    HOW I REVIEW:
    As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. I really like this bag because of his design; genius quick access pockets and his separate compartments! 🤩
    What I never get:
    - always the same issues with these bags:
    ZIPPERS AND WATERRESSISTANT (or proof!) materials!
    Why are those designers not able to take care of it?
    Thanks Bo again!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 лет назад +1

      I believe the black version takes care of most of those issues. To be fair, the material is coated, just the zippers aren't ideal. I think this grey version is targeted towards business people who travel with a suit and take a cab anyways. and the black version is the more rugged but maybe not visually suiting for business attire.

    Great review Bo. Just received word today that this bag is being shipped. Excited to get it. Ordered the black one. Even without the added protection I’d still order the black. Just more appealing to me. I plan to use this bag for all my trips but will bring a laptop/daily carry bag with me as well. Help with weight and I’ll be packing more clothes. Cheers!

      Thanks, mate. I think you made a good choice. But be aware of how much you pack. If you plan on walking a bunch with the bag, treat it like a smaller bag. You're shoulders will thank you ;-)

    Thanks for another great review Bo. This is probably not for me as I prefer a backpack style. Recently a leisure trip for 4 days in a 26 litre Northface. While everyone was fighting for overhead space I put my bag under the seat. I did a beach / mountain day hike trip with binoculars and 2 cameras total under 7kg travel weight. For hiking I emptied out a lot of my bag. However for business I generally take 2 bags if going business class. Some tips for one bag travel. Try only ever taking 1 shoes plus flipflops. Wear the shoes. For the tech you have a tough choice. I would leave the keyboard at home for a short trip. And probably even the mouse. Usually a multibox and conversion plugs are needed for overseas travel. Camera gear I strip back as well. My work doesn't require a camera so I use my phone or take smaller option. Try to minimise your just in case stuff but ymmv. Good luck with one bag travel!

    I appreciated your balanced honest review. I like the design of the Pakt bag, especially the top zippers that allow easy access to the compartments but I wondered how it would feel trekking with it, especially trying to hurry to my gate at a large international airport. Thanks to your review, I don’t think it’s for me since I’d probably find it heavy & exhausting. I’ll stick with backpacks. Just haven’t found the perfect one yet.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 лет назад

      Thanks, Kaeleen. Yes, lugging it around the airport (especially if you need to run from gate to gate) can become very exhausting. Which is why I recommend to treat it as a 20 or 25L bag rather than the whole 35L that it offers.
      What kind of backpack are you looking for?

    Try the north face borealis, it's quite big and has many organisation pockets, it has enough space for a 2 night trip, depending on what you take.

    Hey Bo, I'm looking for a bag recommendation. I'm looking for a small/medium bag for when I'm wondering around the city. I love my LBB Peloton! But it can be a little bulky and heavy when going to a crowded bar or on long treks around the city. I'm looking for something that can hold a large water bottle, large battery, A5 notebook, and maybe a couple of beers or whatever. Bonus points if it's a messenger bag that lays flat against my body. Essentially a man purse!
    Thank you for another awesome video!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 лет назад

      Thanks, mate. I'm not too much into messenger bags. But since you already are happy with the LBB Peloton, have you seen their new line up with that reflective material? Their messenger looks pretty cool as well.

      Well actually the size is 50,8x27,9x25,4 whereas ryanair/vueling size is 55x40x20cm, so it doesn't and they are really strick

    If I am traveling I cannot live the one bag life. I use a duffel bag just for clothes and other stuff and carry a backpack within it for the day and duffel stays in the room.

    You took out your pouches and cubes at the hotel. How did the bag perform as a normal day bag when going to office? How do you think it would perform for people who are travelling for business but only really need to bring a laptop , charger, cables etc and don't usually carry keyboards or camera gear?

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 лет назад

      Hey Dave,
      Yes I took out the cubes in the office. And although it does get lighter, I am not used to this one sided weight distribution. Having weight just on one side of your shoulders does get exhausting even if it is just a 10 minutes walk. That is also the reason why I mainly review backpacks. That being said: If you prefer messenger bags or shoulder bags, than this one can function very well as an edc bag. Obviously with 35L it is very big, but if you go for a business trip and leave most of your stuff in the hotel, then this will fit well on your daytrips to meetings and such.

