And to tie him up I think was justified cause if he was in on it then Du’met wouldn’t kill him. It’s funny though cause during the game I honestly thought Erin was in on it. Understandable? Tying someone up you suspect is one thing, but in this case, tying him up = him being easily murdered, which they should have well known. You don't just tie someone up defenseless and leave them alone when a serial killer is on the loose. But then again, they did the same thing with Erin two seconds after she'd been attacked, so this lot was clearly mental to begin with.

@@lavender9658 ; exactly what they said. culture plays a part in body language & behavior. her being indian/south asian influences the way she moves her head when speaking.
People who think Erin is unreasonable for falling for the fake call clearly don't understand how the brain works when you're scared and panicked. You do not think straight, at all. You cannot process things very well... Causing you to act irrationally and act out, so no actually Erin isn't entirely to blame for this, Sure she could have had more faith in Charlie but let's be fair here... Charlie was being extremely mean and cruel towards her, showed signs of aggression (not directly at the team but still) and his ability to survive the furnace... suspicious...
Tbh throughout most of the game I thought the twist would be Charlie was involved, he kept making excuses for DuMet, and dismissed Erin's fears when she nearly died in that room. I assumed he was involved but DuMet turned on him and tried to kill him too with the fire
He wasn't the only one who dismissed her fears. Any reasonable human in his place would dismiss her fears. And why don't you apply the same logic to her case? According to her own words, she was locked up in a room with the murderer, all alone by herself, yet for some reason, she wasn't killed? Suspicious, isn't it? Oh, I know, she must be an accomplice herself.
To be honest, Erin did what she could with her experience of survival skills possibility none. She isn't a soldier or fighter . It's normal she is in shock and seeks the first action for her survival when she panics. Unlike us , she doesn't have a pause function to analyse what happened and have no idea of what others did. You can't blame her to not process everything calmy when you almost died 10 times in less of 2 hours. She recognised she was a fool and asks forgiveness once she release her mistake
@@rufure9294 that's true and I do like that Erin actually apologizes for her mistake unlike most characters in other games when they are wrong they get defensive.
@@icy5656 I don't defend her but making a point that in that situation she was completely justified that being paranoid about Charlie's actions and seeking survival. Even without the tape, there were a lot of evidences of Charlie could been accomplice: he was the one who accepted the invitation , also followed the rules of no phones, been awful to everyone and seems to care more about his show more than his employees ,was supposed to be dead and reappears by unknown miracle . Thankfully you control the other guy so you can reason with Erin. She panicked like anyone normal after almost be killed 4 times in the same hour. She was on the survival mode and seeks safety by being suspicious at everyone. She wasn't on her right mind sure when she asked to tie Charlie but that didn't make her psychopath trying to survive and panic. I think it made more human because human (or at least regular civilian person ) normally can't act rationally when they are in danger. Besides She didn't kill him , it was the killer. I agree the tying someone while there a killer around is 100% guilty but Erin did what she thought was right to survive. She was wrong and Thankfully you can correct her before she makes a fatal mistake
I know it’s for conspiracy effect but erin seriously is stupid for this one, charlie speaking normally the whole game but believes the recording that the killer left immediately
TLDR -- EVERY character was being played by a former FBI profiler who abused both their physical and mental traits. If you are the type of player who immediately picked a side, then you would have been a perfect target for Du'Met. After all, a team that in-fights and distrusts itself is a lot easier to split up and abuse, hence there were so many mind-games before Du'Met started acting like a budget Vorhees Myers. There's two sides to consider. Firstly, keep in mind that Erin is a young and impressionable intern with confidence issues, not a wisened expert with tonnes of life experience - hence Du'Met lured her into a room full of fake evidence and then used Jamie to test Erin's loyalty, knowing they were close with each other. Ironically, we (the players/viewers) can listen to the entire (unedited) Charlie conversation immediately after the prologue, but the 'fake' version is discovered so much later that even the players/viewers will have forgotten the normal version. As for Charlie, people need to remember that he's desperate to save the show, hence the stress, impending eviction, ignoring logic, using an unpaid intern, undercutting a skeleton crew, the need for smokes, and being an ass in general. However, as soon as he realizes that the danger is legitimate, the first thing he does is tell everyone to get the hell out before being targeted. He also shows the most empathy and dismay if he survives the ordeal and gets informed of dead comrades after escaping the house. Whether you love Charlie or hate him, he arguably had the most brutal experience of the night. Being partially cooked in a furnace, risked being ground up into a paste in a crusher, was scared shitless by Connie, was punched by Mark, risked being killed by his own team, risked falling to his death crossing beams, avoided a meathook to the chest, avoided decapitation, and THEN decided to try and quit smoking. That shit's rough, and we'll never know if he ever got to finish Season 1 or made Season 2.

