A great 80s song with lots of saxophone is “Who can it be now” by Men at Work.
also "Rio" by Duran Duran
A whole lot of 80’songs had a saxophone involved. A beautiful sound!
You're right Crys! Saxophone solos are very special! Through the 40's & 50's songs were typically played by a "BIG BAND". Trombone, Saxaphone, and Trumpet were dominant. The electric guitar became popular with the birth of Rock in the late 50's & 60's. Very few bands have a saxophone player as a member like Bruce Springsteen does, for example. Now, we have computers that can generate the sound. 😐 I believe that's why it hits so different, like you said. When a band hires a session player (an individual artist who plays the instrument) to come in and lay down the real thing on a track it creates a whole vibe. Songs like "Bakers Street", "Careless Whisper", and "Just The Way You Are" feel so special. ❤️ Great observation, Crys!
Facts Jen!! 🔥💯
Yessssss! One of my all time favorite groups and songs.
It’s been in movies and TV shows over the years. I love guitar 🎸 but sax 🎷 has always been my favorite since childhood.
Hall and Oates- Private Eyes, Adult Education, Out of Touch, You Make My Dreams Come True
Don't forget Family Man.
What makes the sound so different from the other two earlier Hall & Oates songs that you reacted to is that Maneater is from their 80s period when they adopted the 80s sound and production techniques. The other two were from the 70s. Hall & Oates two biggest hits in the 80s were Maneater and Out of Touch. If it's the soul sound that really moves you, you must definitely listen to the High Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone. Elton John called the "the greatest" and David Bowie practically worshiped her. That doesn't even begin to touch on her influence on black musicians. To get some idea of the power of her music, you might want to check-out her live recording of "Mississippi Goddam"from the 60s - ruclips.net/video/LJ25-U3jNWM/видео.html
or, for something quite different "He Ain't Comin Home No More" - ruclips.net/video/SDufEYVEZ1A/видео.html
Preach!
Man how we loved this song! Another great song with GREAT Saxophone parts: Foreigner's "URGENT" 🔥
Hall and Oates owned the fucking world for a good long time. Wanna understand what the NBA was like in the '80s? Find the NBA promo that uses Hall and Oates' One one One as the music for the montage. Hall and Oates is what it was all about, and still is, and forever will be.
Check out “Live from Daryl’s house”. Daryl Hall plays with other (new and old) musicians, and it’s awesome. He’s in his 70s and can still sing.
2nd'ed. Was about to write my own comment. Artists just freelancing through their songs.
Cee Lo Green's appearance was 🔥!
@@rmcclain124 That Cee Lo set is legendary. Daryl's band and him doing 'F*ck You' 🔥🔥🔥
"Your kiss is on my list," "Rich Girl," "Out of touch," "Private eyes," "You make my dreams come true,"...
I love how they layer their songs.. so many sounds come in laying over each other.
#1 Duo of all time.
Theres a lot of good 80s songs with a saxophone in it. You belong to the city by Glenn Frey, Dance Hall Days by Wang Chung, Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, Harden my Heart by Quarterflash just for a few. I got a playlist with a bunch of these kind of songs.
Hall and Oates were a very diverse group. Many of their songs sounded different from one another. This is because of all the various and diverse styles they borrowed from.
The saxophone was in a lot of 80's songs. I think it adds a different dimension and quality.
I love you kiddos so much!... Keep listening and so will I!
Your reactions are real, no BS you either like it or you don't, I appreciate that. Please listen to them do a cover of Billy Paul's Me and Mrs Jones. Live 2003
Have you guys heard Daryl Hall with Cee Lo Green, I can’t go for that. If not, I recommend it!
You kids REALLY need to check out Daryl’s House. Especially the one with Cee Lo Greene as his guest. Please, enjoy.
INDEED!
Their 70's stuff is even better. They were never cool, never given too much respect by their peers at the time - but now, most can look back and say they had an excellent and were talented in their genre - white soul pop?
