Is the PENTECOST River Crossing a Caravan Stopper ?
Is the Pentecost Crossing on the Gibb River Road a Caravan stopper ?
Well it can be if the track is chewed up from a Road Train a few weeks earlier watch to find out.
We watched cars with campers and vans cross for quite some time, many got stuck. We lowered our tyre pressures and thought we could cross but we were wrong, we were lucky that there was a nice man by the name of Fraser who could give us a tug out, it was an experience ! Oh and dont forget the river does have Salt Water Crocodiles for added excitement !

El Questro - Zebedee Springs, Amalia Gorge, Emma Gorge, Waterfalls and Water Crossings
Просмотров 1513 месяца назад
Not every one likes El Questro with some saying that it is too crowded and over commercialised, but the gorges are just stunning ! We checked out Zebedee Hot Springs, Amalia Gorge, Emma Gorge and other sights as well. The road in was very rough and corrugated but no worse than the Gibb River Road and there were several water crossings, any 4WD and most caravans will make the trip in OK.

Lake George Windsurfing on Glass 2023 - A light wind session launching from 5 Mile, early morning light and mirror flat water in parts of the lake makes for beautiful viewing. The water is mirror flat because the lake is very shallow with thick weed so you must use a dedicated weed fin. In this session the wind was a little over 15 knots. The lake is in Australia. Featuring John, Phil, Jason, D...
Ewens Ponds South Australia
Просмотров 414Год назад
Ewens Ponds between Mount Gambia and Port McDonald in South Australia is an easy way to dive in some clear fresh water to see some stunning underwater scenery. Its quite cold with the water around 16 degrees C so you will need a good wetsuit, just float or swim through the 3 ponds and take in the scenery. Pond 3 is the most picturesque so make sure that you watch to the end of the video. These ...

