Spoilers: I love the creativity ITS ABSOLUTELY BAFFLING, someone that doesn't normally look into link click intros as I do will not get this but I'd suggest you watch all of it before reading this. This whole intro is *NOT* centered around Cheng Xiaoshi but rather it's actually around Lu Guang, it's in his perspective! If you watch the last episode of season two, you understand. Lu Guang wants to save Cheng Xiaoshi by diving back in time to the very beginning!! What do we see in this song? We see the whole song being reversed, seeing Cheng Xiaoshi ascend from the water and Lu Guang starting over again. Then the moment they touch hands, the beat drops, and everything unfolds all over again and this time Lu Guang isn't in the last half of the intro because, Cheng Xiaoshi is the one going through all the hell over and over. Then as he crashes into the water we see beautiful colors everywhere surrounding him, well those colors represent *blood* and he continues sinking resembling his inevitable end. This shows us that, Lu Guang, no matter how many times he goes back to the very beginning it'll all be the same, he CAN'T change Cheng Xiaoshi's fate.. no matter how many times he goes back to the beginning it all results to the same fate as Cheng Xiaoshi falls through all the chaos meeting his inevitable end.. 1:04

It's seriously so genius that the animation can be played both regularly and reversed and still look natural/normal. Usually when something is reversed it looks weird cause things flow the wrong way, but not this! And I like that just the vocals get reversed but not the instrumental because it still sounds like good music
This is the most unique opening I've ever watched. They never fail to amaze me. And the idea of reversing the chorus is incredible. I just love everything about Link Click. This needs more recognition.

One thing that hurts so much is that Lu Guang largely helped Cheng Xiaoshi's anxiety and was an impulse controller of sorts (phone away, getting boba, etc.) and now he's DEAD (if even out for a bit) , additionally in a major traumtic manner. Cheng Xiaoshi;s gonna have a rough time. Qiao ling too. Gonna be rough watching them face all this stress. God, let my trio have some rest after this.
I think the last time i ever like an anime opening was for chainsaw man. I know this is a donghua but man, this series is such a game changer and this has got to be my fav opening so far