nah, tying up charlie is not a bad ending... it's a hot ending DAMN! 🥵
Funny, TeosGame played this co-op, saw the tape with Erin and was waiting for the confrontation but it never happened, they just found the other tapes and she said she was an idiot. This game was so bugged in co-op they were playing totally different stories with different cutscenes.
whats more frustrating than Erin not noticing the obvious edit (and it doesn't matter that shes a sound technician, literally everyone who played the game knew it was an edit) is that when they finally DO realise it's an edit they choose to turn the light on first INSTEAD of untying Charlie? Just leaving him out in the pouring rain where theres possibly a murderer running around?
I love games like this that have many different choices & outcomes. When I watched this game. Erin was the first to die & apparently there’s another scenario where she makes it this far 🤷🏾♂️
There was literally static between the clips of one of the recordings, how did erin possibly fall for it?? When she dies, others like mark listen to the tapes instead and are like huh. Clearly fake.
Dumet knows Erin has severe issues with anxiety and asthma, and being an FBI agent he can easily manipulate Erin into thinking something was real because of her issues, also, he tormented Erin the most, she has the most trust issues cause of it
Honestly, first recording never sounded fake to me, it just sounded like charlie was really tired and depressed but still had a hard time ordering the job
It didn't sound fake to me either, more like it appeared fake. The location where it was found, the fact that the murderer used a tape recorder, the absence of the second party on the recording, and I simply wouldn't implicitly trust the murderer or any of his evidence.
Am I the only person that remembers the “COMPLICIT” carved into Charlie’s chest from something else I feel like it’s a reference or just really similar to something i have seen before.
Mark being able to hold down and tie up charlie makes no sense. It says in the medical record that charlie weighs 204lbs and mark only weighs 119lbs. Charlie also looks built compared to mark so he could easily overpower him. maybe charlie was just being compliant in this case?
@@scottslattery7195In the control room, go downstairs and you'll find a bulletin board and a table with information about the team. There is a book on the table with the crew's medical information.
No need for Charlie to diss Mark by saying "You're both f mad", just after Mark said he believed Charlie. Some of the script could have used a bit longer in the oven.
Poor charlie, (Singleplayer) He had to survive the blazing Hell on that furnace,it even showed him having Burns idk if major, minor but damn thats a metal grate which also makes it hotter? Idk science but still that blazing heat can probably kill you (Multi-player) Goddamn mark didnt help (1) Man thats just cruel (Door attempt) Thats sad, even if charlie escaped he'd be badly burnt & dumet just gonna slice him up to pieces, or maybe knowing dumet charlie will probably just get thrown back at the furnace and lock the door once more (Grinder) My god thats goddamn terifying most people wouldn't be calm it that situation (QTE) Then lastly This scene, Charlie survived Blazing Hell just to get betrayed by a set up or if saved he still protected everyone by knocking out dumet in that house or building
I know Erin was in the wrong here, but it was so satisfying for me to see her confront Charlie like that, this is pretty much the only moment we see her being this assertive. She's the one person in the group (besides Mark perhaps) that actually tries to be nice to everyone yet Charlie just treats her the shittiest. And unlike the other characters, she doesn't have the confidence to stick up for herself. I also believe one of the reasons she went that hard on him was because of pent up anger from being mistreated. If she already secretly resented Charlie, that tape probably just aggravated it.
You remind me of morons who'd cheer on a homicide as long as it's "girl powah". But even that aside, think about what it would do to Erin. The only time she tried to be assertive and take a stand, she ended up killing an innocent man. It will ruin her self-confidence for the rest of her life. You know, sometimes you have to "supervise" a child or even take their agency away completely for their own sake. You do not learn to swim in the midst of a marathon.
@@miloradowicz did you really have to insult me? I said I KNOW Erin was in the wrong. I'm not justifying her actions, and I'm definitely not saying killing an innocent man is "girl power". All I said is that it felt satisfying for me to see her take charge here. To be honest, I felt somewhat represented by this scene. I'm also usually subdued and struggle to take the reins, but when I'm angry/feel vulnerable I also attempt to take charge in a hasty way like she did, and I ALSO fuck up in most of those moments because they come from me being stressed. See? I'm literally admitting she was hasty and fucked up. I never got as far as indirectly getting someone killed, but I still felt seen here. See? It has nothing to do with radical feminism, it's a personal sentiment. You completely misinterpreted my comment.
Why didnt Erin stop and calmly think about it, have you seen the video of billy on the street where screaming "name a woman" at someone made them not be able to name a single person
Cause the killer was a human working alone, well I think he might have some kind of teleporting powers but human nonetheless. There were 5 of them, they could've tackled him and beat the sh*t outta him instead of playing cat and mouse with him
@@blackairforce13 There's actually a theroy of 2 killers: Hector Munday and G. Du'Met (Don't know how to spell his first name). The evidence for that is obviously the post credit scene where the mask is picked up, but also because the Curator has a list of names crossed out. Both names are on there, but he only crosses out Hector Munday if the killer "dies" on the boat.
@@blackairforce13 The scene with Erin, Jamie, and Kate shows how he gets around so quickly so I'm pretty sure he's just a normal dude. Though it is weird that he survives at the end of the game even if Mark throws the hook right into his heart and possibly gets shredded to bits by the boat..
While it's stupid that this is a point of conflict at all, given that Charlie almost burned to death AND Mark saw it on cams too I'd say that you would have to be insanely short-sighted to side with Erin on this. Du'Met is shown to only kill accomplices AFTER he gets what he wants from them, and while at this point you don't undoubtedly know that, it can still reasonably be inferred that he wouldn't put his accomplices in potentially deadly situations well before he got what he wanted from them(in this case, the deaths of Lonnit's employees). Yes, the writing is bad; yes, Erin's logic is worse; but if you decide to tie up Charles Lonnit then your reasoning is actually the worst.
Honestly, the fact that he survived the burning to death makes him pretty sus. If I thought I saw someone die on video and then they suddenly turned up again after a night of me being hunted by a psycho killer... I don't know that I would immediately trust their story. Throw in that they're totally confused about what's going on half the time and have no idea why all of this is happening it doesn't seem like such a leap that the person who brought them there might be in on it.
@@shyviolets No? I'm not talking about you, the player, not the characters. There is literally no reason to suspect Charlie post-incinerator trap. Literally there is a Picture that shows him dying with his arm through the door.

