My daughter lives here (marine base) and I come down twice a year from Upstate NY. There is NO place on earth like Beaufort in my opinion. The history, the oaks, the tradition. I just LOVE it here!! Great video, and I love how you put in your own photos. Thank you, this helped my plans today!
Thanks for this great info! My son recently graduated MCRD Parris Island and then off to his school house to be trained for his military occupation. We’re originally city folk from the Big Apple NYC but we’ve been living in Orlando, Florida for a decade. He graduates November 1st and just got his orders for permanent duty station and it’s MCAS Beaufort! He wasn’t happy at all and was like “Dad, I don’t like South Carolina. Mind you, the young man’s only experience with South Carolina was Parris Island and the poor lad is traumatized. Lol From what I observed when I went to see him graduate recruit training, was that the low country SC was immensely beautiful and tranquil (outside of PI and the screams and shouts of the DI’s 😂) very desirable. When he told me he was going to Beaufort I was ecstatic because now he’ll be stationed there and I’ll have a base camp to visit myself and explore the lovely low country just a short drive from Orlando. But my son is newly married and he and is young bride have never been away from home by themselves so this is a little nerve racking for them both. After watching your video I’m sure that they will settle to their new environment and love their home away from home. I’ve been informed greatly from your report of the area and I’m sharing your video with them. I am a city boy and when I was younger I thrived in the concrete jungle but as I age I find myself drawn to the slower pace of more rural areas. Even Orlando is getting too big for me and I’m very much looking forward to getting to know Beaufort and low country better. I love how it has maintained it’s small town charm and hasn’t been consumed by big box stores and strip malls. I hope it never does! I’ve subscribed to your channel to learn more. I have an idea for content for you to think about. I was thinking if you could maybe making a video on affordable housing options in the area for young military families getting stationed in Beaufort. They receive of basic allowance for housing of roughly $2100 a month. It’s a stressful situation and having some guidance from someone who knows the area would be a great blessing. Just something to think about. May God bless you and your loved ones and keep you safe! Semper Fi! from a Marine veteran and Marine dad
Thank you and your son for your service to this country! Also, thanks for watching my videos and the nice feedback! I'm with you, I'm not a city person (love to visit them)! Beaufort has definitely been able to maintain the small town charm and we hope to keep it that way! Folks can alway make the 30-60 minute drive to Bluffton, Hilton Head Island or Savannah, GA for the major retail outlets. I'm always looking for video content! Thank you for the great idea on affordable housing! Military families are important here and provide much revenue to our ecomony and I know it can be difficult to find housing but there are a few key areas I could focus on. I hope your son is pleasantly surprised by Beaufort, life outside of Parris Island! Best wishes!
We love it there to visit and we loved it there soooo much we moved there and the crime was soooo high be sure you watch where you move (there is a reason why homes are so cheap there ) buy in an expensive area .. we were sad to move after we had a home invasion :( and our footage showed us on our camera who they were they were scary and never caught :( we sold 6 months after that I just never felt safe living there after that …. Yes there is crime everywhere but Beaufort is HIGH in crime
I agree that Beaufort is a hidden gem, but we are full. You will enjoy living in Bluffton,Hilton Head, Savannah, or Charleston more. Come visit, then go home.
I was set on relocating to the Greenville area but after this video idk anymore lol! Being from Portland, ME I resonated with this town a lot more. Do you help with rentals?
Thanks for watching! Yes, Beaufort is a very unique small town! Beaufort has all the water with the Sea Islands and Greenville has the mountains and lakes. My brokerage does not handle rentals but the most of the rental here are handled by Beaufort Rentals: www.beaufortscrentals.com/. Best of luck with your relocation!
Looking to retire in SC in a small coastal community. Looked at videos of myrtle Beach area looks like it’s congested and commercialized is that true ?
Thanks for watching! Yes, you are correct, it has gotten very congested there. It's a hot spot for beachgoers and golfers. Thus, one of the fastest growing cities in the US!
Thanks for watching my video! Yes, we do have long term rentals but just like other desirable locations, they can be difficult to find. You need to plan in advance.
Thanks for watching my videos! We really don't have any 55+ condo/townhouse developments but I will say, most of the residence in these communities are of retirement age.

Thanks so much for watching and your feedback! I sounds like you have the same passion for Beaufort as I do!🙂
Your videos are fun. You’re fun. You’d be great on a morning show ❤
Gosh, thanks so much for watching and your nice feedback! LOL! I'll keep it in mind if I ever decide to give up real estate!

I know you did this video 3 months ago. However I am wondering if there are full term/yearly rentals available?
Thanks for watching my video! Yes, we do have long term rentals but just like other desirable locations, they can be difficult to find. You need to plan in advance.
You forgot the National Cemetery there.
Thanks for watching! Good catch, I did feature the cemetery in a similar video! A very important landmark indeed!
what's the starting price on a two bedroom home?
Thanks for watching! It completely depends on the location and the condition of the house. Ball park - starting at $300K.
why the hell did they deposit monkeys in the USA?!
I was thinking the same! Did China buy that island 😝
They are used for medical research. The company that has the government contract is at Yemassee, northern part of Beaufort county.
why not drive around town show the scenery instead of talking on camera
Thanks for watching and your suggestion! I'll try to do more of that!
Is there retirement communities available in this area for condos and townhouses?
Thanks for watching my videos! We really don't have any 55+ condo/townhouse developments but I will say, most of the residence in these communities are of retirement age.
@@TheLowcountry do you have condos ot townhouses in mid 200 range that doesn't flood or need flood insurance?
