Anyhow - failed game projects or not, we can all agree on one thing - Re-Logic has learned from their own as well as their partnered company mistakes and now listen to the community more than ever. This is the first dark secret of a something from a popular game company that doesn’t have a very deep rabbit hole. Thank goodness too, I was worried they did some horrible stuff back then.

Although I do adore Terraria, and I mean I REALLY adore Terraria, Re-Logic NEEDS to branch out after 1.4.4 is released. Although Terraria brings them success I also want to see their creativity put into more powerful engines and different types of games.

Definitely puts a perspective on why they don’t want to stop working on this game.
On the Otherworld petition: I believe Redigit acknowledged it, but said they were unable to open source the game as they said they would, because they outsourced parts of it. Might have been nice to mention, but still good video.

I remember reading about that somewhere too. It was a message redigit sent somewhere in the depths of the terraria discord server. Not sure with svings didn’t mention it, since it’s pretty open information

Wassup. I actually found out that terraria mobile FINALLY UPDATED
I remember looking at Pixel Piracy and thinking "that looks cool", I haven't played it in a very long time
I was really upset when Terraria Otherworld got cancelled
Also I only know Pixel Privateers because a few videos of it were in the Relogic channel though I did not know Pixel Privateers had horrifying development
I learned alot of things here today

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing them do a side scrolling adventure story game (i.e. Limbo). I think they could really put their potential for story telling to the test in one, and they already have a nice engine with Terraria, they could potentially build off of it and it be amazing.

I never knew these things. Now I really love Terraria even gave my friend it yesterday. But after 1.4.4 Re-Logic really needs to do something diffrent from Terraria sure it makes them a lot of money. But the engine they are using has limits and they need to either port Terraria to a new engine and bug fix it or make a different sandbox game
They are already planning Terraria 2, this time with a much better engine so they could do everything they couldn’t with Terraria as Terraria’s engine couldn’t handle it all. They’ve stated that they are really pushing Terraria with this last update, so they’re taking suggestions for Terraria 2
whats better is it isnt owned by multibillion dollar corporations who ruin the game massively and dont listen to the community and removing everything good it has, and limiting what the community can do in a bad way
indie games are better than games owned by corporate companies, just take a look at what happened to other iconic games ruined by them for money
I hope their next project will be successful and not abandoned

for terraria other worlds, i thought since it functioned so differently it could have been turned into a puzzle game where you could edit the world and keep the survival with terraria. a good way to leach off another product but still keep it going!

There are many things that are great about terraria, despite re logic problems in the past, terraria is one game that has no cost to the player after its initial purchase on each platform, once bought you can play and get updates at no additional cost (dlc microtransactions and so on) to the player which is great.

If You Remembered Ocram In Console/Mobile 1.2 It Has A Weird Backstory(?). If You Reverse "Ocram". It Will Turn Into "Marco". Marco Probably Left Re-Logic And The Devs Decided To Remove Ocram As A Boss.

I still remember how 14 year old me was excited about terraria: otherworld.
When the cancellation was announced i really wanted to believe that it was just a late april fools joke. I'm still upset about it to this day.
I noticed that the title name 1.3 update trailer is called good. Bad. I'm the guy with the yoyo while ash in army of darkness says the same thing but the word yoyo is replaced to gun.

I was worried that this was going to be one of those generic “___ exposed!” hearsay videos, but I am VERY pleasantly surprised to see that is not the case for this one.
There are a lot of game companies that can't make another game. Makes me think of Runescape. Jagex tried so hard to make other games (still trying) but all failed and died early.
I'll start stating that you do have a good touch for storytelling. While I knew the projects by name, the way you presented like a documentary you would see in a sensationalist journal was very engaging. Secondly, I hope everyone appreciates the research you made for this, there was some good mining done there. Lastly, I only use your English subtitles but much respect for putting out seven options of your own!
Thank you so much for noticing the effort! It was a challenge to translate the subtitles, but hopefully it will be worth it in the long run :D I only knew 3 of the languages, I had some awesome people help me out.

otherworld was discontinued because the game didn't function. it was beyond broken. I asked a developer about it. They quite literally couldn't fix the game.
I remember the time that Re-Logic don't want a Terraria sequels because it's not their vision, the whole idea of getting a sequel got scrapped. But then years later, that "proof of concept" had made it to a different game called StarBound exist.
There are so many re-logic "pixel" games, like pixel piracy and pixel privateers. What's next? Pixel Piranha....

The fate of Otherworld is what has me most pessimistic about redigits mentions of “Terraria 2 ideas”
for a sec I started to think this was the start of a marvel movie but terraria
I really, REALLY hope they manage to work well on making Terraria 2. It could be promising
overall I think it was just a one hit wonder situation, you can see the idea of terraria in the othergames and once they found a game that was gold they continued to support it. Even now with terraria about to receive its final final final update, alot of people (including me) doubts that this is the grand finale of terraria. I would be excited to see another game besides a 2d pixel boss run survival game from relogic or a reimaginen version of otherworld

I remember playing pixel piracy as a kid...I did not know about terarria or relogic at that time.Although i did not understand much about it but i thought it was really cool due to the ship building system.

sounds like a couple of these really were just re-logic choosing the wrong developers to support rather than re-logic themselves doing something nefarious
