I like Combiner Wars Megatron, Thrilling 30 IDW Megatron, Siege/Earthrise Megatron (all variations) and Battlestars Super Megatron. Being a gun versus a tank is not an issue for me. Otherwise these look great for what they're supposed to be.
To me.. now here me out. I always Liked Megatron the Most when he became Galvatron. So for me, The Legacy Galvatron is my definitive Megatron in a sense. Every Megatron is Galvatron and Every Galvatron is Megatron. They are the same person. I hope the 86 Megatron is a new mold and not a retool of the Earthrise Megatron. The face sculpt feels to off. I'm always comparing it to the mp Megatron. Proportions are really good and the facesculpt is perfect in my eyes. I hope the 86 figure is a smaller version of the MP design.
Argubly, none of these were really trying to be g1 Megatron, aside from maybe the Combiner Wars figure. Even the seige figure was more based off the stormbringer design, just way lamer and watered down.
I have to disagree. Classics sure but all the others are just g1 with slightly different details like every g1 redo in CHUG. Earthrise and siege especially were trying to look like g1 toon Megs.
I actually like the goofy little green deluxe. The tank looks cool, his little MG goes great on the tank mode and it reminds me of ground type GM machine gun from U.C. Gundam, and I also like the folding stock I wish we'd get those more often on TF figures in general. I also enjoy his color palette. I just wish he had an actual second arm instead of the spinning cannon thingy. Mine is a used copy I got from a local comic book store, basically 100% complete bar the tip of the cannon barrel being lost and the connection of his weird gun arm being loose. I don't mind the muzzle of the cannon being missing anyway since I just shoved a lego piece on the end and I kinda like the look better, I like to imagine this deluxe as a hardened veteran megatron hastily repaired with an impromptu cannon arm due to resource issues.
Wanting G1 1984 Megatron given the issues surrounding it was the first problem. Accept Megatron needs to change and stop trying to cram that gun into a tank.
Why not just make Megatron turn into a gun but also have him come with accessories (partsforming a bit) that can be added on to give him a tank mode? If they can do partsforming with WFC Magnus, they can do it with Megatron. Hell, make the tank mode look like a gun with treads lol
I feel like the comparison to Jhaixus is a little unfair consider that figure came out much later the the WFC Megatron’s. Personally, Earth rise Megs has grown on me and I don’t consider him a bad figure, especially compared to what came earlier. That being said I have hopes that this SS G1 Megatron will be a good figure, especially after getting the greatness that is the Bumble Movie Studio Series Megatron. (Seriously that figure is probably the greatest Megatron I’ve ever owned.)
Speaking as an old Geewunner, I love Classics Nerf-Gun Megatron, and his various iterations, particularly the United version by Takara. It absolutely does NOT suck. Furthermore, I love the G2 version of the Earthrise tank-Megatron mold, which also does not suck. Are the feet annoying? Yes. Does it ruin my enjoyment of the mold? No. Lastly, I see a lot of clutching at straws here in regard to the upcoming SS86 Megatron. Anyon e who believes he's going to be any sort of gun is almost certainly setting themselves up for disappointment. Those days are gone, and honestly the only reason he was ever a gun is down to the Gun-Robo mold being ported over from the Microman line. The tank has always been a superior alt-mode IMHO, and ss86 is likely to be yet another tank-Megs. What I suspect is that we might be getting the best tank-mode G1-style Megatron we've yet seen.
It's pronounced "GE-AX-US" not "GixUs". As far as figs. goes ... you're talking about the Warden era verse the Mark & Evan era, so OF COURSE the newer figs are going to be better.
When I was a kid in the 80s the only Transformer I hated from wave-1 was Megatron. His toy was the worst & I always thought he should have transformed into a tank. The Walther P-38 was stupid! I honestly couldn't believe they chose the worst figure in the line to be the leader of the bad guys. I made Soundwave the leader of the Decepticons. I always hated Megatron. But I loved Galvatron. 3:44 THAT is my favorite G1 Megatron except for the lack of ankle articulation. The head/face is perfect! Nice metallic silver instead of the usual cheap-looking gray. And an awesome alt mode. Exactly what I wanted when I was a kid. But I agree the figure is outdated. My main Megatron is the Siege Netflix version. I do not care about the gun mode.
