If trading makes it easier for newer players to make the decks that they want more quickly, that is a huge win ... Even if it doesn't help with getting full art cards.
trading was always going to do that, so this is the worst of all scenarios. the fact it helps the stingy and broke people that don't finance the game is irrelevant. Does it please the paying client base? No
This is fine to me I understand why it's not every type of card and should be able to finish sets if not the full arts. But is a bit frustrating as I have lots of some full arts and non of the other which would be nice to even it out.
This is solved if you can change ** x ** , and crown for crown , so at least you will have to give the similar value, and the diamond and * , are exchanged between them
Every youtube video I've watched on this is saying people aren't happy, yet every comment I see is people saying they're fine with it lmao. Not sure who expected two star and above to be trade eligible. It would make alt accounts overpowered, create a real money marketplace, and break the game. This is more than acceptable.
I think crown rare cards should be the only ones you can’t trade. It’s would really upset players including myself to not be able to trade with others for full art cards I’ve been wanting to get.
They said the trading would be limited at first back in November. Once we get more cards, we’ll probably get higher rarity trading eventually. The game is still so fresh, so there’s plenty of time.
I mostly expected two stars and above to be excluded from trades. The real question is if we are allowed to trade the promo rare cards. I started the game late and missed the first promos (Lapras, Clefairy etc.)

I get why that restriction would be in place, but it's still a little frustrating, especially when the two-star full-art cards are more rare than the three-star immervise art cards. If it's a money issue, then maybe they could make the premium pass a little more appealing by letting subscribers trade higher rarity cards? It's not as big of a moneymaker as restricting the trade of those cards outright and it might upset some players, but at least it's still bringing in some revenue and it's cheaper than spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on packs.
@@iufanboy5970 Sure you're more likely to get a 2 star card in a pack than a 3 star card, but in Mystical Island for example, you have a higher chance of getting an immersive art Celebi than any individual 2 star full art. It says as much on the Offering Rates page in the game itself.

It's done already .. and how about 2 rare cards ?? There is about 39 cards needed u want to trade .. That's the LOGIC .. DUHHH
If trading makes the game more free to play friendly, I'm ok with the higher rarity cosmetic cards being a bit exclusive. I just wish that there was some small gameplay benefit to opening duplicte 2+ star cards. Not being able to use those duplicates for anything other than flair makes what should be an exciting pull feel kinda awful.
The exclusive black and gold cosmetics are there to exchange special shop tickets for too, but then again it may be that higher star cards become tradable down the line.

as a pretty low spending player, i don't mind this, since i feel the game is really generous in terms of acquiring all the cards to be able to play them rare arts are neat, but they don't add any value to my collection in my eyes. they are just cosmetics, if you look at them like that, you understand how free to play games are monetized. it's the cosmetics. i think it's really fair. i find it easy to complete every set (aside from rare arts) by only getting the premium pass. i have over 500 hourglasses saved for the next set, which says a lot
Immersive restrictions is highly disappointing. I have 4 immersive celebi's and was really hoping to get my hands on the rainbow border aerodactyl (which is my favorite art in the game rn) and a immerisve Pikachu which is the only immersive im missing. Not trading crown rares is understandable but immersives too feels gutting.
I'm ok with it. I whaled out big time on Genetic Apex and Mythical Island, so I should have enough dupes to build any future decks I want without spending money for years to come.
Diamond cards and 1 star cards are fine, because we can still trade EX cards. The restriction on 2 star cards sucks a bit only because the full art trainers are in there.
i am also fine with it as I just play decks for fun so as long as they don't restrict us to trade a card after getting it a certain amount of time, I am really fine with it!!

I think the limitation is just nice. Caters to F2P and still make money from those who will spend for packs. Maybe when more expansions are online, they might open a new trade for whales to trade 2 stars and above.
For a person pulling 5 mew ex and 0 gyarados ex and missing a second copy of a lot of 3 diamond cards the trading system is a lot of what i was expecting
In order to prevent real-life money transactions, they could just add an even swap policy on the rarer cards so u trade a crown for a crown. The lower rares (1-3 diamonds) trade whatever. I wish I had a card converter option personally. Sack a card and get the pack points so I could craft the card I actually WANT. Instead of just getting 5 points per pack, allow the option to sack cards for the craft points. Those water ex pokemon evade me like a leprechaun or unicorn. I had to pay the 500 points per to get that Articuno ex.

