    These potholders are adorable! I like the herringbone stitch... I've never used it before so this will be fun. The "dots" are really cute and add so much to the border! Thanks so much for the tutorial. I'm going to print out the written pattern and graph, too, as I learned to crochet using written patterns and still love using them. RUclips hadn't been born yet when I taught myself to crochet, using "Teach Yourself to Crochet" pattern books and pamphlets. I taught myself using "thread" and "steel crochet hooks"! When I look back, I must have been very determined to learn! Lol. Actually, that's what most women used to crochet with back then, making doilies, doilies, doilies! Of course, knitters used yarn, but thread and tiny steel crochet hooks were standard crochet supplies, at least where I was from (Texas). I'm so very happy yarn is used a lot now and that there's RUclips. It almost feels like cheating to just follow along on a video tutorial, being shown exactly what to do! I love it, "cheating" or not! Thanks again for your beautiful designs!

      Char...I HAVE to reply to you ! I taught myself to crochet, too, (in July, 1971) using a size 1 steel hook 7 a ball of crochet thread....& an article in the July 1971 Woman's Day magazine about crocheting ! I started making doilies right away, using a 35 cent booklet about doilies.It was entirely written...no charts. Later I progressed to yarn & aluminum hooks. But I still crochet a fair amount using a size 7 steel hook & crochet thread. I love doing designs in filet crochet. But when charts were introduced, I sure liked them....although sometimes written word can help explain some of a chart. Oh & back when I started, there wasn't nearly the yarn choices we have now !! Aren't they gorgeous these days ??!!

    I love your method for going up the side with the two single crochets and Skip One. I didn't understand at first that you made a second solid color one as backing 2 make it a pot holder. This is really clever. Thank you for showing this

    Thank you for making this lovely video. My son loves it when I make him homemade gifts. He loves to cook & he's always asking me to make him more hot pads or trivets. You've just inspired me to make these for him. Thank you so much for these beautiful things. Now to get the supplies to make him 4 of each of them for his really long dining room table. Sending you much

    Thank you, Tiffany! And thanks for explaining how you did the sc border! I struggled with where to put my hook when attaching the back to the puff tree hot pad, so I did a sc border to help.....but I struggled with where to do the sc’s! LOL! I can’t wait to make more hot pads! I’m loving the small projects these days! 💗 🧶

    Hi Tiffany! I just started this hot pad last night and I’m so excited to finish it and make some more for Christmas gifts this year! I just want to make sure I don’t make a mistake. I’ve finished the white side and I’m starting to go around with single crochets along the top. When I get to the first corner I’ve just done 2 sc in the last stitch and the very next stitch gets 3 sc in the corner right? I was afraid I was doing too many in such a small area. Thanks for your help!!

    Hi Tiffany, I have a question you keep mentioning hot pad, it is because they are doubled.? I love them all. Love your talent. You are blessed. Thanks for sharing.

    • @patwagner9308
      @patwagner9308 3 года назад

      I'm just a viewer....I have made tons of hot pads.....& most of the time I double the thickness to provide more insulation from the heat....but I've also made 1 layer hot pads. You can use them under hot dishes, too. ...again double layers is better. A small size would be great for coasters !

    Hi Tiffany, my name is Diana and I'm trying to make one of the blankets from your book, actually, this is your daughter's Hanna's project (is the Boho color block baby blanket), it seems beginners friendly. Would you mind to make a video explaining it? I really want to make that blanket. Thank you and congratulations on your success

    These are lovely but as left hander for some reason my colour changes look correct on the wrong side. The right side has the white messing in with the red. Is there a solution? Sometimes I hate being a leftie

    Please help on a pattern in your book. I have the book 25 Crochet Baby Blankets. I am trying the textured lines baby blanket. The instructions say to crochet into each stitch from the row below. Can you explain in more detail? Which part of the row below? Post? Front loop? I have tried going into the whole stitch but it just gets really bulky and then the following row seems impossible to do the same.
    I do not find anywhere in the book where it explains this and I have also checked around on your website.

      @@patwagner9308 Hi Pat :) Does it take the whole skein? I'm trying to do 3 puff trees, 3 line trees and 3 line candy canes and have to have yarn shipped. 9 balls of white, 3 red and 3 sage green do you think?