Are we forgetting that the new studio series concept art Megatron can turn into a tank and a gun?? (Not in a mean way- I just realized how it would’ve looked 😅)
This whole "No definitive G1 Megatron" talk is why the SS86 line should've been cancelled because at this point? It's doing nothing but brainwashing y'all besides the G1 purist-base itself lol. Sheesh, first the announcement of the trailer for the upcoming TF ONE movie that I'm looking foward to gotten me all in a happy mood and now all of sudden a rant saying that SS86 Megatron would be better than all the other G1 Megatron toys that aren't accurate to the stupid source materials such as the Sunbow cartoon and 1986 movie that they all love so much than anything else has to kill my mood ._. What is wrong with you people??
Look certain characters the original well always be the best anything after is a copy with slightly different personalities sorry but its true its true that the g1 unique toys is the best version of a G1 but its not the best Megatron in my opinion that title goes to beast wars Megatron that my opinion though
I don’t think using legacy voyagers as a comparison to convey the mediocrity of the Siege Megatron mold, mainly due to the amount of time between those releases; a better comparison would be using voyagers from around the same time, like Siege and Earthrise.
If they're gonna just give us a Tank Megatron again, just make it in the Gamer Edition and call it "Devastation Universe" Megatron and give us parts tk make him look more Cartoon-esque
@@monster-mecha_enthusiast_2002 Oh no, not at all. I actually like deviations and seeing what others can do rather than the same thing over and over again, seemingly contrary to my complaint. I just wouldn't exactly say that if we are going to get a Megatron for SS86, a line dedicated to the PURE ACCURACY of the movies they're from, should call itself accurate when it can never truly be accurate due to what laws prevail today, especially when said initial design is intrinsically linked to things like the deaths of Prowl, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Brawn. They get to be strikingly accurate to the point that they even have both a pre- and post-death version of each, but then with Megatron, we will NEVER get that. I am all for more options with Tanks, Space Jets and so on. Heck, my favorite Megatron by and large is the design he has in IDW with the Stealth Bomber.
I agree with these choices but if you want the best Megatron ever made The third party unique toys version is the best you will ever find NIW as for Hasbro as least we got a great galvatron as for Hasbro good Megatron beast wars trex and dragon and RID are really good in my opinion everything else is to big or doesn't scale well
Well, another figure that was poorly constructed and poorly designed was the power of the primes hot rod/Rod prime. The only one from that power of the primes line that I visually liked was Orion/Optimus prime.
You answer your own question about the problems with these figures. You can't point out every messed up detail because there's a lot but then give a caveat because of the paint or rubber tires. Trash is trash. If the trash bag smells good it's still trash. So the best thing to do is not buy Hasbro trash and I need to follow that too because I picked up that trashy nemesis bridge crew and see-through starscream they're trash. I guess I had to reiterate that to myself but Hasbro makes trash only.
Is it so hard for Hasbro to make Megatron transform into a toy gun? Like why couldn't they've painted an orange cap at the end of it? Also Hasbro is full of sh*t of how they talk about not wanting to make any toy guns because of their policy, yet they still make Nerf guns.

The easiest solution for it would be the SS86 Megatron to be a voyager that transforms to a Walther P38 thats undersized. Don’t make it a gun that fits into the hand of a child, engineer it to be unmistakably undersized for a gun and give it an orange cap.
The 35th anniversary cel shaded siege Megatron is the only one i own and I think he's got the best looking robot mode in the mainline but the solid grey backpack/tank treads kills the tank mode it just looks wrong.
If we could get a legends megatron that is upscaled to CHUG scale then that would be the best option.
Hopefully Hasbro sneaks in a secret 3rd mode for 86 Megs as his classic gun mode or gun mode that's close to the classic as possible without having a greater risk of being sued
And they did do this with Siege/Legacy Soundwave where they gave him a secret 3rd mode that was the Cybertronian streetlight mode so you never know what Hasbro could be cooking with 86 Megs
Totally agree with you on this. Ive been waiting for a good megs since I got siege OP. Putting all my hopes on ss86 next year.
Siege Megs is perfectly good, come on. if you really aint gonna accept it as your "definitive" one, just get the masterpiece, because i dont think ANYTHING is ever gonna satiate you.
That's your opinion, but to say it's perfectly good when we have much better for c list characters your bugging💀
You never did answer the question why there is no definitive G1 Megatron till 2025. I was waiting for an explanation. Anyway.
