Beats Solo Pro review: on-ear noise cancellation, finally
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 дек 2024
- The Beats Solo Pro headphones stand out as the company’s first on-ear headphones with noise cancellation and cost $300. The design is improved, they sound good, and have long battery life. But they put a tight fit on your head, which some people might find uncomfortable.

What headphones are you using right now?
The Verge EarPods 😂

Beats Solo3!!!
Realme Wireless Buds! 😅

On brand for the verge, first thing mentioned, price.
Pierce Drobney believe it or not, price is a make or break thing for most people.
Why make an on-ear ANC Headphone?
If you want NC, take over-ear or nothing.
For people with small ears?
To feel unique?
True wireless in ear with noise cancellation exist like the Sony ones
probably because they gonna come out with studio pro or something
To give more options ?
Would’ve been better over ear, then they don’t have to grip as hard
They have the studio lineup for over ear headphones with noise cancellation.
I think they're gonna release an over ear version later
@@sriramsundar8388 Studio's ANC is a joke.
they’ll be more expensive though 300 is plenty enough to pay for most people
They grip hard because people use them working out. I don’t think beats solo headphones were ever designed for sitting in an office or anything - the only place I ever see people with solos is at the gym or out on the go. Over ear headphones get very hot and much grosser at the gym than on ear.
I just don’t think they’re marketed to the people in the comment section and most people misunderstand the appeal because they’re not the target audience. They certainly sell for a reason though
Watching this on my matte black Solo Pro and I'm enjoying it. I don't have a big head but my ears are a little further down so I do have to slide the headphone slider to adjust to my fit and it is very comfortable to keep on for prolonged hours. I was on a phone call with my gf for about 6 hours using the Solo Pro and I didn't feel any discomfort or whatsoever.
You were on the phone with your girlfriend for six hours with no discomfort?
This man is just built different I wear these all the time and my ears start to get uncomfortable after an hour or two
I like the on ear design because it makes for more portable headphones. I have several over ear headphones at home for music production, they’re Fine but bulky af and not practical, I wouldn’t go out with them.
I want to buy them but I can’t use them while laying down sideways on my bed 😢🥴
UltimateFireCracker yes agree but you can’t do that with most over the ear phones.
@@systemtim I think he means the buttons on the right ear cup.
@@systemtim which means he ain’t buying any over eat headphones duh. That’s one of the main reasons why I decided to get AirPiods Pros
@@pawelpow have you heard that air pods and other type of headphones like the AirPods can mess up your ear
@@baku-1015 proof
Being on-ear is already a reason not to buy headphones. Way too uncomfortable..-
Lukas Gigler “for you” -Bane
You get used to it, but these would probably be better if they were around-ear.
michaeldproject im sure that apple will make a beats studio pro or bring back the beats pro replacing the studios or make a studio 4
ModeloTime I think it’s likely we’ll see a new Beats Pro next year.
You do get used to it but having them 3hrs u feel it
Just spend $50 more for a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3
The Sonys don't actually cost $350 though. You can always find somewhere that puts them on sale.
You can get them way bellow 300.
Ferry Gunadi what is h1 chip
@Ferry Gunadi they have the QN1 chip though.
Ferry Gunadi im on android... so
I have a small head and small ears, so these actually work a lot better for me than other noise cancelling headphones I've tried. For me they are pretty much over ear haha
Do you still use them? Would you recommend them?
when I put solos on, my jaw become uncomfortable
I can feel the pressure but when you turn on your music you do t really notice anymore
Just picked up the dark blue ones from best buy for $179.99 on sale. Don't regret it
I’m glad to see that beats is changing for the better

I have these and it makes me hear my heart beat and it freaks me out lol the turn it off in transparency mode is really cool though. Got mine at a pawn shop for 70 dollars so I can’t complain

Thank you. That’s why I’m here.
If somebody is an “audiophile” they really aren’t looking at bluetooth in the first place though.
Dylan - Agreed. 👍🏻
@@DylanM15 Why not bluetooth?
@@SquidCena bluetooth usually compresses audio and therefore it sounds worse than if you use wired with lossless files.

