Yah, people were way too hard on this console. They were never going to pursue the potential ideas not because of the lack of adoption rate but the bitter unwarranted resent people held towards it. Oh well, hopefully the next Nintendo system will let you sync a switch to it or your phone to replicate the Wii U setup.

It was technically my “second” because my dad had a Wii but in my opinion it was my first console and I think it reigns super over the switch for home gaming.

I have got to have over 1000 hours on my 2ds and gosh I love everything about it. Including the Home Screen, you can even change the amount of rows it has. I just can’t not like it.
3ds. customizable themes and music, folders, and even badges to spice up the look, as well as a zoom in/out feature, giving a look similar to the wii u or to any other feel you want.
the 3ds has a little animation and sound effects for each title when you hover over it , custom designs with different music, badges that look cool and badges that can launch softwares
As a person who had the Wii U as his first console I can fully agree Edit: also the music is so nostalgic and brings back memories from when I played this and just wanted to relax and when my sister used to play with me and don’t get me started on the music in the notifications and settings icons because man oh man were they the most relaxing thing ever 😊

I had a DSI when I was younger and I loved the main menu music on the DSI. It sounded so calm and relaxing. I loved playing the amazing Spider-Man on my DSI and that game was my childhood and so is the DSI too
Half of the WiiU menu was taken away with Miiverse shutting down, so I have to give it to the Wii. Especially since every channel had some form of opening screen
Fun Fact: When you left the Wii U idle on the home menu, the music’s tempo would slow/quiet down as well as the floating icons in the background, until you picked up the Gamepad and everything sped back up.
What I also love about the Wii U is when you click into the game, it immediately bursts into music with an amazing artwork shown to you on the screen. Although not as good as the Wii's, in my opinion, the Wii U still had awesome presentation.
The Wii U is one of the consoles that goes to show that failed consoles aren't necessarily bad. So glad that at least it's library got a second round on Switch

For nostalgia, I’d have to say the Wii, but the Wii U’s menu is just better. Full of character, nice ambient tunes, and getting to see all the new Miiverse posts involving games that you have installed right on the home menu...now that blew my mind at 16. I really hope as the Wii U homebrew community finds new exploits we’ll be able to unlock the ability to use the home screen to its full potential again.
The Wii U and wii home menu are good I love the Wii channels when u put a game disc in the game moves when it shows on the Wii channel I LOVE THAT AND THE MUSIC is so calm and nostalgic the 3ds too those 3 consoles are good expect switch home menu that one is trash.
The 3DS is the best because of its customization. You can adjust the size of the icons to show more or less games on screen at once, you can have folders with their own sizes, every game has its own unique animation when you hover over it, and best of all, you can have different themes based off characters and games that change the look and music of the Home Menu. And I haven't even talked about Nintendo Badge Arcade! It's true perfection.
Honestly i live the Wii and 3DS they have the best and bejng someone who grew up with a Wii and Wii U meaning i grew up with both I like the Wii Music better and i love the idea that the Wii Icons are all like TV Screens and when u click on any channel it gives u a little jingle for everything and it just feels better than the U the 3DS is literally just the DSi but better in everyway from themes to badges ro folders and like the Wii the little jingle when you hover over something i just love it

Not sure about this one. Maybe I’m just spoiled with the new consoles but the Wii U’s menus are actually a little frustrating for me to use nowadays. The settings menu isn’t at the bottom of the screen with all the other utilities because it’s a whole app, the friends menu should be with the NNID menu and not have it’s own icon, you can’t customize the halo of apps on the Mii Plaza screen without miiverse so I, someone who just recently purchased my own Wii U can’t change it. The Wii U main menu has lot of minor issues that don’t feel like much but once it’s your main home console you start to notice a lot of problems. However, it does have the best theme song out of any Nintendo system so do any of my problems with it affect my enjoyment of the console? Absolutely NOT 😊

Game Cube's menu is most nostalgic to me since it was the 1st time I saw anything like it in a game console. Music soooo relaxing!

I prefer the 3ds home menu because the lay-out is good but instead of mii's, you have different themes for more customization.

For me, the best would be the GameCube and the 3ds. I love the chill ambiance of the gamecube, and i love the nostalgia i get from the 3ds.
