  • In this review I go over the Kizer GPB 1 designed by John Grey. The GPB 1 (General Purpose Blade) is based on John Grey’s THUCC custom folding knife. I although the. GPB 1 may be big, thicc, and heavy, it actually is incredibly useful for just about anything you would use it for. Rather accurately cutting tape on boxes using the foward choil, cutting and rocking the belly of the blade for kitchen task, doing heavy power cuts through touchy material or even tactical training and situations. The GPB 1 is designed to concur any task you throw at it. Instead of being a Jack of all trades…master of none, John Grey did a fantastic job at the design that it feel’s perfect in all situations other than being discreet…LOL
Although this is no gray man’s knife, the GPB 1 carries well due to its 3D milled pocket clip. The Titanium frame lock offers a rock solid lockup while being a breeze to use and fidget. Speaking of fidgeting, the GBP 1 has a fantastic action that deploys with authority and drama. From the noise to the smooth action to the design to the ergonomics, the GPB 1 is something truly unique and special in a world of cut and paste, vanilla knives.

Don’t listen to the blade steel people . S35VN and even good heated treated 440c is good steel . Even 154 cm and 14c because it practically hardens air drying .

Can’t understand why people like metal handles on knives.
And what steel is the blade?

CPM-S35VN is the steel of the blade. I guess it’s all preference. Some people like wood, others Carbon Fiber. I like Micarta, Titanium and Aluminum.
