How are you enjoying the new Spider-Man game?
GameSpot my fucking game wont install
GameSpot it has a great story
It was amazing i mostly liked how challenging the combat was especially. But like God of War it has this cliffhanger ending that leave you wanting more in terms of narrative... (fingers crossed at a sequel soon)
My personal GOTY so far.
Yup - GOTY - Amazing Spider-man game. Web swinging is awesome, story is surprisingly well done.
Love how he's wearing the ESU shirt. But man him and the Insomniac team deserve all the praise they're getting. So much time and attention was put into this project. Something that you don't get from a superhero game nowadays.
Yeah it has not been a realy great super hero game in a while
Game Brothers If you consider 3 years a while then yeah
Yeah i do
I want the shirt
Yeah as you make a video about how they’re liars
I really just want Insomniac to stick with Spider-Man. I love other characters as well but no one compares to the love I have for Spider-Man. Insomniac should just stick with him, they’ve done such an amazing job
I agree, I feel like they should at least make a trilogy. But I'd also love to see their take on other characters as well.
KillerTacos - TheEvolutionryGamer not to mention if they really wanted to they could even do a venom spin off if they could make it work plus theres just so much material they have to work with on their version of spider man
I feel you... but they should do the HULK NEXT. Another Hulk Ultimate Destruction type game is long overdue, it would easily do well
yea but after they should try to expand that way we know no one gonna fuck up the next one my vote it either hulk or captain America I feel like thous two are up there ally.
Sony is planning to do a Marvel Game Universe with different studios tackling different superheroes.
Bryan seems like the neighbor that would help you move..
Funny enough he is😂😂
I guess you could say he's just your friendly Neighborhood guy huh?
😂😂😂😂 omg
The friendly neighborhood you mean... 😉
Bryan: “I thought singleplayer games were dead?!” 😂 mocking EA’s moronic statement. Good on him!
MrSmilesCam single player shooters rely on one thing writers aren’t prepared to write on and it’s emotional heartache. War is ugly and they can only do so much character development to keep you interested. People have to die that you care about in the game and the revenge/justice you dispense have to match it. Shooter stories are hard.
@@MrMann-gt1eh lol wtf are u on about bro?
Mr. Mann lol people die in almost if not every single action story. This one included.
@@talkingcontroller9396 No one died in Arkham Knight.
Mugdha Mahdi Shams yes people died in Arkham Knight.
I love to listen to someone speak about something they are really passionate about.
Masood Gool agree 100% so refreshing seeing him get choked up at some points
This is the greatest Spider-Man game ever. If you have to play only one SM game for the rest of your life, make it this one.
not this one but one of the sequels since gameplay wise is probably going to be a lot better than this
@@danieleanzaldi well I mean atm this one is the best
Love this game thank you insomniac to made this game, all fans would love to see more Marvel heroes coming up in the future from you guys...from Thailand fans
CORRECTION: "From Thailand PlayStation Owners".👍👍👍
But how they are own by Sony they only can do spiderman
@@dragondragonball494 are you high? Just because Insomniac is owned by Sony doesn't mean Insomniac can only make Spider-Man games. Which we obviously know now that Insomniac announced it's working on a Wolverine game as well as a Spider-Man sequel
You and Cory Barlog should have a beer together and send a pic to EA.
Stop with the EA hating bandwagon
Hades you need to stop being a troll
Hades
After what they've been doing? lmao
@@omarsabir1210 they deserve all the hate ffs. They're literally under criminal investigation because of how scummy they are.
@@BryMakesArt Are they?
everyone thanking insomniac. how bout we thank sony for this too? microsoft, this is how you take care of your publishers and developers.
Jam Chua boom... shots fired! 😉
Microsoft: "give me rent!"
This game has totally changed my life. Thank you so much Insomniac 😊😊😊

Voice Actors of Sasuke Uchiha and Temari from Naruto are married in real life and both voice acted in Spider-Man PS4. Yuri is talking to Yuri in the game. And Yuri in the game actually his wife I. Real life wtf mind blowing 😂😂😂
And then they will soon fight each other.......spider man vs wraith
Usually I just alt tab while listening through these interviews, especially since its over 40 mins but seeing just how happy, enthusiastic and passionate he is talking about what he worked on and loves it just warms your heart.
Hats off to you insomniac man I love this game, it's my dream spider man game. Thank you again for making it 👌👌👌😎😎
Is it even good?