What s wrong with your camera guys? That red it s...orange.
There like that in real life too
PSA: you acutally don't have to buy a $35 cable to go wired. Just use your iPhone lightning to 3.5 dongle or buy one for $9 and use it with any aux cord... pretty easy.
Smart.
Sorry to break it to you but that does not work. Idk why, but it doesn’t

Why would someone want On-ear headphones?
Edit: they're actually wondering about why they hurt.... Because they're goddamn on-ears
Honestly, I don't get it. I just bought Studio3 headphones a few weeks ago and I'd return them in a heartbeat for a "Studio Pro". On-ears just aren't comfortable. Honestly, even these over-ear Studio 3 headphones hurt my ears. I loved my V-Moda Crossfade headphones w/ XL pads, but the wireless mode was just too horrible on them. I'm hoping for an Apple-branded "Studio Pods" headphones or something like that.
I only go for on ears, dont like the feel of total isolation of over ears.
@@heyyicu get human headphones
Depends on the headphones. There's some that hurt me but there's others that are fine
No one wants to look like Princess Leia
If you’re plugging into a USB-C port on an iPad Pro, can you just use a lightning to USB-C cord or do you need the lightning to 3.5mm and 3.5mm to USB-C?
Better late than never. They just charge the headphones in my experience. So you’ll probably need a dual dongle. And I don’t even know if that will work 🎉
In iOS 13.2 the adjustable noise cancelling is coming
Returned them the same day I bought them. Uncomfortable to wear over time and overall kinda cheap sounding especially in the lowest and highest frequencies. Also the button for pausing and skipping songs, besides being akes a loud clicking sound in the headset when pushed.
Was seriously considering these until I realized there's no audio jack. I love the wireless features but it's not ideal for various uses.
I have the Bose for 1,5 years now and never ever used the included cable, simply because why?
you can use it with a lightning to audio jack cable, no problemo
You have 40 hours battery life with fast fuel charging, safe to say you’re good without wireless charging
10 min charge for 3hr use ❤
When you're too early that there are still no comment available related to the video.
Nur Jay I know right
This headphones even at this price doesn't have any customization options in terms of eq and noise cancellation no wonder it is made by Apple and falls in line perfectly with their strategy of they know what works best for people. I wish it had an eq setting and a way to adjust noise cancellation levels then it would have been a good choice for even audiophiles as they value those features.
I think Apple didn’t set up the whole take the headphones off and the music stops because some people keep them on their neck and blast music but they should have given an option
Khuram Shahzad why? Why would you do that? Genuinely asking..
Vamsi I never said I did lol I’m assuming cause I see people do it all the time.
Which should I buy the PowerBeats Pro or the Beats Solo Pro
160$ now, just bought a pair love them
How’s the fit? Thinking about getting them but I‘d hate it if they were too tight on my head.

When are you guys gonna do the AirPods pro?
I have three pairs of beats in my closet. All broken. Not going to waste my money on another pair, especially one that I would need to spend extra money for to get a chord. Middle finger goes up to Apple on this one.
These ones are so hard to break. I literly stepped on my solo 3's and they looked like they fell off an airplane. I had these for a year now and I stepped on it again, no break.