I think there should be be able to trade 2 stars for 2 stars if anything. The more restrictions they put on it the worse it’ll be. No one is gonna buy into trading if you can’t even get what you want. Same with the botting for got packs. If you want to do more than one like every two weeks you gotta pay into it either way. MTGO has had unrestricted trading for close to 30 years and still going today.
As a f2p player since day 1, I long gave up hope of ever completing the full card dex, I don't even wonderpick for 2 stars anymore. I'm focused on getting two copies of every diamond and 1 star card so being able to trade just those would definitely be fine for me. Have some cards that keep dropping and others that just won't show up for me so I'm hoping other f2p players have the same problem with different cards. To be honest it looks like the game would bore me very quickly if I dropped some money on it and had 12 copies of every card on day 1.
if it is true, that sucks.. if they HAVE to do this hopefully it only applies if your account has only one copy of them? like after you get two copies of say a rainbow boarder mew then you can get more of them? Idk.. still seems stupid to me
All I want is 2 copies of every EX so this is fine for me. Still haven't pulled 2nd Exeggutor EX, 2nd Machamp EX, and any Starmie EX despite a LOT of F2P pulling Zard packs and getting 4 Moltres EX. And I only have one Arcanine EX. Also, I have found that some 3 diamond cards STUBBORNLY refuse to come home. It took me until the end of December to get a second Gardevoir.

why do people say this game is f2p friendly? it takes 500 pack points to craft a SINGLE ex and pack points cant be used on different packs... there is no duplicate protection so if u get lucky and pull an ex or star but you already have copies, oh well better luck next time! want to know what a real f2p game would look like? not charging or putting a time gate behind obtaining all cards meaning EVERYONE has access to 2 copies of each card so we can all play the decks we want.
When I still had the free premium pass, I bought some Gold two times, and stopped afterwards. P2P is just not (for me at least). I understand not trading for Crown Rares, but you should be able to trade for 1 or 2 Stars imo. They are rare enough as is, but also sometimes not really. Like, I have three Rapidash Full Art. As annoying as it is, I do understand the 3 rule if that's the case, but a third one of these cards does NOT help in any way so at least allow me to trade for another Full Art I don't have, you know? I like battling, but collecting is more important to me... Using Pack Points really is not an option for most of the things either. I have calculated that I need 69935 Pack Points to buy EVERYTHING I need from A1 and Mythical Island. That's absurd. Of course, I will be able to pull enough so this number will go down, but it'll take a long time and by that time, we're already deep in A2.

Definetly sucks becuase if you get too many of the cards it feels worthless as even the glam you can add to them doesnt feel worthwhile. I wont be subbing to the game anymore if this is true. No reason to get extra packs when you can casually just get the cards and then feel punished for extras. I understand the cheaters/exploiters but if this is an issue ban them and fix the exploits. Put different kinds of restriction to stop/minimize reroll card selling. I understand Its easy to say do this and do that but lets be real, this problem highlights the devs low effort considering they have shown their push for monetization over player concerns. it was obvious on release that they intentionally did not balance the game and magically the two most popular and well known base set pokemon were also the most game breaking OP. I love pokemon but I can also say the franchise has gone to shit over the years as they have become lazier and greedier chasing dollars and moved away from keeping their brand name exceptional.
As someone who doesn't really like the full-art cards anyway, sounds good to me. The only ones I'll miss are the full art trainers; those are nice. If the whales want to spend hundreds of $ chasing the full-art stuff then great, they can fund the game for the rest of us.
As a free to play player I don’t mind this limitation. I throughly enjoy the rush of pulling a full art or rainbow rare card from a booster pack. Pokemon has always been a game of RNG and though you may have rough patches here and there nothing lasts forever. True fans play for the love of the game not just to win. Side note I play gyra-ninja and superior Celebi but with only one copy of each and i still have fun. ❤ thanks for the update Nina always love your content. Cheers~

All the base EX cards are 4 diamonds. Meaning we can play any deck. And then you are spending money for pretty art.

any of the 1star and rarer cards are all accessible in 4 diamond cards. So you can still make a deck without the Full Art and/or immersive cards
if this is the case there needs to be some way to compensate bad luck. spending in this games feels worse than any other ccg, snap included.

No reason to get extra packs when you can casually just get the cards and then feel punished for extras. I understand the cheaters/exploiters but if this is an issue ban them and fix the exploits. Put different kinds of restriction to stop/minimize reroll card selling. I understand Its easy to say do this and do that but lets be real, this problem highlights the devs low effort considering they have shown their push for monetization over player concerns. it was obvious on release that they intentionally did not balance the game and magically the two most popular and well known base set pokemon were also the most game breaking OP. I love pokemon but I can also say the franchise has gone to shit over the years as they have become lazier and greedier chasing dollars and moved away from keeping their brand name exceptional.
Disappointed but not surprised
As someone who doesn't really like the full-art cards anyway, sounds good to me. The only ones I'll miss are the full art trainers; those are nice. If the whales want to spend hundreds of $ chasing the full-art stuff then great, they can fund the game for the rest of us.
I fully support this decision if that's the case

Obviously no crown rares 😵💫 that means money and buying 1 with pack points means opening 500 packs without wasting your points 😶

As a free to play player I don’t mind this limitation. I throughly enjoy the rush of pulling a full art or rainbow rare card from a booster pack. Pokemon has always been a game of RNG and though you may have rough patches here and there nothing lasts forever. True fans play for the love of the game not just to win. Side note I play gyra-ninja and superior Celebi but with only one copy of each and i still have fun. ❤ thanks for the update Nina always love your content. Cheers~
