Because sadly Donghua are excluded from the anime awards. I hope one day this show gets the widespread recognition it deserves, but so long as anime needs to come from the anime region of Japan to not be considered sparkling animation, that recognition won't come from there.

I don't think it's even hyperbolic to say this is one of the best animated openings ever. This, along with the Heavenly Delusions OP by Weilen Zhang, Magical Destroyers OP by Kenichi Kutsuna, and the JJK S2 OP by Yuki Kamiya are the best OPs in terms of sheer production quality (not talking about the actual songs).

Link Click is so criminally underrated, it hurts. This show changed something within me so deeply, on so many levels. Gave me excitement, curiosity and hype, gave me trauma, made me love the characters so carefully, and then broke my heart into the tiniest pieces with just one simple line. And the intro's just foreshadow it all, and you realize it too late, always. I appreciate it so much for every single detail. Also, this show makes me scared for every new season, yet here I am, just addicted to how well-done it is and to my new life-goal of just seeing the MC's be happy.
Same like Its a nice break from all those fighting anime’s. Thats why I love Link Click and The apothecary Diaries.
It's a crime that this masterpiece doesn't have millions of views already. It's such an incredible opening, especially in the context of the series (which also deserves so much more attention).

@@bloodninja2517 I think the issue is that it's a Donghua. They're not popular or well known in the anime or even mainstream animation community.
I'm blown away by the fact that this OP only starts to make sense when, ironically, the reverse chorus starts and the lyrics become incomprehensible. The timeline itself is becoming twisted and incomprehensible with all the dives. And at the center of it all is Cheng Xiaoshi trying to keep his head above the water. Really amazing, The animation has never looked better! So much looking forward to this season 2!
Bai Sha JAWS the band for this Song (and S1 OP for that matter) needed 6 months to create this chorus!! They were struggling with creating a chorus that would work and sound good in reverse, but in the end they figured it out and the results are fantastic. Honestly such a unique approach to a song

Last season he was "diving" in time, now he is just "falling" in time, uncontrolled.
This really fits the storyline because at the end of season 1 probably second to last episode when the perpetrator was arrested they thought it was finished but when we were left on a cliff hanger because lu guang was supposedly killed they are now the victims
I think this represents the emotions he has to deal with when he dives.. it must be so hard

realising this now, but watching lu guang being unable to catch cheng xiaoshi and watching him continuously fall makes so much sense after ep 12… also the vending machine toy falling from the claw references how lu guang cannot change fate

I love the JJK opening. I love the My Happy Marriage opening. And I'm hyped to see Zom 100s opening. But this...? This right here is a god damn masterpiece of an opening. And if you play the reverse part in reverse, some of the lyrics change and it's insanely creepy.
Somei (OP director) is a wizard. Only explanation for this OP being this incredible. If you haven't seen Link Click, let this be the reason. This has so many hidden parts and symbolism that are crucial from S1.

i think this is the best intro i've ever seen. Just wow. The animations, all these elements, the song(damn the part reversed it's so brilliant), the fact that this is so chaotic but you perfectly understand what's happening. Just wow. Link click never fails

Ok as an intro. Gigguk would nut to this. The way how it starts with this rising action with the audio playing forward and its not until half way through where the music starts playing backwards and you see in reverse that the roles were switched the whole time. The film was in reverse while the music plays forward only to turn and show that he was falling. The music going backwards to the truth of whats happening when he starts to plunge backwards.

The OP is INCREDIBLY! The ED too. The animation of the Ed is actually telling a pretty sad story about a guy who created a Time Machine to see his dead wife but people want it too so he hid it and got killed. Idk if anyone noticed the lyrics at 1:00 « knowing it all am I destined to fall, like once you did for me ». Too much info. These lyrics make me feel that Lu Guang (white hair) is actually from the future and that Chen Xiaoshi (black hair ) died in that future. If you heated the ED there’s a Chinese part where it said ”当你醒来我已不在” which means when I wake up, you are no longer there. Right now I’m just gonna pray that no one’s gonna die and listen to my friend and stop analyzing these songs like I’m analyzing some text for my final exams.

Ok I’m not going to lie I’m on my millionth rewatch of this opening. But also - I realized that the “reverse” part of the song and animation are not 1 for 1 with the forward part. They cut some things out, probably for better flow but just thought it was cool and wanted to share.
This opening is simply a work of art. The reversed lyrics alongside the events playing in reverse, coupled with the objectively stunning animation quality, make a memorable piece of art. Easily 10/10 from me.

Actually after ending the second season i can appreciate more the details as the reverse on animation and the detail that Cheng and Lu touching to be back, because oh yeah they're so back in time.

Watching this after finishing the series and everything in the op makes so much sense. This op deserves an award much less a nomination.
I'm genuinely shocked to see this opening. Some animes nail the animation while most nail the music. But both? That's quite rare. I don't know anything about this anime and it filled me with a strong desire to watch the anime. Good job. Amazing.

This is a great example of top tier animation and editing! Fantastic use of stylization bringing the confusion of time travel to life. Planning out the animation to work both forward and when played backward fits so well with the theme and plot of the show being about time travel. Even the song uses lyrics played backwards and its very clever to choose to make the song go backward when the physics in the animation seems to be going forward. It all just adds to the theme of the fractured nature of time travel.

I'm obsessed with this OP, i didn't think i'd enjoy it nearly as much as the first one but they nailed it. So excited for this season!

Okay after watching this after so many -lost count- times, I noticed that the visuals at first are in reverse while the song is normally played, but when the audio is played in reverse the visuals are normally played, which is an interesting detail, because so many focused on the reversed audio and missed the trick played on the visuals. Maybe some of you caught it at first, but I did after watching it several times and focused on other details of this Op. Plus Lu Guang is present at the first part when the audio is played normally and this is the only part where him and Xiaoshi are falling while in the rest of the first part Xiaoshi looks like he's "ascending", in opposition to the second part with the reversed audio where Lu Guang is missing completely and it's only Xiaoshi falling. There are a bunch of other details too but I'm not going on a whole analysis mode here. I wonder what could this mean plot wise though... Doesn't look very bright... I'm not ready to be devastated again with the plot twists and the cliffhangers of this show, but it's definitely the exact same thing that makes it so intriguing and thrilling to make you keep watching!

Link Click was the first Chinese anime I watched, and my goodness, it was absolutely outstanding. I never thought any other outside anime Japan can be this great. Eagerly waiting for season 3 and Link Click surely opened my eyes that only Japanese anime aren't the best and so now I will explore outside Japan animes too.
