I'm going in July 2014! Can't wait to fly over the amazing temples, rivers, and begin the descent into Suvarnabhumi! Thailand is my second home, I'm proud to call myself Thai xoxo
the biggest airport duty free shop duty-free of the world (but in Thailand we also have the KingPower Downtown Complex it is another biggest duty free shopping mall too with the luxury hotel and Duty Free Pattaya,Chiang Mai and Phuket).
I still miss the old DMK Don Muang. It gave one more of a feeling of being in Thailand. More art, architecture etc. BKK is so white and stainless steel. It is functional so it is OK. I kind of like the idea of putting the air conditioners at the ground level. From an engineering point of view, that seems like an efficient and good idea. Over the years I have taken taxis upon arrival to Bangkok and other places, have taken the Bell Bus and also the other cheaper bus to Pattaya. I have also taken the rail link to Bangkok that connects to other BTS stations. Not the quickest way, but if one travels light as I do, it is easy and cheap. I am rarely in a hurry and I don't mind sitting on the BTS trains, looking out the window. It is quite enjoyable. For food, you can't beat the downstairs first level Magic cafeteria. Cheap and wide variety. It is where most of the airport employees eat. Plenty of fried rice and noodle options with chicken, beef, duck, etc.
Just be warned if you use the expressway a trick the driver may use is to try and charge you 75 baht when it should only be 25 baht if it just you in the taxi.
how far is this from Don Murang airport I will have at lease a 2 hour lay over here before flying to my final destination looks like plenty of things to keep us occupied.
Go downstairs to the ground level to the left. It is called Magic café I think. It is a big food court. All the workers and flight attendents eat there. It is cheap and fresh. Very Thai
You're not allowed to smoke in this office. Thais's not smoke. It's reason of Buddhism in Thailand. I really think we should stop. I advise you to control yourself. I'm Thai, Thank you.
I go to bkk Thailand every summer, and last year I also went to phuket for a couple of days.. Thailand is amazing.
Alisara which hotel did u stay?

Lovely
I know how you feel, i do too. )-:

there is the other side of the airport, you can eat real local food for cheap price! All the craft of other airplanes companies go eat there.
+Dominic Cyr yes left of door nr 8
Dominic Cyr where? when we were there last year, food prices inside are very expensive, even more expensive than the food in Singapore's airport.

Suvarnabhumi Airport is going very good. Don Muang Airport is left to the Mafia.
i love survanabhumi airport, but its too huge, i get tired before i can reach my departure gate,
Yes the walk from some of the gates is excessive. The moving stairs do not go far enough
Good airport but preferred Don Mueng If I had to be honest.
+Alan Walmsley Don Mueng is too classic and old like North American Airport boring but Suvarnnabhumi airport come lively like City Bangkok
+Bount Pathammavong
we make is all new in don meang airport is very nice now 2016
