I'm so sorry about your grandma🖤🤍. I know the pain Parkinson's brings to families all too well. My uncle had it and it also contributed to his death. He's been gone for about 4 years now.

The Way spring arrives is a translated short story anthology by Chinese authors that I am really interested in, especially since it has nonfiction essays as well. Its I believe primarily by women and nonbinary authors

I would never have known about the majority of these books if it wasn't for you, but some of them are now absolutely favourites!! Thank you so much for constantly introducing me to all these wonderful books, I love it.
Can't wait to get to Breasts and Eggs, The Book of Mother and The Woman Destroyed 🥰

I just finished reading 'Cockroaches'by Scholastique Mukasonga, translated from the French. It is about the author journey growing up as a Tutsi in Rwanda, and losing her family in the Rwandan genocide.

I loved Convenience Store Woman and have been wanting to read Earthlings! I'm so intrigued.
I was excited to see you recommend Disoriental. It's one of my favourites!

My partner and I just devoured Earthlings and loved it so much. Loved the themes, they were about as on the nose as you can get, but it was just brilliant. Definitely not something I’ll ever forget.

I ordered The Book of Mother at the Barnes and Noble book haul sale and should get it Friday. I am really looking forward to that one.

A fantasy series that I've read semi-recently (in the past year) is The Raven Rings trilogy by Siri Pettersen (Odin's Child, The Rot, and The Might). It's translated from Norweigan. I think it's supposed to be Young Adult, the MC is 16, but everybody else is older (some are immortal). There are also a lot of horror elements that I think would push it to at least older-YA, or could be classified as Adult.

Ooh, Tender is the Flesh sounds fascinating...but I think I'm far more likely to check out Elegance of the Hedgehog. Thanks for the recs!
I am also planning to check out the Prometheus trilogy in the original German, at some point. Gotta see if all my studying is paying off!

Hello. I’m sorry to hear about your grandmother, but I’m glad the book helped. I think I want to read A Winter’s Promise from this video. I’m currently reading Pachinko. I think you did a review of this book but I can’t remember if you liked it. I have started watching your videos with pen and paper so that I can take notes! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked myself, “What did Brittany say about this book again?”

I needed this video! I think The Woman Destroyed has my interest the most. Alicia is wonderful, and I’m excited to hear what you two have to say about Tomb of Sand! 💜

I recommend The Antarctica of Love by Sara Stridsberg to anyone that'll listen. It's pretty dark though but an absolute gem.