Why put a lightning port in the Beats NOW when lightning is getting dropped next year?
It didn't happen lol
Do they connect to samsung?
Is it worth getting these over the Studio 3s? Or is the extra $50 worth it?
Definitely. The Beats Studios are a much older model without the new audio sharing, and software integration with noise cancelling features. It also lacks the same ANC quality and transparency mode

Nope
correct me if am wrong but instead of the 35$ audio cable can we just buy a lightning to 3.5mm jack and plug in normal aux cable? 10$ MAX...
Yeah we can
What's the $35 cable called ?? Can't seem to find it.
Where did you get the orange ones? Can't find them.
« As long as there’s no music playing, they enter a low power state » how do you know about that ? I’ve seen that written nowhere in the manual.
someone knows when next generations studios coming out I mean solo pros are here where r studio pros?
$35 for a cable. This is what drives me nuts about Apple. But their accessories are just plain rip-offs. $39 for a clear plastic iPhone case, $49 for a plastic watch strap, $199 for a keyboard case, $999 for a monitor stand. The prices have gone up even further in the UK - the iPhone 11 Pro starts at £1,049 ($1,345). I’ve been an iPhone user for around 7 years and a Mac user for about 14 years. I’m finding it really hard to justify continuing to spend this type of money, when I can get something like a OnePlus 7T for literally half the price.
I think I'll stick to my Bose. Thanks for the review.

I wish they’d figure out comfort with their on-ear headphones. Oh well; maybe some day...
Nice work, Chris!
Alexa buds will have Bose noise isolation and are only 130, no way on ear anc and an H1 chip is worth the price tag
you can use the charging cable to connect the beats

I have a pair of on-ear and I’m never buying on-ear again. Now I use my AirPods all the time, but I would love a good pair of over-ear for home use with my tv and stuff. Also they would have to support jack-cable so I can use them with my iPad and my guitar so I don’t wake the neighbors.
Give me some advices between on ear and over ear ?? Thanks
@@zintinahoangtrinh3218 I have no experience with over-ear. But on-ear headphones can be painful over time as they press directly on the ear. Its in my opinion directly uncomfortable, while over the hear headphones doesn't press on the ear itself. I been very happy with my standard AirPods though, so I haven't considered big headphones since I got those.
So the EPs wireless?

Ian Houk if $250 is a lot of money after 2 years of salary to you I’d go with skull candy or something.
If you don’t want this, but still want beats and noise cancelling, just get the over eat studio 3s second hand
I've owned many pairs of beats headphones usually the over a year.
I've also tried the Bose qc35 and the Sony "ridiculous names"
I also bought a pair of surface headphones.
I'd like the way these look. But if I want noise cancelling I want over ear. And I'm just going to say this even though it's a small detail...the surface headphones ability to use that ring to adjust the level of noise cancelling you get..... Everyone copy that.
These headphones look great and I hope the next pair of studios look like this. If they do and you can adjust the noise cancelling manually..... I'll get them.
That said I am secretly hoping next wall Microsoft release and updated pair of the surface headphones in black or red. Because I still have them and they still sound great.
Why didn’t they make these over ear instead
daviddaaannggg they’re called Beats SOLO Pro. If you want over ear you’ll have to wait for the Beat Studio Pro
Ever heard of the studio 3's?
Richard Ahn of course I have but they’re not the newest ones with noise cancellation are they
Danish Mohzani my point is that they should’ve MADE them the studio pros instead. Products aren’t dictated by the name, names are dictated by the product. I’m only saying this because every review I’ve seen has complained about ear fatigue due to the nature of noise cancellation needing to be tight so over ears would be better

Owned 2 pairs of beats headphones(studio wireless 2 and last gen solos), both of them had issues. Dropped connection all the time with studios, never quite figured out why. The firmware upgrades were supposed to fix the issue, but it didn't. Bought the solos on an offer with a macbook. Barely 12 months into use the right sided speaker/earpiece stopped working. I couldn't be bothered to get them fixed as I got them from a different country. Both the issues were widely reported and there were multiple pages with people having the same issues on beats/apple forums. I have given up forever on beats after this fiasco, I don't know what's up with QA & QC at apple but this was unacceptable, especially for something that costs so much. Also for some reason, both the studios and solos hurt my ears after just 30 mins of use, I don't know whether it's the clamping force or the cushions.
I got a pair of sony wh-1000xm3s on sale and I love them, they are definitely way more comfortable and all round better headphones, I wish the sony's had quick switching between multiple devices though.
