- I have so much love for this skirt, I hope you like it.
For this size small (waist 26) I used medium weight acrylic yarn, 5 and a half balls (50g each)
2.5mm hook

@@charitywaigwe8463 it’s clear that the waist measurements ( which we are using here) are smaller than your hips measurements. So it won’t pass over your hips, it has no zipper. Do you get it?

Yes, exactly. the whole waist band is made in HDC back loop
Thank you Agnes. For me l am Learning for the first time so I have alot of questions . Now when doing crocheting the skirts, do you only have to use HDC and single crochet or it was your choice to pick on any type of crochet to use.

When you stretch it after your rows of increase , it should stretch to your hips measurements

Your work means alot to us . I have learnt alot from you Agnes. Now my question is when making a decrease at the back, you choose any point where to decrease from or you count many stitches you have made before you could reach the second decrease.
I just estimate, I don don’t count the stitches

What a gorgeously made skirt! Flawless drape, and the ruffles? Just right! I'm going to try to make this either with my Bernat or Red Heart medium weight yarns. However, I want mine not as tight but not too wide, and knee-length like a ruffled hem print skirt I have. Where do I start the increases or just what do I do? Please.

If you don’t want it to be tight, then make a few more increasing and none increasing rows. and reduce less stitches than I did in the tutorial. Can’t tell you exactly how many coz I have never done such, but you can gauge as you go using your tape measure. Start increasing on row 3

Hello, keep increasing until the point when you stretch the skirt it, it stretches to that 46 inches.

A heartbreak 😀, 2 years ago , was kinda depressed and I tried to crochet and realized it’s the only thing that could help me with my anxiety and stress. I had a little background of crocheting in school from about 20 yrs ago. Saw some inspiration designs on Instagram and tried them out and I got addicted.

Please I have a very important question, I did the ten decreases and my skirt got so hipsy and the back line seemed to slant… so after joining those two front loops together, do I do the half DC on the space where i hooked the second front loop from or skip those two entirely.
Also, I’m way smaller than the size in the video, my bands are only 38, do I need to do 5 decreases on 10 lines?
Please let me know the timestamp you are referring to, because I don’t understand your first question of hdc in the first front loop. Yes you decrease 5 rows, but you can always try on your skirt as you work to see if it fits, if you need more decreases or not.

After yarning over and going into the two front loops, pulling through two loops and then pulling through the three at once.
Now my confusion is where to put the next stitch. At first I was putting in the same space I took the second front loop from but it didn’t look like what you were doing, so I skipped those two spaces where I took the front loops from and put in the third, then it looked too hipsy.
I continued though, I am at the ruffle part.
It may end up coming together nicely but I want to be certain for future projects.

@@Philosopher_Queen you are basically working 1 hdc in 2 stitches hence making a decrease. Of course when you come back on the next row, you work in that one stitch. Or you can just decrease as you normally do if you find this confusing.

It’s a total of 13 rows of decrease

Hi I have a question do it matter the thickness of the yarn 🧶 and how big the hook is because I’m using a bigger hook and it looks longer I’m not sure if I’m trippin or not
I’ve included measurements, so if using a bigger yarn, you can judge how many rows depending on how long you want your skirt to be compared to how many inches I have on mine.

This is a really good tutorial but Idk what I’m doing wrong🥺 I’ve watched it over and restarted my skirt about 3 or 4 times and it’s just not working out for me😩 If you have any tips or anything, that would be great.
My first attempt….. somehow, the skirt started getting wider and I realized while I was half-way done it was going to be too big for me☹️
Then another time…… I adjusted the measurements and before I was finished I noticed that it would be too small, even at full stretch🥺
I kept restarting it but I can’t seem to get the measurements right🤔
And I’m getting a bit confused when I start moving down the skirt after the waistband 😓
If anyone has a helpful tips or advice please help a girl out🥺🙏🏽
5 rows of no increase, then start to increase on both hip sides, alternate between a row of increase and a row of no increase till the skirt stretches to fit your hips measurements ( if you measure from side to side it should be half of those measurements) then 5 rows of no increase and after that start to decrease.
Take notice of how I start and end my rows too

There’s no different stitch, it’s all HDC, just move stitch marker

Ohh I get what you are asking, it doesn’t have to be right above where you put your first on the previous row, simply try to keep in in the same line. As long as it’s along the the hip side

Hi I need help. So I've been doing this @11:00 step of placing the half double crochet in the space below the chain 2. And my skirt is becoming very sharp at that point. I notice that that sharpness is there slightly in the tutorial...but mine is noticeably sharp and I'm not sure it'll "go away" by the time I'm done with the skirt...have I done something wrong?
