons. So they were basically early summoner weapons. Also, it wasn't relogic that added some of these, but instead it was the companies that ported terraria to other platforms I think
Oh my the Tiphia pet gave me flashbacks on terraria mobile. I was grinding vines for ivy hook and I got that fella.

I remember having the zombie pet and one day playing terraria and it just randomly disappeared and I was literally heart broken cuz he was kinda like my little buddy when I played and just him randomly disappearing made me so sad

actually booted up my ps3 a few weeks ago and I have thousands of hours on the ps3 so I remember all these pets and I remember being so sad when I watched a chippy gaming video saying they were removing them arch enimes ocram and everything else
I had literally all of them. I also remember the hampster pet and one other pet that I still am confused about... The worm pet from worms that you got from killing giant worms in the 3ds version
im so happy i still have the collecters terraria edition bunny pet and the disk with the poster and the 2 cards. stored it in some pirate box and found it again might hang up the poster again
I think there was a drone pet that dropped books every 10 minutes or so
I for a long time only had the 3Ds version, and I remembered most of the pets, but I didn’t even notice they were removed.
These damage pets were actually worse than normal pets because the pet damage would give the enemies immunity frames so your attacks would miss and not do damage sometimes. Dps was actually higher without the pets
The pets arent removed in 3DS, I know because I just opened it back up I had the Hamster Pet using the lettuce or something

I remembered when I've never played older terraria versions and felt jealous of the ones who did.
I still frequently play Old Gen Console Terraria on my PS Vita and I love these pets. When I found out about them for the first time, I was so surprised and I thought it was a really good idea. Basically a precursor to the Summoner Class in modern Terraria
One pet I remember when I played on mobile back in like 2018 or something like that there was this pet it came from a apple that dropped from the worm enemy and it gave you a special worm pet it would also say "boring" if you stayed in one place for to long
It would be cool if they bring some of these pets back, maybe as some kind of Summoner Weapon

I used to love that little bat pet, every time I played I ended up getting it so its was almost always equipped, sad I cant go see it again cause terraria on my ps3 crashes if I play for more than 2 minutes
I remember a pet that had android shape and a worm pet which was my favorite both from mobile
Worm pet was from “suspicious looking apple” from giant worm enemies and was from a collab with worms which also is where we got holy frag grenades, and iirc they got hallowed mask icon and the android was droid pet from android version of the game. I dont really know much about it cuz i played terraria on my ipad back then

I wish the werewolf pet was still in the game, the one that does damage. I have a werewolf pet in every one of my worlds but I just wished I could see the little scringly dingly do some damage every now and then. I could also make a clickbait video about killing dungeon guardian without melee, ranged, magic, summon, or falling blocks.
I remember when i had the bat pet and years later i played again and thought “wait pets don’t deal damage?”
I remember having tiphia pet on console it helped sligtly during the destroyer fight (though everythings good against destroyer)

The most useful for early game for me was the cupid pet that you can easily get by mining any gem, its basically a free light pet.

Dragon hornets and snatchers were brutal. The jungle was worse than hell with those things.
I've played on phone 1.2.* many time, and I remember only Elf one, but there was one more, android-pet, who also dealt damage 1-2? he could be found in ground-level chests

I started playing Terraria back in version 1.1 on my Xbox 360, and I remember using the Tiphia pet all the time
There was one more pet that you didn't mention: The android mascot. It had 1 contact damage.

I remember having a leprechaun pet on the mobile version, a long time ago now, and spending hours farming coins with it. Funny now that I remember how long it took to get anything but it was free coin for next to 0 setup
I remember there's a way to get a pet bunny on a regular edition of terraria
Me and my brother have a few of these on our Wii U. We started off playing on our Wii U but never got in hard mode lol. Now we play on pc and both have beaten the game.

I thought this was going to be about available useful pets like the eyebone/living chest or the Cursed Sapling and its ability to light up loops around the player. See also baby truffle, shadow mimic and volt bunny.

Omg, seeing the beeswax pet just gave me so much nostalgia, back in the old Xbox 360 Terraria days! Edit: I don't actually mean on the Xbox 360, just think it's a good console to say as the updates did stop for the console, making me always think of it as the "old terraria" console.

Yeah, I'm honestly really surprised there isn't a generic slime pet in the game, other than the master mode exclusive slime boss pets, given how common slimes are.
