The weapon pricing changing with how much they are used is such a cool idea, sadly it can't really be executed well
Would be awesome for a mod or community server though.
i was there when they applied it in source. please do not trust valve doing anything right is all i can say 😂
if you just keep it in a range of +-10% it would work, would still be changing the game without breaking it (i think)

@@momentora9466 Can't really do something like that in CS nowadays sadly, no fun allowed. The vocal part of the community only want hyper-competitive features, even though custom game modes were huge in Global Offensive and earlier. It would be nice if casual had some unique things at least, not just being competitive with free armour and no team damage.

Lake was such a cool map, with tons of tricks, self-boosts, wallbangs and other gimmicks. I miss it a lot

Unpopular opinion: I kinda liked agency and wish that they would've ported it to cs2 since it would've looked nice with new lighting
That Assault glitch was so much fun. That map was so broken, I miss it so much.
There was a vent above backroom that didn't render right so you could see players inside it from outside.
I miss assault so bad, Especially when i played hostage.
Rather say i miss all the hostages maps on csgo.
not only assault was broken as hell.
Also ar_monastery since it's release in 2012 hasn't really changed at all and was quite easy to get out of bounds up to 2023 with the end of GO :D
@@Schnitz1793 No, going out of bounds in Monastery wasn't easy because it's a jump near the enemy spawn on a rooftop and you are vulnerable from basically the entire map while making it. I got pretty used to sneaking up there, but only managed to do it, on average, less than once per arms-race game. Perfectly balanced, I would say.
The great thing about game communities as old as CS is all these little interesting quirks that have developed along the way

CHARGERS ONLY MENTIONED. i wanna see a gamemmode for this so bad.
On another note :
- When left-clicking then right-clicking the nades, the trajectory goes from "very far" to "mid-range", whereas when right-clicking then left-clicking the nades, the trajectory goes from "mid-range" to "very close"
- The crosshair position, the crosshair movement, the player movement, the surface/material/angle at which it bounces if it does so, are all taken into account when throwing nades, meaning there is an amazingly large amount of possibilities when throwing nades
I honestly am starting to dislike CS2 because of the maps they have gotten rid of. They got rid of all the fun maps, Cache (which was an actual good comp map), Assault, Safehouse (my all time favorite CS map), Bank, Lake (which is still in the files, they just don't want to add it for some reason), St. Marc, Black Gold, Sugarcane, Agency, Dizzy, Milita, the list goes on. BRING BACK THE CSGO MAPS
Man they will bring them back. Let valve do whats needed

@@jman_soup dude a handful of those are community maps they don't own the rights to. FMPONE is working on Cache but it's not done yet.

An interesting fact is that the SSG 08 is manufactured by the Austrian company "Steyr", which also manufactures a rifle under the name "Scout". And if you look at the model in CSS, it's actually remarkably similar to the Scout, with the only big difference being that the scope on the real Scout is much further forward.
Steyr also originally manufactured the AUG

I really like how water works in CS2. It cuts my FPS by 2/3. It's magic I don't know how they do it
Man, me too! Maps without water I get about 200fps, marginally less than CSGO. Any map with water, if I go near the water it drops to like 80 and I die to anyone peeking me, its unplayable.
Really no offence, just curiosity, what setup do you have? CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows Version etc.

Another interesting fact that went unnoticed for its entire lifetime is that you could get out of bounds on monastery without needing a boost. You could just make a couple jumps and fall of the map and run around in the skybox void

I dont think this changing prices feature was ever in CS.
To reintroduce the pricing change, you could limit the change to a certain range depending on the weapon : M249 would be between 4500 and 5500 for example, ak-47 between 2500-3000 etc

The self-boost on Inferno to balcony was never hard. The one on mid on Cache to boost however...that actually required good jump timing and strafing. Especially before the remake.

you couldnt get to the rooftops in assualt (idk when it was patched) u could still run-boost onto the light then run-boost onto a pipe, but u couldn't go out of bounds, untill the end of csgo. ik this could i would always dick around in casual, and studied the clipboxes of the map too much. i miss that broken piece of junk.

It's not true that CS didn't use real gun names until Global Offensive.
Early versions of CS used the real names (like AK-47), for years but some time around Condition Zero or Source they went over to using the fake names (edit: I think it was probably when they made the first retail version of CS that they put in the fake names), because they were worried about copyright implications presumably.
But they then reverted that change after a few years (probably because all other games use real gun names and it's fine) and went back to using the real gun names. e.g. go check 3Klikphillips video about the early CS1 beta and you can see that the e.g. the USP, Glock and Benelli Shotgun all use their real world trademarked names in the buy menu from the very start.

for some of the weapon name being different it was a choice, not a rights issue. us military designations like m4, m16, are public domain. and AK-47 was never trademarked or patented because it's a russian gun, and it's technically not what it's called, it's actually just an AK. but that's being pedantic, point is the name is just a western colloquialism, so it's fair use too. using the real firearm names without any liscensing was also very common in the days of 1.6/source, but so was inventing fake names. I'm not sure if this trend started with goldeneye, but that was the first big fps I remember having made up gun names instead of "colt 45" "m1911" or sometimes simply just "pistol"

@@TheSuperappelflap that too. though it's shorthand for Kalashnikov, and he designed a number of different weapons, the PK general purpose machine gun also. but if you say ak, ak47, kalashnikov, kalash, most people know you mean an ak or ak derivative.
fuck i miss cache, had some crazy self boosts, they changed A site so you could self boost to the top of the boxes between squeeky and main (aka shroud) but only if you opened the door from the T side. Theres of course the really hard jump mid from white box around the corner to boost and also the much easier jump from roof/vents to on top of garage. However a much less used one IMO exists from sandbags to mid roof which as a CT could really help taking mid alone.

Can someone who has friends confirm whether boosting someone with jumping works? It was about jumping from the head of a teammate while he's at his jump as well, giving you extra height - very popular in 1.6, but I have never tried this in CS:GO or CS2.
You can do it, it only boost you a little more up than if you just jumped though
Yes it does, but there arent any boosts currently in the game that require it. You used to need it to boost to dropdown on Cobblestone at some point.

@@trisfaleel Its called mini/main. Didnt know you could do that. But its completely useless anyway, if there is any Ts outside at any angle they will all spot you instantly.

Nade one, if you go "left + right" click thats one distance, and then "right + left" click thats another, so there is 4 default distances actually