I like when new the new ara or anyone lesson ot music before you where born I love all kinds of music there's a quote I always like without music life would be a mistake💯🔥❤️take that to the heart
A tenor sax can be, without a doubt, the sexiest instrument there is. Of course it depends on the context of the song involved. But it's summed up by the lyrics found in a Dire Straits song, Expresso Love: "I was made to go with my girl just like a saxophone was made to go with the night."
The baseline always hits
"Out of Touch" and "Adult Education" are good also.
You want a "SARA SMILE" VIBE YOU HAVE TO DO "ONE ON ONE" BY HALL N OATS....DOES NOT GET MORE SOULFUL THAN THAT!!!!!
That saxophone tho
Hall and Oates ruled the 80's pop airwaves
How I love these Philly guys. Making PA proud since the 70’s. Check out Philly’s Todd Rundgren too 😊
AMBER HEARD. Nice reaction this is one of my fav Blue Eyed Soul groups ty both for your reaction, But can you 2 react to Hall & Oates "One on One" I remember them playing this song slow jams on the radio
there are women like what he's describing.. I had one... She really tore my world apart.. thing is I knew if any women could really eff me up is was her and we got married.. and it happened .. she did it....
Darryl Hall is touring this month - I'm gutted I'm in the UK and can't catch one of his concerts, because he's teaming up with the fantastic Todd Rudgren. The two have been friends and collaborators since the 1970s. If you can, catch some of Darryl's live sets from his house with different guests on YT - they are amazing. Two of my favourites are Darryl's and Todd's rendition of Todd's hits from the 1970s, "I Saw The Light" and "Can We Still Be Friends". The first is just uplifting and will put a huge smile on your face. The second is heartbreaking and beautifully sung by them both.
Todd Rundgren (also touring this year - sob) himself is a genius. Multi talented musician and songwriter, one of the earliest pioneers of prog rock and electronic music. (And apart from all that - his interesting personal life as the step father of Liv Tyler). I'd love you to listen to "Hello It's Me" which has featured in a few TV series (most recently it featured heavily in "And Just Like That"). There's a great live version on YT from a TV special from the 70s. It's a beautiful song.
If you want a flute solo check out "Locomotive Breath" from Jethro Tull
If u want cool sax in music please check out Urgent by Foreigner and You belong to the City by Glenn Fry. Junior Walker played the solo in Urgent and he is one of the greatest of all time
Have always loved these guys and yes the sax, 🔥🔥 Another great song besides the ones already listed is Hall & Oates Me And Mrs Jones
I love me a good guitar solo, but the sax solo can add some soul, a smoothness, or a jazz flare that are difficult to do on guitars.
You guys are so funny. I was your age when H&O brought this song to us. You guys just don't get it. Too bad that you missed the mark on this one. Maybe in another life time.
Memories.
Rich Girl is a must to react to by Hall and Oates!
Much more pop sounding.
If I remember correctly, they were the only white band on Motown records at the time.
The 80s was full of saxophones. Try "Rio" by Duran Duran or "Where Did Your Heart Go?" by Wham! Those are a couple of my favorites.
Lol she so happy when he interrupts then says something stupid
This is probably their biggest hit! In the early 80's, they were HUGE!
This album came out when I was in Jr high. My first rock concert. City I grew up in, Toledo, Ohi, never had many bands play there because we are smack between Cleveland and Detroit, but Hall and Oates ALWAYS played our city. I still have this album from when I was 12 years old. Great album. I had a big crush on Daryl Hall because of his voice. He's only gotten better - as if that's possible- through the years because he never stopped playing, perfecting his craft, and that work shows. .
A amazing saxophone song is by INXS called What you need.. I enjoy watching both of you.
this song and this album was fire!
Daryl's House, Ceelo Green featured
At Daryl's House I Can't Go For That 🔥🔥💯
They are from Philly and Philadelphia has the best soul musical artists! Something in the water 💧❤️🎵❤️
Detroit might dispute that.
Philadelphia Blue Eyed Soul
In the 70's when I was a little kid, I remember RICH GIRL was my first favorite Hall and oates song. Then in the 80's PRIVATE EYES and MANEATER and SAY IT AINT SO were my favorites. Had the private eyes and say it aint so 45 records. My cousins and I loved private eyes, it became our song.