in my 1st playthrough i found scenes with the tapes so out of place, cause no one blamed charlie but he started defending and explaining himself. and now i understand why - you have to have erin alive for charlie to be blamed. and only with her accusation it all starts to make sense. another fuck up, SG.
Defending the impressionable young intern who was under duress before everyone else, then shoved into a fake evidence room to have her loyalty forcefully tested by a former FBI profiler turned serial killer? The latest rookie/recruit who is playing it by ear under pressure, instead of an expert working on the clock in a professional environment? After weeks of unpaid labour, enduring Charlie's overbearing nature, and capable of discovering his desperation (eg. eviction notices)? Of course people will defend her. She's a likeable character, and the situation has two sides. I feel the same when I see people immediately hating on Charlie just because he's a desperate and overbearing addict trying to save his passion project. I love Charlie as a character, but I can also give you a shopping list of reasons as to why most people will do nothing but hate him before the dinner scene has even concluded, even when you try to play him 'nicely'. That's the joy of this situation. Both sides have justification, even if Charlie is (ultimately) not guilty.
4:59 Correct me if I am wrong but why did she lie? She doesn't know if he made it out, she literally tied up him up with a serial killer on the loose so how can she say that? He was most likely killed soon after they left, maybe not even 10 minutes after. She also used her horrible recording skills to falsely accuse him of setting them all up to die. When I do my own play through, she isn't making it 🤣🤣
The whole moment with edited tapes doesn't make sense. Why did Munday do this? Just to troll Erin? It's just pointless. If he wanted to make Charlie a mastermind behind this in case the police will find out about the murders, he still wouldn't escape the punishment.
He's a former FBI profiler. He tailors the house and traps based on each character's personality and weaknesses. For example, funnelling Erin into a room full of fake evidence and then forcefully having Jamie test Erin's loyalty at the risk of death. Things like that, the mannequin dinner, the fake groundskeeper (etc) are all to separate the group and sow discord. Erin breath-traps (O2 vacuum and enclosed dusty spaces), Charlie furnace (smoker), Jamie & Kate rivalry (glass-trap decision), the desire to use Kate as leverage against Mark so that he'll become the new Ferry Man, etc. Du'met's plan doesn't hinge on Charlie being blamed - he just dangled some bait and let everyone in-fight.
Anyone with half a brain would've realized the message was edited, seeing how the killer loves to use recordings to make his "mannequins" say what he wants.
Yes. Jack did find the tape though but it's just the clip of Charlie saying it was bullshit and that it was edited. A lot is omitted from Jack's playthrough because of Erin dying early sadly. She adds a lot of extra content if she's alive for a long time.
Better choose Erin Death in my own gameplay. Idk, i just hate her much much more than Charlie. Charlie just have a Smoking Issue that Made him fall in to trap once in Furnace thing, but Erin 🙂. Edit : 8:14 "I Know What I Heard" 🙂
Their game is fine, but they started to not focus on character development. Which is kinda sad and bad. The characters are acting for the sake to create conflict, Like when Charlie saw the blood "Yeah, it's a bit odd" They are not creating a character that is 'loveable', more like unreasonable characters always fighting. which is super annoying.
@@dee-dr7kt in the asylum room, across where the 2 animatronics are, there's a white folding screen you can go up to and pull aside, where the tape player is sitting on top of a stretcher