For me the Dramatic Capture Megatron is my definitive G1 Megatron. Not only does he look the most cartoon accurate, but he also does double duty transforming into a tank which I much prefer over a gun. I am a fan of the old G1 cartoons but I never took his gun mode seriously even when I was a kid when Transformers first came out. I do have gripes with his articulation compared to Earthrise Optimus Prime and I never liked how his feet chill out at the back of his tank mode.
SS86 Megatron will be here in 2025, but will he also be a tank?
I did I explained why each g1 megatron made in generations so far is bad/mid and how the ss86 one being a leader and the recent track record gives it the potential to be the definitive g1 megs lol
@@Chrisjaam oohhh... I didn't take it as an explanation but I get it now. The flaws of the figure prevented them from being definitive. Ok got it. Thanks for clarifying.
But not All these megatrons are Bad
Classics Voyager and deluxe Megatron, combiners wars Megatron (the Best Megatron for me), Titans return Megatron and Siege Megatron are good figures
If Blaster and Eject are getting repainted, I'm not having much hope for Megs
Then again we did get a proper Ultra Magnus. But we also got the ER Starscream again, so it seems like a toss up
The '86 Megatron is suppose to come out THIS year, unless the leaks have changed.
No it's 2025
Well they legally can't make a g1 version of megatron because of toy guns laws Japan can because toy gun laws there are way different there
Yes I discussed that in the video but it still doesn't stop them from the g1 megs we've gotten or the ss86 leader dropping next year
@@Chrisjaam ya but a gun mode meg is out of the question legally
@@TransformersRocks1YT No he isn't actually. He can be made here in America very easily. Hasbro will learn that lesson sooner or later.
@@Tracks2008 Section 4 of the Federal Energy Management Improvement Act of 1988 made it unlawful for any person to manufacture, enter into commerce, ship, transport, or receive any toy, look-alike, or imitation firearm unless the firearm contains, or has affixed to it, a marking approved by the Secretary of Commerce. 15 U.S.C. look it up kid
@@TransformersRocks1YT Once again not that hard since MP-36 exists and has been sold in the states for years. Nice try idiot but Hasbro can make a gun mode Megatron here in the states.
Honestly though the nemesis bridge 3 pack did megatron better.
Could Hasbro get past the Gun Law Issue by putting 18+ on the package?
I agree with everything you said about Seige Megatron especially those feet! He just could not stand properly. When you open the heels all the way, he looks as if he is leaning forward and not in a proper posture.
And I don't understand why people can't see that.
So THANK YOU.
I actually like titans return Megatron, I have it and netflix spoiler megs looks fantastic
You know the masterpiece Megatron exists right?
Did you even watch the video? Im talking about generations
@Chrisjaam my fault
I am OK with siege megatron but I can't wait for the studio series version I hope it's an updated version I hope 86 bumblebee is an update I don't want to see a trashy repaint just an accurate g1 bumblebee I also can't wait for commander class optimus prime
7:44 Jhiaxus has better engineering because he was released 4 years after the siege megatron, there would have been at least some improvements to engineering in transformers
For the studio series 86 megatron, even if they don’t give him a gun mode, I pray that they atleast have a g1 megatron gun accessory
I know legends class megatron was last thing hasbro made in his gun mode without fusion cannon scope
So instead of his ww2 pistol mode why not cybertronian gun mode
Best option is yolo park non transformimg one. A little tall but fits in with the chug line
I have the 35th Anniversary Siege Megatron and it's ok, passable, and serves its purpose. The hands and feet suck, but it looks good.
they won’t make his alt a gun so it’s destined to fail in that regard but the robot mode should probably be pretty nice
Titans return megatron is really good if you ignore the jet kibble
siege megatron is currently severing as my g1 megatron but I am hoping the SS86 Megatron is a new mould and that it surpasses it for articulation and transformation and gives him his back canon. I think hasbro has gotten there remoulding out of siege given how its been used shattered glass, g1 and IDW miner megatron among many others
I'm ok with him being a tank. I just want good bot mode proportions and no weird partsforming accessories.
Tanks but no tanks - I still use my Takara Henkel gun Megatron on g1 decepticons shelf
I'm waiting for SS86 Megatron. The only recent Megatron I have is Netflix War for Cybertron Megatron. It's the Siege mode but repainted with the Netflix brand. I think it was a Walmart exclusive.