Dance with a stranger - the invisible man.
If you're looking for some excellent saxophone stuff, I can highly recommend "Tears for Fears - The Working Hour" or if you dig instrumentals "Sade - Siempre hay esperanza". Some of the finest!
This song sounds a lot like “part time lover” by Stevie Wonder.
You need to do a reaction of Live from Daryls house. They are awesome
Oh' What's that Motown album? My first rap album was The Sugar Hill Gang 8TH Wonder, Rappers Delight was the radio song but we partied to 8th Wonder. Crazy how many songs you here that came out after in one album side!
I know y'all like that 80's vibe, give "Something about You" by Level 42 a spin ya might dig that kinda soulful funky groove they play !👍🏽
You say you think someone covered this? Maybe your thinking of man-eater by nelly furtardo produced by Timberland in 06
All of their music is Fire! I love Daryl Hall and Ceelo Green, “I can’t go for that” it’s on repeat a lot for me. ❤️
Genesis invisible touch
You should really react to the 1986 video Daryl Hall - Someone Like You
You guys really do such an amazing job sharing about the song. Nodding for views should be the name of the channel.
歌單裡的神曲之一,也超級推薦他們的Out of Touch、Adult Education、Mothod Of Morden Love和Possession Obsession
Definitely agree saxophone sounds the BEST
Daryl Hall and John Oates maneater that was one of the most classic songs they done but it's sad because they don't talk anymore😊
Check out ‘Baker Street’ by Gerry Rafferty, best saxophone song ever..:)
Classic!
Awful reaction guys, especially the girl. But thanks anyway for reacting to this good song
For more soulful music but with a more synth sound, please react to Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody (Official Video). It's a great 80s hit with a glorious melody and beautiful voice!
You guys should check out Waiting For. A Girl Like You by Foreigner
I play GTA vice city just to drive around and listen to hall & Oates -OUT OF TOUCH
👏😂I love it!!
This is what they made us listen to on the radio and MTV... It was ok... I guess🤷♂️
John Oates best song, in which he is the lead singer instead of Daryl Hall, is “Possession Obsession”. A real vibe.
Sara Smile is classic
John Oates, the guy playing the white fender, said he originally wrote this song as a reggae song. You can kinda hear it
Hall & Oates were my favorite back in the 80's when it wasn't cool to admit it.
This from the 80s!! Imo their best stuff came in the 70s "She's gone" and "One on one" are both vibes😊
Talk about everything but the meaning in the song!😂
You should listen to "Out Of Touch" by Hall and Oates, its a great tune.
Signal not noise. Don’t be a man eater and break my boy’s heart. If you are in it to win it, okay. Just a shout out for a brother from another mother.
It's a privilege to born in the mid 80s , watching this song on tv not like a classic
Everything's about sax.
how come the girl in his videos always look's like she's gonna cry or she's on drugs ?
Man, I so with the saxophone would make a comeback.
I LOVVVE Hall and Oates. Always have. Such musical talent! ❤️
Please react to Tom Scott - Today. 🎷 masterpiece
Ridiculously talented musicians 🔥
Do Oran juice jones the rain it's a good story telling song
For saxophone solo, Sade Smooth Operator..
I'd like to know if there will be no more reactions to the beatbox, right?
You guys need to check out “She’s Gone” ❤️🔥
Do “who can it be now” by Men at work, and “rio” by duran duran
Love Hall and Oats, check out Everything your heart desires.
🎷 🎷 🔥 80s 🔥 🎷 🎷
You Make My Dreams Come True is great also
Where do people suggest songs to you? Im new here.
Hey Guys do one on one by Hall and Oates
React to Out of Touch by Hall and Oates. I’ve recommended it a couple times. Maybe this time it will go through!! 😂 You won’t be disappointed
White boys got soul!
A classic from Hall & Oates
I hope you continue reacting to them :-)
Regards from Chile!!
Private Eyes and You Make my Dreams Come True are two more well worth checking out. BOTH bangers! Cheers from Canada :)
when these guys were popular the NHL's chicago blackhawks had dennis hull and adam oates on the same line. Everybody had a lot of fun with that
