      Painful lol. I’m 27 pretty good sized 6’1”and float between 185-190 at like 11-12% body fat, Been lifting for 9 years, pretty damn in shape. yeah numbers arent my main goal, but to watch this guy just so casually 2X my max on his second lift.
      Just a stark reminder people. We are not all the same. Some people are just built different.

    I think the key to this event is not wasting time with straps on the first few bars (assuming you don’t need to). If I recall correctly, Mitch Hooper won this event easily and only strapped up on the last bar.

    What are the straps for when people deadlift? Doesn't look like it distributes the weight or help with grip...

      It does in fact sace your grip. Figure 8 straps are a little bit less effective at preserving grip strength but ensure that a slip of the bar doesn't rip your hand open