Meanwhile, where the fuck is that avengers game they showed us last year?
@@kingj3597 It's great, easily the best Spider-Man game ever and possibly the best superhero game ever
@@apictureoffunction I will wait for a price drop I am going to Metro Exodus Aurora Limited Edition next month before it is sold out. I hope u enjoy Spider Man
@@kingj3597 Thanks, I've definitely been enjoying it. Enjoy Metro, I'm sure it'll be legit! I only ever got to play a little bit of the first one but I could tell it had a lot of potential
Watching the haters is lovely. Say what ya want this game was and is a masterpiece. Amazing game. Can’t wait for the sequel. Great job insomniac
Drink in their tears my dude
GhastlyCloud 775 to me it’s a masterpiece or very close not a lot of problems to each their own though.
Yeah same for me. In my opinion.
You can tell who has actually played the game & who hasn’t. Lmao the ones who haven’t played the game keep saying it’s an Arkham rip off. Lmao the combat feels nothing like Arkham. The game challenges you & rewards you once you master certain gameplay elements
@@Anonymous.Throne Arkham is Spiderman 2 ripoff
I like his response to the single-player games being dead comment. I honestly can't comprehend that statement. There will always be a place for single-player games, albeit they may not make as much money as multi-player games or have nearly the same longevity, a good single player game will ALWAYS sell and I significantly prefer them over multiplayer games. I would be devastated if they stopped making single-player games!
Devastated? I would outright declare gaming to be completely dead if single player games ceased to exist
@@Supersonicspyro I agree
Well as you can see....13 million copies sold and were bought by sony.....yea they wont stop
Single player games are here and they'll never die out, because people like myself love being invested into whole new world and spending countless of hours into that world.
High quality interview with stellar questions and humble compliments. A+ to GameSpot.
I’m glad they devoted so much time on making the story amazing
Very interested how they will go about the sequel (I hope Spider Man 2 is as good a sequel as Arkham City was to Asylum if that makes any sense)...but it’s tricky to have collectibles like the backpack lore again without a good explanation & the exact same NYC etc.
What i’m saying is some things only work well once, now they have to go bigger for the sequel.
Darren Lee I’m hoping they expand pass Manhattan and do other parts of New York collectables would be hard to do again but they got like 5 years to think of something lol
@@Dreggy990 Yeah we can see Peter's childhood home in Queens.
I feel like that it could be 2021. It'll definitely be easier to build the next game now that they have a basis, even if it is on next gen. Definitely will have the map from the first one and more.
@Darren I hope they only make one installment per generation of console like the last of us otherwise it becomes stale. You are right about the collection part, you can't have Spider-Man collecting the same stuff every other game, especially in the same area.
I remember how much annoying it was doing it the third time in arkham origins. Just plain torture
My freind... Spider-Man ps4 was simply the foundation for insomniac and ESPECIALLY for Bryan Intihar.
They *WILL* go beyond.
Exactly to how Rocksteady did it! For gameplay, they will pretty much just bring back the people that worked on combat and traversal... not only will they improve the system towards it's greatest capacity, but to TRULLY go beyond on what they have in mind on their artistic vision FOR IT. What they created back at 2018 was simply *"The canvas"!* They first had to create the *"BASE"* that can truly fit what they have in mind for their vision.
Now that its set in place...
They will come back to the canvas, and bring out their Artistic Visions towards greater lengths and bring a much greater FORM than ever before... Spider-Man 2 will demonstrate the truest potential on what insomniac created back at 2018.
All that collectible stuff btw... they have already showed us his lore and stuff in Spider-Man ps4, what they simply need to do is to abandon the collectible format and TRULY dive deep on side missions.
Making some amazing plot storylines, and to truly dive DEEP within the *CRIME* of New York.
Spider-Man 2 will be insomniac's Arkham City... it'll be their greatest masterpiece indeed.
Bryan and his team deserve every bit of praise. As a life-long Spidey fan the ending of this game hit me so hard. Peter made the biggest sacrifice of his life to save the citizens of the city he loves. The fact that his identity is a secret and only a handful of people will ever truly know what he gave up to protect NY made it even more tragic. Definitely shed a few tears.
Also, I love these videos, Gamespot. Did the same thing with Cory Barlog after GoW came out. It's awesome to see extended interviews with the directors of games I love after the glowing reviews and initial sales figures come in. Nice to see them be able to relax and proudly discuss their game openly without worrying about spoilers.
