Satyajit Ray received the Ramon Magsaysay Award long time back and H.H.The Dalai Lama got the same award today. What a coincidence. One of Asia's highest honors, reversing the spirit demonstrated by people and organizations through altruistic and selfless dedication to the people of Asia. Asians who stand out in their profession and have a reputation for voluntarily serving others without seeking public awareness are eligible for the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

I want to express my gratitude once again for uploading such stimulating artistry in your interviews Smriti. I grew up with French cinema and discovered Satyajit Ray in the process. I was lucky to see and hear Ravi Shankar perform at the age of 90 in Australia where I am based. His works were sensorially intelligent, like those of this incredible artist Mira Nair. She has been so inspirational with her extraordinary ability to write the human experience. The vulnerabilities in her characters have been so relatable. I have long remembered them. I can't wait to watch.xx

Not these days, the last pioneer was Rituparno Ghosh. Nowadays absolutely mediocre stuff is getting too much mileage cause the bar now is really low, at least in Bengal film industry.
