That pivot is crazy
We have so many knives in common. I love your videos. Matter of fact I just ordered one from WMK for $110 ($105) with shipping and a 10% discount) after seeing your video. I have been eyeing this knife for a long time. At half price it was a no brainer. Thanks again my friend for posting this!
That’s a Beastie Boy. Unique design. It costs more to make it than $100.
Great looking Beast, i like the thumb stud lock up.
Happy thanksgiving and love that knife!!!
That's a big blade. It's an interesting design. Great review 👍
Got mine today. A real bugger to open. Tried loosening the pivot a millimeter, got instant slop side to side. Going to disassemble, clean, and KPL it lightly . If it doesn't improve, it's going back. ✌ 😃
Great to hear that. Mine's been good from day one but from an older batch I think... 👊🗡️👍
@@OGBladeReviews Well, cleaned, KPL'ED and can't deploy due to pressure from the four fingers on the right hand on the frame lock. Opens with the left hand just fine. Not a lefty though. ..
I'm going to orange peel texture the handles and clip dark bronze and polish the pivot and flame anodize it purple /blue along with the body screws. Hell, if It won't flip, it'll look good failing! 👍 😃
Yeah should look good that way! 👍🗡️👊
@@jamesbarisitz4794 FYI, I just picked one of these up BNIB from someone's collection recently, and mine had the 100% exact same issue as you described, right down to the 'works fine left handed, but I'm not left handed'.
I loosened my lock bar tension, which helped a little. But the detent was still hard to break about 50% of the time. I didn't want to keep loosening it more, because the lockup was already at the limit of my safety comfort level with such a heavy blade. What finally fixed it was adding a very small detent ramp.
Man what a night and day difference. It's absolutely perfect now. I can even wrist flick the blade out now, which is always a cool trick when you have a heavy blade that can generate a lot of momentum like the GPB1.
So if you have a Dremel with a small diamond ball shaped bit, it will only take you 10 minutes to get your knife working perfect 👍
That's one great knife. I wish I would have got one a year ago when I first seen them. I love the thumb studs. Really broke right now I hope they're around when I get some money together
Good score Dave! 👍
Always wanted to check this one out. Guess I should now that they're on sale!
You'll need to check around. Looks like WMK has already sold out! 😣🗡️😣
Hey Old Sword! I always liked this design! You can use it in the kitchen too! Greetings
Happy thanksgiving 🦃🍽🍁
Also does this come in the camo pouch with the cloth? It looks like John Gray's name used to be on the blade spine but now its on the right side of the blade.
Out of stock! Thuck
lol, yep, already gone.....but nice. Would be a good match to my S35/Ti Kizer Roach and S35/Ti Kizer Guru, so wishlist it goes. Now the wait......
Yes I was afraid that would happen... LOL! 😣🗡️😣
BladeHQ still has some in stock $150
Looks nice ....I was thinking of getting a cold steel code 4 but this might have changed my mind.
Thanks this is a hefty usable blade for sure. Handle's going to be a bit slicker than the Code 4 is all. Something to consider. Thanks for watching! 👍🗡️👊
@@OGBladeReviews thank you for the advice .
Well OS that cool 🔪 is gone. Damn I was hoping to get in on that discount and grab a very funky Kizer
Check Chicago Knife works - discounted, although not as much....
I just got mine yesterday, and with my medium-size hand I cannot open it one-handed, my thumb does not reach far enough. This is certainly a big blade. Nice video!!
Yeah, just gotta choke up a bit... 👊🗡️
give it a cleaning and some frog lube and you should be able to flick it open.
it's a bit hard to find the sweetspot on these studs but once you got it you should be able to open it one-handed, even with smaller hands.
i really digg the design but i wouldn't call it tactical or hard use, even if the blade can take a beating.
the lack of jimping and the smooth handle make it just a tad too slippery to trust it for rough stuff.
Yes, a good candidate for some texturing, which might happen. 👍🗡️
@@OGBladeReviews this is one good thing about the plain looking kizer scales, they are open for all kinds of mods! i have seen some pretty amazing looking gpb1-mods!
The blade is as wide as some knifes blade length. + Monster pivot. Out of my price range but i enjoy the video!
Is the Pivot captured or free spinning?
Appears to be captured. No problem loosening without the other side turning...
Its for 110 in White Mountain as of this post
@@voodoosan2299 that's also out of my range! But thank you
