Would love to see the video of you painting these. Got my new scouts KT box coming in pre-order next weekend.
Yes it would be a good thing to paint this week. I will see what I can do 🤜🤛
Got a video up!
Awesome! Will check it out now :)@@toomanyminis.
No issue sourcing them, I’ve seen boxes in stock at LGS + terrain. Don’t know why the preorders were hammered so badly that day
Yeah it seems a bunch of places have stock. Super weird preorder then. Happy it’s a bit more available.
I am building mine today but need to work out to make two sergeants so I can also field two 5xman sqauds in 10th Edition 40k
I think you should be fine to build two sergeants and still build any specialists you’d want. The arms will go on any torso despite what the instructions show.
Did you manage this? Also are you able to run two rocket launchers and two snipers for the two 5 man squads?
Great opening mate. Love those index cards and I hope they continue that going forward but also release them for all existing forces!
Yeah the cards and tokens and stuff give the box quite a deluxe feel.
*sigh* Still no helmets for scouts. I guess part of the process in becoming a battle brother is being lucky enough to not get a head wound.
Well yeah I guess graduates have a proven track record of dodging headshots 😂
All space marines are hard headed anyways.
I agree. I finished building 3 squads of them and swapped the heads out for Horus Heresy miniature MK6 helmets.
@charleslowry2513 I bet that looks good.
I was planning on using Kasrkin gas mask helmets for my scouts. It makes sense because when I was reading up on the lore for scouts, apparently their scout armor are like a modified version of kasrkin armor. So it makes sense for them to use the kasrkin helmets as well.
I'm gonna make mine look like old rogue trader ones with mohawks, very non-standardised armour/gear setups, war paint, etc. I'll see what they're like in person but these guys just look a little bit too (clean, primaris) space mariney vs the somewhere-between-humans-and-space-marines trying to prove themselves aesthetic in the older stuff. I'll experiment with sculpting green stuff and cutting away some material like the bulky backpack armour thing and pauldrons, and see how it goes!
Yeah I think you’re right that mine look too primaris-y for most scouts but I’ve got to keep the bald heads. It’s our thing.
@@toomanyminis. Oh I wasn't meaning yours specifically, just the design of the sculpts themselves out of the box :) this was super helpful for getting an idea of the shapes in 3 dimensions since there's no official photos of them from behind or turnaround on the website
@Shot5hells yeah it’s kind of a flaw in the KT box releases in that they don’t put 360 degree shots of them until they get released individually.
Hey handsome. Can this kit be used to make
2x 5 man units?
1x sniper
1x heavy bolter or missile launcher
And 3 what ever else ?
Is there enough to make 2 sets .
Yes with a bit of clever building.
@@toomanyminis. what does that mean ?
Are there not 2 sniper guns or 2 heavy bolters or missile?
@Michaelkayslay ah no. So you can make two five man squads but you couldn’t make two squads with the same loadout unless you kitbashed in parts from some other models. There is one of each of the specialist weapons per box.
@@toomanyminis. ohh that is lame :( thanks for replying. I told my mum about us
@toomanyminis. wait a second. I jist looked at sprue online. There's 2 sniper rifles 2 missile launchers . Surely you could 2x 5man units? Each unit could have a sniper and heavy bolter
Cool
I have the same issue with the heads not very Norse but I have plans XD
Yeah it’s hard to have enough space marine heads around. I think I need another pack of forge world heads.
32mm bases? or are they still 28?
Same bases as Templar Neophytes so 28mm
They’re 28mm. I just tacked them onto some 32s while building.