Wanna hear a joke guys.
Spiderman ps4 - 8.7
Shadow of tomb raider - 9
ANDROID LIFE most stupid shit on planet earth I couldn’t even believe it. Love tomb raider to death and I think the 2013 game was a 9/10, rise was an 8/10, and shadow was a 7/10 they keep getting a little worse every year. Graphics are good though but the love they put into Spider-Man just isn’t there in tomb raider.
@@harrisonm2503 yh..this is ign score btw.. :D
IGN: Fortnite - 9.3/10
Finished Spider-Man yesterday, and boy was it an amazing, spectacular, and quite ultimate game! It's so obvious that you guys poured your soul into in; it really makes you feel like Spider-Man and it has a lot of flair! The combat, the traversal, the quips, the voice acting, the costume design both for Spidey and the baddies, almost everything is superb! The villain's motivations could have been a bit more fleshed out, that's true, but the story is good too!
At points I was left a bit scratching my head why the main villain went all batshit crazy, but I pieced it together eventually. What I don't completely get though is:
*SPOILERS*
Was he evil all along? If you look around the lab and comment on the Raft drawings and "defense contracts", Otto has a reason for them, but he isn't using the intracranial implant yet. So was he planning the breakout before attaching the arms? Was he trying to warn Peter even then that he knows he is Spidey with the newspaper articles about Electro, Fisk, Scorpion, Vulture and Rhino? One thing about this: I LOVED how Otto showed remorse when he threw Pete from the Raft. His face was all torn up with pain for a split second, then he went back to being Doctor Octopus. The relationship between Otto and Pete was really cool, and the Harry twist was awesome as well. I had already finished the research stations and knew something was up with Harry, but didn't expect him to be in that lab when you're playing with MJ.
*END OF SPOILERS*
I really liked the Peter parts as well. This is something that Rocksteady completely ignored with Batman. They never had parts where you are Bruce. True enough, Bruce sees himself as Batman, and Bruce is a mask for him, but still. The Peter parts were a good break from the action, and I loved the puzzles too. They emphasized that he is a scientist! I liked the parts with MJ and Miles too. It showed a different side of the world, where you are two mostly defenseless people that are just trying to help nonetheless!
*MINOR SPOILER*
That ending bit between Miles and Pete was absolute gold! "Not that weird" :D
*END OF SPOILER*
The side activities are an interesting part. I actually really liked them! Sure, you could say that they're repetitive, but each had a story tidbit and different thing to do. Even the backpacks! They had background info that's relatable to the world! Insomniac really have a visible passion for the webhead! I always had tokens for suits and gadgets, because I kept doing side activities since I found them fun. The side quests though were a bit eh, but suitable nonetheless. Yeah, I really liked the game and I can't wait for a sequel! Or rather, the DLCs for now. Also, the world really feels lived in, and the twist in the last act was welcome! The fact that NPCs talk to you in both positive and negative tones is awesome and realistic. I also enjoyed perching on top of the groups of enemies and listening to their conversations.
He said he called in a lot of favors to get back funding and equipment after Norman pulled the plug. All those defense contracts were just ways for him to repay, like making new defense stuff for Raft or sending samples of his work to AIM. If you talk to him he's like, "When we get going again, we'll reconsider our choice of partners." It could be that he was faking it, but then that wouldn't make too much sense. I'd like to think he simply flipped the assets they gave him when the neural interface thing fucked his mind up.
@@proxythefoolThat does indeed seem to be the most plausible scenario. Like on that screen near the raft drawing. Maybe it was an experimental drug, but he turned it into poison for Scorpion.
This game deserved to be in the list for game of the year
for reaal
Never was thinking a spiderman game would be better then spiderman 2 but it came
True
Bryan S Shattered Dimension was better than Spiderman 2 tbh.
Bryan S web of shadows had already beaten it.
@@TheTrailerCREAT0R it didn't have the big leap Spiderman 2 had from Spiderman 1. 2 added open world and so much else and took PS2, xbox and gamecube to its limits
Web of shadows is better than 2
So this is definitely not the first spidey game to top spiderman 2
This game is the best game I've played this year.
Best game I've played this generation.
God of War was that for me but this comes at second place. Let's see how red dead 2 does.
