- Are you using an aftermarket steering wheel? In this video, we tested our reinforced steering wheels stress test compared with some other brands out in the market and the results were stunning. It proves that our reinforced steering wheels can withstand up to 800 lbs of force before changing its form. Don't let the looks fool you when picking up an aftermarket steering wheel.
Big shout out to Odi Bakchis from Feal Suspension for letting us use the tools. - Авто/Мото
You guys should test dynamic loading as well , that would mock an actual accident . Nobody is slowing bending their wheel like that in real life
I had this NRG wheel that I could bend by hand when mounted to my quick release. It was a flat wheel but no joke I made it have a 1.5in depth lmao.
So it's twice as good as eBay, but only half as good as OEM. Got it..
So it fucken trash
Any aftermarket steering wheel is half as good as OEM. It's missing a fucking airbag XD
the background music throughout this video wrecks any dialog... is there a version without any music?
First video in recommended is don't buy cheap steering wheels with a pic of an NRG wheel in two pieces lol
Elliott Fontaine that dude in blue? 😂😂
Yeah lmao, my buddy is selling me his for 20 cuz he doesn't like it so ima cop it lol I wont have it longer then probably a year but I wanna know if it's even worth my safety
He was using a knock off nrg wheel guys. Not a real nrg wheel.
@@ThePlantedTankTV thank you
Your only competitor is eBay? Nice.
Yeah try against a MOMO or Nardi
You cant compare nardi to nrg they are in completely different price range
@@paskatvideotfan8760 Steering wheel is a steering wheel
This smells a lot like damage control.
Correct me if i am wrong, but if the wheel is this structurally sound, wouldn't it be wise to use it with a crush-type hub, which the company does not offer?
yes, it's safer
Would have been good to see a real wheel comparison with some sparcos or sabelts in there. Nrg are quality and decent for the price but that’s about it, there’s a reason they’re like $100 cheaper
Nrg made the garbage steering wheel that that dude in blue had, it wasnt even fully metal
I love that I saw that car and immediately went "ope! Odie!"
What about the seats ??
What about the woodgrain juan
Music was a bit too loud
You need to show the side to flex test, as well as ensure the qc of the new products are up to par. This is not enough damage control. Prove that all the videos online and threads in forums are referring to knockoffs or old products. You cant be a mid price competitor with shit quality. Also are the rings welded on now or still glued in?
Wouldn't you need to put blocks where your hands would be situated during a crash? This is basically loading the entire face of the wheel which is... impossible with two hands...
i want one of those Hats.
Sparco.
The benchmark should have been the 1400lbs from the OEM wheel.
After market should perform close if not exceed that number.
Your highest was 860?
As you said, for the price! Spend cheap, get cheap.
my buddy bought an nrg wheel and it came apart from normal use lmfao
You should never be holding on to your steering wheel during an accident anyways.. Good way to get seriously injured. You watch any race car driver and they always let go of the wheel a split second before impact as to not snap your wrists.
I love the comparison to real wheels, like Nardi, OMP, and Momo.. oh wait..
Oem all day
So with all this test comparison, you all made me decide to completely buy an “ebay” aftermarket steering wheel! I mean who would want a steering wheel that don’t bulge on impact? If my chest or face lands on those hard steering wheel im sure something has to give, either my skull or ribs. Now with the cheap ebay ones at least my upper body parts have a chance of surviving due to the wheel giving in slightly and acts like a little cushion. And i can buy another cheap ebay one for around $40 instead of $400 or higher...
TheJeetkunedo242000 that’s why you wear seatbelts
You're a proper idiot. The reason steering wheels are strong is so they don't buckle and bent from daily use. But by all means you go and buy a $40 steering wheel and see how that works out for you.
bob ross that’s why we don’t offer cheap wheels...
I think the wheels did exactly what they were supposed to. The stock wheel held about 1500psi, the NRG 800-900psi... Wouldn't you say that is a fair amount of give over the stock assembly, while also adding a fair amount of rigidity over the cheaper wheels? (300-400psi?)
I mean, where is your exact PERFECT psi #? Because apparently NRG's 700-900psi doesn't suit you, how about the factory 1500psi or the Ebay 400psi, Dummy?
bob ross do u realize NRG is also an ebay brand and do bend? But i did a $40 ebay steering wheel and it does the job like my red NRG 320 mm steering wheel did. I just wanted to change it upand got an ebay 280 mm one lol
Can't hear you over the music
Cool testing but, the back round music was to loud
i love back round music so much
I been needing a pair of the nrg 300 geo in all black could you hook me up I can not find them any were man I love them seat Send me to a link or something thanks keep the RUclips going
*Strongest* isn't as a good as oem wheel
For all those calling it ebay brand. Ebay does not make them. Its a market place for people to sell their shit..alot of good companies sell their shit through ebay. Just saying to those people who dont know the difference.
Nrg stepping their game up tho! Good steering wheel feel than before.
Nrg wholesales their shit from china.
Just like how you can buy Brembo brake pads on eBay. does that mean Brembo is an eBay brand? Hell no lol
They call them eBay brand steering wheels because everyone knows that’s where a bunch of fake and cheap wheels are commonly sold. Everyone knows eBay isn’t a manufacturer.
Press in the other direction and I bet the results are very different. The guy with the NrG wheel on RUclips pulled towards him. If you think about, it most of the pressure will be towards the driver. Marketing BS here.
Also they're loading the entire face of the wheel. Surely you can't load the entire diameter of the steering wheel with two hands, placing blocks under where your hands would be would make it a fair test.
Lmao like if your gonna put that much pressure on it while driving 😂😂 if your crashing sure those test would matter
Sooooo your competition is ebay..... nice
actually... I don't think you'd want the wheel to be super rigid in the event of a crash... if you go into it upon sudden deceleration and it doesn't budge... your ribcage/head WILL... all your most vital organs are in these areas... perhaps past a certain point it should fail predictably to absorb energy/momentum & prevent damage but be strong enough to not break or fold at 'a harsh word'... my 2 cents
Or keep the OEM one, that is not only stronger, but it has airbags.
If you are thinking of a racing setting, you should have racing that properly hold your body.
MoMo Monte Carlo >
Buy Sparco/Momo/Personal/nardi
Turn the chicken music down can hear shit
nah nrg sucks, steering wheel spokes were crooked and the stitching was trash, good thing i only paid 100 for it, moved on up to a 320mm momo instead
MoMo is #1 steering wheel & adapter hub.... handmade in Italy
A replica nrg wheel like nrg doesn’t make replica wheels 😂 that’s like saying those rep xxrs
It’s just for steering , what a Unnecessary test
I smell 🧢
If you guys could take the stupid music off your video so I can actually hear what you're saying that'd be great
Biased
It’s just a steering wheel , unnecessary Test
Why are you testing if an 800lb gorilla can push on your wheel along the steering axis? What are you trying to prove here? If you hit your head so hard on your wheel that it bends, you're not driving your car home.
Christian Gotsch in the past they've gotten a bad name for their steering wheels bending very easily from performance driving, and even pulling yourself up to get out of the car. Testing at this much pressure shows their product has made leaps in improvement.
I was thinking the same, im pretty sure i dont use that many pounds of force to turn corners or whatnot