I think it's a little bit cooler than Siege Megatron because it's a gunmetal paint job on him, and he comes with a couple targetmasters(?) For additional weaponry, as well as a couple blast effects.
why you so mad about a megatron not having bicep swivel when it has a forearm swivel? it funtions exactly the same. sounds like you're ranting for no reason
Why are you pinpointing 1 random nitpick I had out all the valid criticisms I brought up?
cause that comment is restarted. why don't you actually answer my question instead huh? oh yeah because NOW you realize your comment is stupid. if you don't want ppl to be annoyed, don't make stupid commnets@@Chrisjaam
But then you'll have Optimus Prime up against Galvatron
I agree, I still don't have a Megatron in my chug, generations, classics collection.
Really feel like they could easily do a siege shockwave or soundwave with 86 Megatron if it was that much of an issue.
Im glad I still have my hegemon
He's like Batman. Even if the toy representing him is bad, it will still sell because he's Megatron.
i think the best way they could do an ss86 megs would be to give him his gun mode as an acessory
I really liked Seige Megs myself. But I have the Netflix version and I do agree Meg gets screwed versus Prime.
I have to be honest I bought the Nemesis pack only for shockwave so I can use him as my MMC Bruticas's gun!
Wait there's a G1 earth mode prowl????
Id like a Titans return Tank/plane megatron same size as g1 optimus prime
Yeah I said that at first but it slips😭😭 idk man there trying to follow the same philosophy that started in 2019
They could just make it a Takara Tomy exclusive. People still buy things off of Japanese markets from all around the world
This is why he lost against Frieza?
There is one and only made by a third party unique toys made a gi accurate Megatron gun mode and it looks amazing
@@CrimsonCobraCommander You can keep your 3rd Party Transformers toy gatekeeping, because I'm done lol.
Look certain characters the original well always be the best anything after is a copy with slightly different personalities sorry but its true its true that the g1 unique toys is the best version of a G1 but its not the best Megatron in my opinion that title goes to beast wars Megatron that my opinion though
🤨
@@Chrisjaam Sorry, it's just that I just don't really see what's so special about the upcoming SS86 Megatron that everyone loves so much lol.
They made a good Galvatron, I hope they'll the same with Megs
I don’t think using legacy voyagers as a comparison to convey the mediocrity of the Siege Megatron mold, mainly due to the amount of time between those releases; a better comparison would be using voyagers from around the same time, like Siege and Earthrise.
It's the same design philosophy and a continuation on what the wfc trilogy started. Why wouldn't it be a good comparison when legacy is a sequel line?
I heard it's still going to be a tank, sadly.
8:01 GOD DAMMIT STOP CALLING HIM JIXUS!!!
Oh
If they're gonna just give us a Tank Megatron again, just make it in the Gamer Edition and call it "Devastation Universe" Megatron and give us parts tk make him look more Cartoon-esque
Bruh, does EVERYTHING have to be like that stupid cartoon to you or what??
@@PolarityOfNeoSoulCity Well alright then, nevermind that I made assumptions I guess :/
Are you aware of gun laws, about gun replaicas in general, including toy guns?
Are you aware that's not even what the video was about? Watch before assuming so you don't look dumb.
I agree with these choices but if you want the best Megatron ever made The third party unique toys version is the best you will ever find NIW as for Hasbro as least we got a great galvatron as for Hasbro good Megatron beast wars trex and dragon and RID are really good in my opinion everything else is to big or doesn't scale well
if studio series 86 megatron is a tank and not a gun. but takara makes a gun megatron. im buying the japanese version
I can't agree on seige megs I really like that one
I had a Gun Megatron…
But its JB
Well, another figure that was poorly constructed and poorly designed was the power of the primes hot rod/Rod prime. The only one from that power of the primes line that I visually liked was Orion/Optimus prime.
The Titans Return Megatron was WAY better than that aweful Combiner Wars version.
Gun mode Megatron please
Goddamnit you're 1 hundred percent right. I am in denial until we see a studio 86 Megatron. All these old Megatrons are ugly as fuck.
Nerf gun got NURFED ...... But is still fun to play with ~
There are various ways that Hasbro could legally sell a Megatron that turns into a gun, they're just idiots that refuse to do so.
105
Im more of a Galvatron guy....
I had the Nerf gun one.
I agree with all points. All “G1” interpretations of Megatron is TRASH!!!!!
Takara tomy made classics megatron silver
I wonder why we don't get an artillery cannon mode for megs
Megs prefers to lead and fight in the frontline, thus tank (hover tank in the games of High Moon Studios make).
Shockwave would suit the artillery / SPG alt mode option better.