@Matt Dean fallout 76 will be better than red dead redemption
@@cafuune you crazy. Fallout doesn't have a story
but it will have amazing gameplay thats out of this world and beat red dead redemption 2
This will be the first game I ever platinum!
Mr. Mann Same here! Just Platinumed it yesterday.
Mr Grape Soda yep! Done!
I have two games for my ps4 (God of War and Spider-Man) and I have platinum on both! Great games!
PotatisPolisen I've been thinking about getting God of War but just haven't as yet.
Mr Grape Soda it’s great! You should get it!
This did not feel like 45 minutes.
The gadget wheel needs to get rid of the left stick option and just use the right stick. It makes switching between gadgets in quick moments harder since you control spider-man with the left stick. I keep accidentally wasting trip mines and impact webs.
would be fixed in sequel. for a first Spiderman game insomniac did great
@@crashpal or an update
A gadget quick select with the touch pad also would've been cool, but apparently all developers have forgotten about how neat the touchpad can be if used correctly :(
What a fantastic interview told by the guy at the helm of development behind the new just released ps4 spiderman exclusive , emphasising you need passion throughout all involved to push through walls to get to your pinnicale achievement
Hearing Bryan and the rest of his team talking about how much work and love they put into this game is refreshing and very inspiring for me cause I want to be a game developer. This is so much more passionate compared to a dev like Treyarch where if you watch them talk about Black Ops 4 they don’t sound as passionate and putting on a face almost like Activision has a gun pointed at them.
May dying was so sad.. that fade to black
Not to mention the flatline after the fade to black...
The scene with Norman placing his hand on Harry’s tube and what looked like a symbiote enveloping his body made me nerd out so hard. Also Eddie Brock signs peters goodbye card from the bugle so I’m super pumped for their take on the symbiotes
Would you want peter to bring fear, terror, and become brutal in thd black suit to show a example that he changed and is tired of seeing crooks destroy his city but making the sybiote make him more evil and his rage and hate fuel his brutalness and scaryness?
Bryan sure has come up in the world since his EGM/1up days
Genuine dude. Great game. What more can you ask
10:41 i know a lot of people didn't, but I really appreciated the moments you play as MJ and Miles. Especially when you have to evade the Rhino. Suddenly you're powerless. So good.
"Why there is so many backbags?" For me, there is not enough backbags. Not enough of anything. This is so awesome that they could put more and more activities in this game. AND MORE SIDE QUESTS! ALOT!
Why is that one dude with the beard and the watch there? That ass literally said he doesn't like Spider-Man as a character in the last video.
He also said after the game he became a fan
SpiderMan PS4 Insomniac ❤😍
"We didn't want to alienate anybody" CAN WE PLEASE GET MORE CONTENT CREATORS LIKE THIS
7:44-8:14
He basically just explained the Lion king's plot XD
Also Spider-Man was a really great game! You can feel the love and passion that went into the game, I firmly believe more developers should aspire to create games like God of War and Spider-Man and do work that fuels creativity and passion.
who wants co-op stealth missions with miles and Spiderman.
Masterpiece!
it's far from being a masterpiece, the gameplay is amazing but the rest of the game is pretty basic, it's an amazing game but not a masterpiece for sure
Oxycontin in the realm of spider man games where almost every one has been bad, this game is a masterpiece
No. Other games being bad does not automatically make this game better.
Alex George yes but this game is amazing and it’s the first actually good spider man game
Hell yeah , Spiderman > God of war
He seems like such a genuinely great guy, definitely the best person to handle Spider-Man
this game is wonderful but still needs some minor improvements my two big things is way more tricks take some from the comics or other Spiderman games an you need to improve wall crawling an running down a wall an maybe more combos.
Bryans a good guy. Happy to support an awesome game and creative group.
Km gonna guess Yuri lowenthal
So.....i need Spider-Man 2 now from you guys! Great interview btw! cheers from Sweden!
When I was 6 I played Spider-Man on the PlayStation one 3 times in one day. 17 years later I’m enjoying a Spider-Man game like a child. Thanks for reigniting my life Insomniac team
game was pure gold, music score was awesome and overall they didnt shy away from bringing the big villains on screen. hope the dlc lives up to greatness of the main game or the sequal i know will come is just as good
The modelers, sculptors and texture artists have my respect! you deserve a big shout out!
thanks! bryan intihar and insomniac games for developing an instant classic ps 4 spider-man game and hoping for a part 2 version of the green goblin that,s from the comics and hopefully with the sucess of sony,s venom movie in october will help to enhance your version for the spider-man 2 sequel. thanks! to gamespot for their interview.

