I like the on ear design because it makes for more portable headphones. I have several over ear headphones at home for music production, they’re Fine but bulky af and not practical, I wouldn’t go out with them.
Watching this on my matte black Solo Pro and I'm enjoying it. I don't have a big head but my ears are a little further down so I do have to slide the headphone slider to adjust to my fit and it is very comfortable to keep on for prolonged hours. I was on a phone call with my gf for about 6 hours using the Solo Pro and I didn't feel any discomfort or whatsoever.
I have a small head and small ears, so these actually work a lot better for me than other noise cancelling headphones I've tried. For me they are pretty much over ear haha
They grip hard because people use them working out. I don’t think beats solo headphones were ever designed for sitting in an office or anything - the only place I ever see people with solos is at the gym or out on the go. Over ear headphones get very hot and much grosser at the gym than on ear. I just don’t think they’re marketed to the people in the comment section and most people misunderstand the appeal because they’re not the target audience. They certainly sell for a reason though

Honestly, I don't get it. I just bought Studio3 headphones a few weeks ago and I'd return them in a heartbeat for a "Studio Pro". On-ears just aren't comfortable. Honestly, even these over-ear Studio 3 headphones hurt my ears. I loved my V-Moda Crossfade headphones w/ XL pads, but the wireless mode was just too horrible on them. I'm hoping for an Apple-branded "Studio Pods" headphones or something like that.
I've owned many pairs of beats headphones usually the over a year. I've also tried the Bose qc35 and the Sony "ridiculous names" I also bought a pair of surface headphones. I'd like the way these look. But if I want noise cancelling I want over ear. And I'm just going to say this even though it's a small detail...the surface headphones ability to use that ring to adjust the level of noise cancelling you get..... Everyone copy that. These headphones look great and I hope the next pair of studios look like this. If they do and you can adjust the noise cancelling manually..... I'll get them. That said I am secretly hoping next wall Microsoft release and updated pair of the surface headphones in black or red. Because I still have them and they still sound great.
PSA: you acutally don't have to buy a $35 cable to go wired. Just use your iPhone lightning to 3.5 dongle or buy one for $9 and use it with any aux cord... pretty easy.
Returned them the same day I bought them. Uncomfortable to wear over time and overall kinda cheap sounding especially in the lowest and highest frequencies. Also the button for pausing and skipping songs, besides being akes a loud clicking sound in the headset when pushed.
If you’re plugging into a USB-C port on an iPad Pro, can you just use a lightning to USB-C cord or do you need the lightning to 3.5mm and 3.5mm to USB-C?
Better late than never. They just charge the headphones in my experience. So you’ll probably need a dual dongle. And I don’t even know if that will work 🎉

These ones are so hard to break. I literly stepped on my solo 3's and they looked like they fell off an airplane. I had these for a year now and I stepped on it again, no break.
This headphones even at this price doesn't have any customization options in terms of eq and noise cancellation no wonder it is made by Apple and falls in line perfectly with their strategy of they know what works best for people. I wish it had an eq setting and a way to adjust noise cancellation levels then it would have been a good choice for even audiophiles as they value those features.
I think Apple didn’t set up the whole take the headphones off and the music stops because some people keep them on their neck and blast music but they should have given an option
And I used them the other day mowing my lawn and I couldn’t hear the lawn mower running so they definitly do a great job of drowning out the outside noise

If these were $100 less and had USB-C and sounded any good and fit on a normal human head and came with a cable and had sensible controls and weren't made by Apple, then I'd definitely go for them.

Definitely. The Beats Studios are a much older model without the new audio sharing, and software integration with noise cancelling features. It also lacks the same ANC quality and transparency mode

The reason why this Headphones is good and is receiving a lot of attention is because Apple has put their own effort onto it. They did the same with Powerbeats Pro. And it was a success. I hate beats but I love Apple!
Owned 2 pairs of beats headphones(studio wireless 2 and last gen solos), both of them had issues. Dropped connection all the time with studios, never quite figured out why. The firmware upgrades were supposed to fix the issue, but it didn't. Bought the solos on an offer with a macbook. Barely 12 months into use the right sided speaker/earpiece stopped working. I couldn't be bothered to get them fixed as I got them from a different country. Both the issues were widely reported and there were multiple pages with people having the same issues on beats/apple forums. I have given up forever on beats after this fiasco, I don't know what's up with QA & QC at apple but this was unacceptable, especially for something that costs so much. Also for some reason, both the studios and solos hurt my ears after just 30 mins of use, I don't know whether it's the clamping force or the cushions. I got a pair of sony wh-1000xm3s on sale and I love them, they are definitely way more comfortable and all round better headphones, I wish the sony's had quick switching between multiple devices though.
But seriously, if you (somehow) want to create music or edit videos while wearing these "pro" headphones ... how are you supposed to have right synchronization without a cable? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Was seriously considering these until I realized there's no audio jack. I love the wireless features but it's not ideal for various uses.
I have the Bose for 1,5 years now and never ever used the included cable, simply because why?
