This could make a great series. Too often I’ll finish lifting and not feel the targeted muscle group. An “Activation Series” to incorporate into a warm-up would be awesome!

I have this video saved on my phones homepage to watch before every back session. Feeling my lats was always a problem until I found this. Even just the arm extension with internal rotation gets the blood pumping to the lats in seconds. Thank your John, rest in paradise
@@sriamayantiaw2311broooo im right side dominant and i only feel my left lat and cant feel my right i mean its flexed when i touch it but it doesn't feel flexed as much as my left lat ☠️

With my left hand i dont need to swing my left all the way to the back i feel my lat easier there but still now i felt my right lat it just needed more work.
Lats are definitely what I had trouble with activating til I watched this video. I didnt even need the second step... now I feel my lats every time I do lat pull downs which I didnt before!! Thanks man

Just tried the lat activation for the first time with my workout. After the first 2, I could feel everything in my lats. I also dropped the weight and felt full contractions in my lat. I noticed when doing pullups, I wasn't feeling it as much until I did some negatives. This was great advice John and it's going to be part of my back program from now on. Thanks @mountaindog1!!
Finding this has been huge for me. I've been dealing with impingement and an out of place scapula in my right shoulder due to muscles not firing in my back. I can already feel the difference! Thank you!
Did something similar to this based on your older videos and I sure did feel my lats working like never before - awesome I do have a request though: I found your channel through Jeff Nippard and you were giving him some really good tips on posing and that’s something I’d like to see more of. There’s really no good posing tutorials on RUclips that I’ve been able to find so if you could do a series on posing that would be awesome! Especially coming from you because I have the same problem in not being born with a nice v taper.
Sadly, that’s mostly genetic. Though, if you don’t have lats you won’t know if you can attain lower lats; so basically you won’t know if you have good lat genetics until you have lats
John, do a video on Lower Back activation before Rack Pulls, Deadlifts, or Hyper Extensions. Or, any safety movements before these exercises for better blood flood, or non injury.
I was looking for something quick and engaging, this was fantastic. Especially that first movement pattern. No cramping for me, but either way - without question engaged. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
