Always wanted to do a polished Gun Blue finish on a 2 stroke pipe, but it would just end up a display queen. Oh, and a big thanks for showing these dying trade secrets. Everyone thinks you gotta weld on new form fitted panels to save the pipe, or even go as far as to make a crazy mount so they can use stud welders to pull the dents out. Again, people are making it out harder then it has to be. Defiantly enjoy the How 2 videos, cause you get to learn something you don't know about yet, and it get people into the hobby.
I’ve done it before, but with 20 PSI. I had no idea you could put 150 PSI. I’d like to know what the PSI went to after applying heat. Great job as usual!!
That's a ton of pressure! Keep in mind that the heat creates even more pressure. You could rupture a pipe with that much pressure. Especially heating up a weld joint cherry red! No way I'd use that much pressure!
You realise he still has it hooked up to the air system and it doesn’t have a check valve so the pressure will be going back through the whole shop so actually wouldn’t raise it at all over that volume. Still agree that’s a lot of pressure with red hot steel but pressure wouldn’t be increasing.
@@ttv8ra23 true about the volume of the whole air system. I didn't take that into account. I'd still stay away from putting that much pressure into a pipe while getting weld joints cherry red. He got away with it this time but his luck could run out on the next one.
Another approach is to fill it with water and then place it in a freezer. When the water turns to ice it will push out the dent, but it may also split the seam. So, you got to monitor it.
Think you may have an idea with those plates ready to go. I would be all day just trying to make those plates in my garage. Most regular guys would at least have to run to harbor freight for something to make it.
Holyshit for a first-timer that was badass brother you did one hell of a job I've seen a few different ways even with water pressure. You got mad skills brother that's for damn sure💪🏽❤👍🏽💙🤙🏽😎🤘🏾🍺🍺👊🏼👊🏼 oh yeah BTW you could sell that setup on your website I think everybody would have that in their toolbox you guys have a great rest of the holiday weekend my friend😎✌🏽
@@BVCOFFROAD leave enough air gap at the unsealed end of pipe as water expands by 20 percent when frozen. If you don't leave enough air gap and seal pipe either end it will split the pipe .. I'm a old fart and that's how we used to get dents out back in the day
I actually did this same exact thing with my 94 RM250 pipe about 6 months ago and worked perfect. Great videos keep up the sick work.
That's a pretty cool idea AND a tool you can make to sell and help guys fix their pipes.

That’s sick man deff make some kits for this
You did an awesome job repairing the pipe looks great
Just dented my dg pipe on my 250R.
I was planning on doing this fix.
Now I definitely will! Thanks guys.
Keep up the amazing work!
Be careful if your pipe is ti it blows out quicker and makes a bubble. TAKE YOUR TIME…..
690 big wheel?! Holy sh1t!
A clean shop means a slow shop, or idle hands. Just like our shop, too busy to clean it!
That worked SWIMMINGLY! GOOD JOB!
Yes its going to be a sick bike.. and for sure hard to stay clean but have been trying to dedicate saturday mornings to it

Yeah I start around 50 psi when I do it, and even that makes me nervous...

i know someone been doing for years nothing ever happen. i think people like to overlook things make them think there smarter or something
Great video, easy when you have the tools and know how. Thanks.
Awesome results!!! So worth it!! Yes on diy kits
Want to see a follow up video!!

Krp,pvr performance , sniper, wicked Motorsports, L.E.D performance and RP race all make good custom pipes
You made that look to easy, all the other guys who do it are cautious about the pressure in the pipe, you just went full send!
Thanks man!
Would you guys be able to make a budget kit for this? That would be awesome 👌
150 psi sheesh! I’ve pulled dents out twice as big with 80 psi. I was always scared it was going to bust open.
That was awesome, thanks
Running production on a CNC kinda sucks. Programming and testing new programs on the machine is enjoyable
That was Awesome..I wish I would have known that years ago..
Me too, now i have the simple tool to do it. Ill never have a dented pipe again
@@BVCOFFROAD I think you could make a profit if you made and sold the template in house.. How many pipes get dented daily.
Thanks gunna use this them dings are annoying
A hole is a hole....is it tho lol love it
😂
It’s better to be looking at bits and bibs then looking for them!
Good point!
I just saw a thing where a guy filled it with water then froze it in his freezer it popped the dents out too
That was cool to watch them just come right out
Mouth with the GD man shhhsh
That works but. After heating stainless like that it makes is brittle.
Its not stainless
@@BVCOFFROAD perfect
👍👍👍
Fill with water and freeze it 👍
No time for that. This took us 5 min once set up
@@BVCOFFROAD not every one got the tools or equipment to do it your way ...
Ill have to try it some time, sadly i dont have a freezer at the shop that large
