  • Lake George this year has had below par wind and the water level has been higher with less weed so the water surface has not been mirror flat, non the less this was a good days sailing at Packin Point at the top of the lake, a great place to speed Windsurf.

    Wow Glen what an awesome video! And what a great place. Did you get some speed readings? Some runs looked super fast!

      Hey Rob, thanks, yep it was a good day, I did close to 35 knts and there was at least one 40 knt speed for one of the sailors, lots in the high 30's. The wind isn't as strong this year, probably due to all the cyclones up north.

    How much rake do your weed fins need to work here?
    Be nice to see a clip of the fins used.

      @uhaggar  10 месяцев назад

      Hey Barney I am not a fin expert but I believe you need around a 45 degrees rake. The 2 most common fins are the Atomic Nuclear weed and the Tectonics Speed Demon these are both delta fins. The other fins used are super weeds which are made by Tribal and Atomic. There will be others but they are the ones I am familiar with. Hope this helps mate

    Is kitesurfing banned here? Or is that video more than 20 years old 😅?
    Amazing to see that boards are going very slightly sideways, which is totally normal in fact due the fin profile and its angle of attack.

    • @uhaggar
      @uhaggar  Месяц назад +1

      People kite surf there rarely as I am told tricky as the kite ropes can get caught in the weed

      @@uhaggar makes sense now, thank you! Seaweed on kite lines can be a nightmare. But it wouldn’t turn me out of trying this marvelous spot, if I had the possibility, with my beloved tiki

    What Speed at what Wind Speed?

    • @uhaggar
      @uhaggar  9 месяцев назад +1

      Probably 20 to 30 knts wind and most speeds high 30 knts and a few 40 knts . Not the best conditions compared to usual