Kate may be a bitch, but she's the person with the most integrity. She's forgiving and understanding if Jamie chooses to save herself; she's willing to die a slow and painful death rather than be the reason the next five innocent people got lured into the death trap. Erin came across as nothing but a petulant child to me.
Several reasons come to mind, but I say it's because they thought he was Sus, so I guess it's mocking from Du met? Like "Oh? You thought he was in on it now he's dead."
I thnk he literally was - he says he accepted everything DuMet said without thinking because he wanted it to work so badly. He ignored countless red flags even while everyone expressed their discomfort or unease. He handwaved so much. He is definitely complicit - just not because of the recording at face value like Erin thought.
@@lookhoneyanabomination I'd disagree. I think there's a line between gullibility and willful ignorance. With each passing weird thing he chose willful ignorance. I was also suspicious of everything as a viewer (I'm not unfamiliar with Dark Pictures games so I knew they were in for a time), but Charlie flat out ignored and downplayed every downright suspicious occurrence - including blood smears (and this was *after* so much else that the others pointed out)!

You cannot process things very well... Causing you to act irrationally and act out, so no actually Erin isn't entirely to blame for this,
Sure she could have had more faith in Charlie but let's be fair here... Charlie was being extremely mean and cruel towards her, showed signs of aggression (not directly at the team but still) and his ability to survive the furnace... suspicious...

Erin is toxic psychopath.
I understand the speculation, but those recordings were so badly spliced together that it's questionable how Erin fell for it.
@@rufure9294 And you make excuses for her? She is a psychopath. My congratulations. You defend a psychopath who killed a men.
Charlie is ripped af.
Hey baby
It was just a prank, Charlie.
Okay but like charlie is kinda buff😳😳😳😳😳😳
That shit's rough, and we'll never know if he ever got to finish Season 1 or made Season 2.

whats more frustrating than Erin not noticing the obvious edit (and it doesn't matter that shes a sound technician, literally everyone who played the game knew it was an edit) is that when they finally DO realise it's an edit they choose to turn the light on first INSTEAD of untying Charlie? Just leaving him out in the pouring rain where theres possibly a murderer running around?

In no other dark pictures game did i think that u can easily fuck up the killer like in this one

I like the way everyone is defending Erin because they like her
Defending the impressionable young intern who was under duress before everyone else, then shoved into a fake evidence room to have her loyalty forcefully tested by a former FBI profiler turned serial killer?

She also used her horrible recording skills to falsely accuse him of setting them all up to die. When I do my own play through, she isn't making it 🤣🤣
wow you’re just as a bad as the killer
*Can you please record it even MORE darker? I can almost see something there, this time* ...
