If people are going to abandon places at least let an architectural and antique salvagers come in and pay to reuse them or sell them. If the owner isn’t going to. So sad to see all these places with so much beauty get ruined by nature.
I was here recently and the current owner is pretty serious about the future of this building. There were workers sealing the broken windows with cinder blocks, and it looked like possible renovations were being done. The other church in the same area of Chicago, which is German Catholic, is in much worse condition as far as decay. However, the stained glass is in better condition and it is so ornate and beautiful.
the raccoon part!! i really enjoyed this video i love watching your videos, theyre comforting and offer a look into the forgotten beauties in the world of buildings
I agree that the stained glass is stunning. I just wish he would’ve gotten up close shots of the stained glass so that we the viewer can admire its beauty up close.
Those METAL CROSSES! They are beautiful, and how sad that there they sit! it would be really hard for me to go into a place like this, and not want to recover some of these items, if even just to give them away…
Beautiful church so sad people are destroying it, the stain glass and woodwork is gorgeous and I don't know why the city doesn't salvage what's left of the windows, doors and woodwork.
From my lens, this abandoned, condemned, old church represents the death of America of old. America today is far different than what it was at the height of this church’s service.
If the windows had not been vandalized the interior of the churc would still be pristine. However once you start letting in cold in the winter, heat in the summer, rain, snow, wind etc then you get the paint peeling off the walls and the chipped plaster all over the floor.
RIDICULOUS that there are any new churches built in ugly contemporary styles while these works of art that our ancestors poured their hearts into sit and decay. There should be zero new churches built while these gems of history sit empty.
Congregation left community due to criminality in area. Once gone, slowly no one attends church n able to support financially. Democrats leadership ruins.
That is a beautiful sanctuary! What a shame! Hope the building can be saved and revitalized before it's too late.

Don't think of it as "ruining", but simply "taking over"
@@colemartin6969 Well actually man will ruin them by bulldozing the house with all belongings. Things will end in a land fill.
Ok, land fills ARE ruining, IDK why they're still allowed anyway.
I think its beauitful in a way

Beautiful Church ⛪️. It has alot of potential to being restored!
What a lovely attitude.
Amen.

Stunning stained glass, I just wish you would’ve gotten a closer view of them so that us viewers can see the details.
The stained-glass panels are absolutely stunning. What a shame they're going to waste. At least you got to see them in their full beauty

Yea, the two metal crosses were beautiful, such a shame
That’s crazy how that whole front panel of the church glass was punched out. Never seen that.

Sad.
This church was on a seen by shameless its crazy to see how much of it has fallen apart and damaged now
beautiful stained glass . hope if it destroyed the glass can at least be salvaged
There are some beautiful components to this church. Its too bad they couldnt be salvaged and reused. We are so wasteful in this country.
Beautiful
6:17 I spontaneously laughed lmao

Why was this place deemed hazardous? Mold? Asbestos? Lead? And do you all ever worry about fumes in that case?
My guess would be asbestos/the crumbling walls
We make industrial mask for removing these hazards. Strap one on my dudes!!

There was this one house that was a junkie house and one day it was raided bc someone explored it snd called the cops, it was in Elgin IL
“Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.””
John 3:3
Very sad
Why do they abandon these churches and other buildings and no one can come in and possibly buy or sell articles from these buildings
was this the Evangelical Lutheran Bethlehem Church at 10310 S?
Anyone have any ideas 🤔 as to what happened to the pipe organ thanks 🙏
I believe it was a Wangerin
How do you just walk away? Leave a huge church like that?
Unfortunately its happening all over the place. Declining attendance in recent years, this is the result. More to follow .... sadly.
I'm not gonna be the one to ruin that like count.
How do you you know the city sued them?
An article online
I think this was burned down in 2023?
Sad.....No organ or pipes?
I hope someone restores this beautiful place and at least turns it into another place of worship and gathering 🫂💜
Can not understand the waste .
Bro you should use some gloves here it would help you only not us❤e

They can clean it up and put illegal immigrants in
And you there with no I.R sampling gear to capture that reverb... 🥲