Is kitesurfing banned here? Or is that video more than 20 years old 😅? Amazing to see that boards are going very slightly sideways, which is totally normal in fact due the fin profile and its angle of attack.
Incredible what the AI can do today !! But still room for improvements to be done : it forgot the ripples on the water to sudgest the wind around !! 🙃🙃🥳
No AI mate that's how it was, if you don't believe it come visit 🤗
@@uhaggar just kidding ! So Incredible 🤩 🤙
@garyguett haha yep Gary amazing !
Kaip jums plaukia be vėjo ?
Definitely wind, just no chop due to thick weed lol
@@uhaggar - o tai kaip nėra bangų, jeigu yra vėjas ?
@@remigijusjozenas398thick weed !
Great video 😊
Thanks David appreciated 👌
It can really change from one day to the next. We went through and it was a piece of cake. A couple of days before a truck got stuck and dug huge holes that everyone was falling in to. You just have to pull up and make an assessment,
Yeah Andrew that's what happened to us, we watched people crossing and thought we could get through, you live and you learn that's for sure 👌
@@uhaggar yeah it wouldn't be much of a trip if it all went perfectly eh?!
@andrewford80 yeah that's true, no harm done, we did also take our van into Purnululu and smashed our pull out step, but once again no big deal and it didn't cost a lot to get fixed when we got home. Can't wait to do more of these trips 👌
Good on Fraser, very enterprising! Watching those wading in knee-deep water and some with dogs, and wondering if they realise it's Saltie paradise! Went through there some years ago in a Unimog when the river was still flowing, impossible to see depth/obstacles/etc and at one time the 'Mog almost tipped over when the wheels dropped off the edge. About a dozen (or more) Salties watching, but more would have been lurking. Fraser wasn't around back then!
There had been a lot of rain so we saw no saltys, I flew the drone up and down the river and saw none but they could have been there. I think if we had stuck to the right we may have hot through but I was worried about falling off the track
Wow I'm due there start of august I hope the roads fixed or Fraser is still working
Hi we actually travelled the Gibb last year, I've just been really slack at processing my video, I'm more of a photographer lol. Anyway check the conditions I'm sure that Kununurra Info centre or El Questro can let you know, I don't think it is usually too bad depending on recent rain fall 👌
wow~!! very fantastic Lake George in New York? I'm Korea windsurfer
It's in South Australia a long way from New York lol
Stunning part of Aus. Looks like you’re having a ball 😀👌🏼
Certainty is a stunning part of Aus, I did this trip last year I'm just not very quick with my videos sometimes 😝
Both springs are great but I preferred Bitter Springs, the natural experience.
Rita yes I agree, the natural springs far nicer but watch out for those snappy things what a surprise !
Great footage. Well done Glenn 👌🏼
Thanks bud appreciated 👌
I live near an impounded lake in SC USA. These guys have no waves. Is this due to how shallow the lake is? Thanks for you time.
yes David shallow water and thick weed
What a useless video. Nothing more than happy snaps, drone footage. Very little to show how you actually went towing camper trailers.
What Speed at what Wind Speed?
Probably 20 to 30 knts wind and most speeds high 30 knts and a few 40 knts . Not the best conditions compared to usual
Co to za miejsce??? Gdzie mam szukać tego na mapie???
Near Adelaide in South Australia
Any particular reason you hang onto the uphaul with your front hand rather than the boom?
Can help to go upwind
How much rake do your weed fins need to work here? Be nice to see a clip of the fins used.
Hey Barney I am not a fin expert but I believe you need around a 45 degrees rake. The 2 most common fins are the Atomic Nuclear weed and the Tectonics Speed Demon these are both delta fins. The other fins used are super weeds which are made by Tribal and Atomic. There will be others but they are the ones I am familiar with. Hope this helps mate
정말 멋져요.
Thanks!
Dreamplace. Lot s of fun there.
Yeah it's pretty cool 👌
Looks nice, what was the sail size please?
Sail sizes between 5.5 and 7 metre on that day 👌
@@uhaggar thanks Glenn.
Amazing :)
Thanks it is !
marvellous video ! ...sure i would kiffe to windsurf on your spot ...thanks
Welcome 👌
Soon or later, hope to enjoy your spot!
Definitely worth a look 👌
nice vid Glenn, Not quite as good as beening there. thanks mate 🤙
Thanks mate, the wind is not as good as previous years and the water not as flat but its is still great sailing 👌
Wow Glen what an awesome video! And what a great place. Did you get some speed readings? Some runs looked super fast!
Hey Rob, thanks, yep it was a good day, I did close to 35 knts and there was at least one 40 knt speed for one of the sailors, lots in the high 30's. The wind isn't as strong this year, probably due to all the cyclones up north.
great vid, it really shows whats about!!
Thanks kindly it was a great day 👌
Awesome footage of an awesome day, Great work Glenn
Thanks Jayden, sailors like you make it 👌
Great video Glenn. This place looks incredible. I’ll have to visit one day 👌🏼
Yep you certainly should well worth it 👌
This is cool, why don’t you check out RJ windsurfing legend
thanks Antony
Looks like there is hardly any Wind!Cool!
no not much !
Incredible place and awesome footage. Well done Glenn. I knew I saw your name somewhere 😉.
thanks Neil, maybe we can catch up and take some pics one day mate
@@uhaggar Absolutely. Let me know when you’re in Hervey Bay next and we will arrange a catch up. 🍻 I don’t leave Hervey Bay much……it’s too nice 😂
Nice spot Glenn ❤
It surely is Phil pretty epic 👌
Why does he hold his uphaul?
Holding the uphaul can help go upwind better, give it a go !
@@uhaggar Thanks for the reply. Last time I windsurfed was 25 years ago. We moved to San Diego and fhere is no wind here. I’m no shape to do this again tho this was my hobby for more then a decade in the 80’s and 90’s. I didn’t run a uphaul soon after I learned to waterstart since uphauling where I surfed was near impossible with the board sinking and the chop.
That is unreal.
thanks !
Aucun panneau solaire n'est fabriqué en France...
People around the world watching this may not realise that this lake is usually dry and empty throughout the year. It's farmland to multiple different owners, there are fences seperating the different land titles... in that lake.
yes I have spoken to many locals and they have told me that, also been windsurfing races here in the big lake and lots of fishing many years ago.
You’re not thinking of Lake George near Canberra are you?
Are you thinking of Lake George near Canberra? This is Lake George in South Australia.
Remembers me to 1995 in Kefalos on Kos in Greece with a F2 Sputnik 270 close to the beach with flat water and very high speed
that sounds pretty special as well !
Isn’t it also about the apparent wind? ie, once you pump up onto the plane, you’ve virtually got a constant laminar flow over the sail!? With such a smooth water surface, there’s very low resistance too! Cheers
yes thats true Nigel, as soon as you hit the mirror its like you turn the super charger on
❤🔥⚡️✨️огонь super
Thanks !
the stats at the end were very helpful. thank you for sharing your journey.
you are welcome !
I saw this video twice and ask the same question how is it possible 15 knts ? with a glassy spot !!! 🧐🤓🤔 Photoshop!!???😂 👍😎🇫🇷🏁
Ricky is very shallow and heavy weed
Unglaublich 😍😍
Thanks !
Im a beginner and want to see. Can you provide group info or event schedile? I want to learn what to buy. Any store or place recommendation?
its not really a place for beginners, very experienced sailors only
WoW! That glass is just epic! Sending jealousy from 4000 miles away across the Atlantic! 😁👋👍
thanks !
Дзеркальні мири.
Yeah
Sure was 👌
How big is that gear being ridden?
mostly 7 to 8 metre sails and prob 120 litre boards on average
do you need big weed fins? Ive always found my weed fins dont give enough lift in light winds so what make/size do you use??
Barney, that day I was using a 23 cm Delta fin, plenty of lift. Weed find sellers should provide sizing guides.
another nice one Glenn with excellent cinematography. Was nice to see my old stomping ground where I learnt to windsurf back in the 80's and doesn't appear to have changed too much re development. Don't think I've ever seen it still like that, always had wind.
Thanks Jim, the lake hasn't changed much but Habitat Noosa is a lot different from the old Elanda Point campground it even has a Craft Brewery LOL
Some great scenery shots Glenn around Elanda point. Amazing shots of the kangaroos in the water, a rare sight for me anyway.
Thanks mate, I was going to put some commentary in but in the end just decided to let the scenery do the talking 👌
15 knots and water is still glassy, that's weird. Must be super shallow. Can't see any kitesurfers, would be a great spot for kiting
I'm told the kite lines get tangled in the weed if you drop it in which can be a real problem, we dont see any kiters here