    Great video again. Quick thought: You don't cover costs of the bags themselves. At one point I really like that you don't since it reserves judgement of its worth to the person whos seen the bag post the review.
    Secondly, I guess that bags don't really compete with each other model vs model like phones do. However there probably is another league of luxury bags that are great too.
    Just wondering if that is why you don't mention the price.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 лет назад

      Thanks, Varuna!
      I decided not to include prices in all my video reviews. Most of my viewers are either in USA or Asia, while I live in Germany, therefore everyone has different shipping costs and custom fees which will affect the price a lot. Which is why I believe that it is more reasonable or easier just to google the specific product in your country and try to find the best deal. I hope that makes sense.
      My Goruck bag is a great example: By itself it is already pretty expensive, but for what it is it is still reasonable. But as soon as I added shipping and custom fees it was almost €400.- and this is a completely other story. So shipping and custom fees can change the price dramatacally .

    Those negatives were exactly why I chose not to purchase this bag -- as much as I wanted to like it. The biggest drawback for me was that it's a duffel and not a backpack which takes a toll on my back and shoulders when walking with all that weight. Not a bag for everyone nor for every situation. Bought a clamshell backpack instead with stowable shoulder and hip straps that can also be carried as a messenger for short distance commuting... very happy. It's a shame because I really like the positives which you talked about. It's aesthetic is business-like so perhaps it was intended specifically for urban and very short term travel. Great video as always Bo! :)

    While I appreciate attention to details in reviews, I feel like comments on waterproofing are misplaced. How likely is it that you’re going to be in the rain with your bag for such an extended period of time? If it’s raining, I’m trying to get inside ASAP.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 лет назад +2

      Funny thing, a couple of hours before I published this video I was arriving in Berlin and was walking five minutes in rain. I made an instagram story about how my stuff inside got wet during that short walk. So I don't want to imagine what happens if you walk around it in rain for a longer period of time

      Hallo Alexander. Die meisten Hersteller schauen sich die Videos auch an. Aber meist sind die Taschen ja schon im finalen Produktionsablauf und lassen sich nicht ändern. In den seltensten Fällen wird eine Version 2 gemacht. Bei boundary supply war mein Quicklook aber zb noch rechtzeitig, so dass einige meiner Kritikpunkte in der finalen Version überarbeitet wurden.

    Why in the world would you complain about the weight when YOU are packing all that heavy crap. The bag weighs 3.5 LBS for chrissakes. Obviously you people with the heavy gear need a bag on wheels. Jeeze. ONE night? Okay, I can pack in a woman's handbag with room left over. Hairdryer. Spare me.

      Hey Cindy.
      First of all, thanks for watching the video. I'm sorry to hear that you don't like my way of reviewing this bag.
      As a reviewer of any item (especially with this kind of price tag) I believe it is important to challenge the item and specifically look for negative aspects even if they seem nitpicking. For you as a consumer there is no sense to watch a review that only covers positives. And obviously I better use a rolling case for my gear (different horses for different courses) but this is a review for this specific bag and i used it in my personal usecase scenerio in a real event opposed to just review it at home.
      Thanks again for watching. Stay safe. 😉 ✌️

    So no criticism of this bag...no cons... besides the genius insight that a heavy bag will start to make your shoulder ache over time. Hah, is that supposed to show that this is an honest review. LOLOLOLOL

      Hey captain.
      Not sure what video you were watching, but I talked about multiple negatives at the end part of the video. I'm always open to feedback and discussion if you found more negatives with this bag 😉

      @@Youknowthebo I'd previously just skipped around the video, and like a fool, said you didn't criticize the bag. I see now that you did. I'm sorry.
      One point remains however. You saying that if you pack a duffle bag heavy, it's going to be uncomfortably heavy. This is a truism. I don't see how it could be the fault of any particular over-the-shoulder duffle... unless the shoulder strap pad is thin. Which isn't the case here.
      I suppose you were just reminding people of the obvious.
      Otherwise very good review and filming.
      (hair dryer was hilarious to see in minimalist video.)
