15:47 adding the asymmetric sculpted details as a blendshape is genius, I've had times where I wanted my mesh to be symmetrical again later in the process when fixing things
My brain can not handle how good the shiney jelly like texture you used/made for this model... I am beyond speechless as well as understand how much effort it takes to make a slime girl in 3d. I guess this is why you don't see many Vtubers with models like this lol.
It’s almost impossible too unless you use unreal or Unity directly to render the VTube model. Free apps that depend on vrm models usually can only support toonshaded models
@@Dikko pls also don't forget to make a video about how to make character animations with no rigging that seem realistic not cartoony and by the way i subed i appreciate a fellow that puts hard work into his vids
This is literally flawless. You have inspired me to try to get better at modeling. Since I usually do game models, I tend to do a more low-poly take except seeing how you were able to get such good detail on the hands and feet makes me rethink this outlook. Also if it makes you feel better, I think the shader looks flawless, I definitely couldn't do it!
33:48 What's wrong with me, every time I see a slime-esk character, especially with how nicely rendered it turned out, I immediately think "Gummy bear" and get hungry. I think that character would taste like strawberry or raspberry. Now I want one of those unnecessarily large gummy worms.
Insanely sick of a result, killer job man. Doing all the different parts of 3d art with all the different hurdles of this kind of character design and it still looking stellar is beyond impressive.
Modeling, shading, rigging and animation man you are something else, it would be awesome if we get a back story on how you started 3d and what learning paths you took to get to this level it would be interesting for sure at least for me, keep it upppp!!

I really love how you made the palm and the thumb, I’ve never really thought of extruding that extra bit for the palm first and then the thumb from there. It is really refreshing to see someone online working with characters on blender using correct topology for animation. It’s impressive how little people care about using correct topology online.
@@Dikko sweet, i had a model but i had troubles with weight paint, my rig got messed up and everytime i open the proyect i get a error pop up, luckily i fixed it by copying the model and putting it on another file Also, would it be possible por a tutorial on how to make a lizard type tail? My character has that but i dunno if i should make it from the model or making it separate and then join it to the model
ok, maybe ill pick it back up again, i just remembered that it can be fun, so many times during this video, i say to myself "that's it, i would have stopped right there" and that part isn't even a difficulty, you just make it look good as it was all part of the process, thank you for sharing your work on this
I'm really loving this series. Been on a creative slump for a while now because quite frankly learning 3D is so hard, and you get stuck a lot. But videos like these lighten up my mood and drive to just keep chugging at it❤
that is so many squares up front, I'm surprised you don't get totally lost in the complexity early on. I don't think my brain is cut out for high-to-low-poly modeling lol. I wish everyone did a take on a slime character, you learn so much
Honestly woowwww. I just discovered your channel and I think this animation and shading and everything abt this art is the most Pretty and well made 3D art I have ever seen
I don't know anything about 3D modeling, so I watched this video out of curiosity, but I was surprised to see the display tablet in the background is the same as mine, I think.
amazing work with the project u know the youtube video is good when u don't keep hitting skips , the final work comes out looking like it came from the 3D anime land of the lustrous and i love that so much , just one note u look like a black teletubby with ur bouncy antena :D .
What I got from your video was, create a hand model and foot model and then just copy and paste them babies into the body of a new character. Great work on the character
This is so helpful for me as a student studying 3D Modeling! The timelapse is just at the right speed that I can pause and go frame by frame to see what you're doing at any given point within Blender, since I miss what menus you go into during the full speed playback. Like, there's a checker select tool?? The LoopTools addon?? I wish that was something I knew way earlier!! There's just so many minor details I miss or don't think about when I attempt to make a model, and it usually leaves me frustrated and give up. Now that I've seen a lot of the tricks you use in this, I definitely think I'll give modeling a character another go and see if I can't get something cool pulled off! Also I'd love to see a video going over compositing, because it's a whole part of the program I've never touched. I understand the gist of what you did, it's not too complex, but I don't know enough about each node you used to just go and do things by myself.
very nice. had to put it in slowmo a few times to see what you were doing on the screen regarding some loop cuts but yeah this was excellent, thank you for the video!
this model could seriously benefit from some spring bones in various places, I'd love to see that in the hair mainly I do find the eyes a bit uncanny though, they don't so much look like eyes on the actual character as they do just, planes floating in front. perhaps it would've been better if they were 3D objects rendered separately and composited back in?
God dammit, I just started learning blender and I needed a tutorial how to make THAT EXACT type of character. But youtube decided to tease me, KURWA! Excellent work, though.
Definitely could've used more jiggle and I'd have thought the jacket/dress would've been the darker colour. Also, that animation you chose - my gosh, chief, why. Overall, pretty gorgeous result and enjoyable video to me.
Anytime you're doing something original it's always a challenge. I learning the same thing as far as artform goes.