I want Sunset Overdrive to be released on ps4. Even if its a xbox exclusive.
that should happen first before making Spiderman multiplatform
Its not goof
37:07 I guess whoever edited this video didn't know exactly which part of the demo Bryan was talking about, because it wasn't that part. He was talking about the fight on the roof of the construction side, where the player, or Spider-Man, kicks one of the enemies almost off the roof, but in the last second pulls him in again and throws him to the ground.
true, but the clip used here also demonstrates the same thing; spider-man kicking a dude out a helicopter then saves him from falling to his death :)
@@ecMonify yeah, but this was a scripted scene, so of course Spider-Man saves the guy. Bryan was talking about how during gameplay (actual combat) it can happen that you knock enemies off the roof.
This must have been recorded early in the morning, Mike seems sleeeeeeepyyyy... Anyway that just added to the video, I love the energy and love for the game in this interview, and after an emotional close to the journey last night I have to thank Bryan Intihar and the whole team for this Spider-Man experience
Loved Sunset Overdrive! And Spider Man is just beautiful! So much fun! Congrats to Insomniac on a great game and to all the well deserved praise. I felt like a little kid again watching my favorite superhero and being my favorite superhero!
GOTY. Best game I’ve played in a while

They really put love into making this game and I'm having fun with it! You guys deserve all the praise ur getting
I love this game, its everything you want from a Spider-man game. Watching this, you really feel the passion and love that went into making the game. Really looking forward to their next stuff and DLC in the future
I love this Person so Humble
This man is my hero. I love his passion and knowledge for Spider-Man.
Thank you for making this game. Love it.
Honestly, the story was incredible. I wasn't expecting such an amazing narrative on top of the awesome gameplay. It was a curve ball that really made the game that much better.
He seems like a cool dude. I'd be super stoked if I got a chance to work on anything Spider-Man related too. Hopefully they make a trilogy!
Beat em up genre is back with a bang!! Amazing job Bryan and the team at Insomniac. Not since Ninja Gaiden (XBOX) has combat and traversal been soooo silky smooth and cool. Never ending gameplay sweetness. Plays like a true video game. Pure escapism - thank you!! GOTY. Finally a game comes along to get me to stop playing Uncharted games. I'm now a Spider-Man fan, amen. My play settings: Combat camera off, Follow camera off, Chromatic Aberration off (too disorienting when on), Motion Blur 10, Film Grain 10, Swing Camera Shake 0.
I love how I was only 20% done the story and already wanted a sequel. Now here I am, having finished the game. I need a sequel now 😂! Take your time Insomniac. The two to three years wait for this game was well worth it
I played Spiderman last night they did a good job on it ...im enjoying it
great job! im not even a huge fan of single player games but i bought this cuz im a huge spiderman fan and i have to say i am blown away!! great job! props to insominiac! they are turning into one of my favorites! resistance was my first ever ps3 game back when the console first came out!
The music in this is REALLY good!
The best games are made from and by people like this. He's so humble. It's amazing this game is so so God damn amazing I'm so happy.
Please sit down with Cory Barlog and Bryan Intihar for a talk about being a Creative Director and what it takes to make a critically acclaimed game
2.5 x the sales of God of War (in the UK). The biggest Marvel branded video game in history (in sales).
I was super impressed with the story. Might be my favourite spider-man story in any media adaption.
Insomniac can you please give us the ability to make presets for suit mods and attach them to the left and right DPad. It would be awesome to have an easy way to cycle through your favourite combinations for traversal, stealth, combat, etc.
I'm not the biggest Spider-man fan but I love this game. Its Amazing!
Cant wait for the second game and see what they are going to do for the story
its funny bc i too didnt have or play a ps4 till 3 days b4 spiderman it was the main reason i added too my switch as consoles go, and now i have god of war, last of us, re7,witcher3 and its tough to choose what to start with
Sunset Overdrive is such a great game I hope one day it gets a sequel.
Imagine knowing what we know know I can envision MJ becoming Spider woman and having 3 Spidey characters to switch between as well as Venom potentially in spiderman 3
I could hear Bryan talk all day
It’s a fucking masterpiece. You guys deserve every penny coming your way.
They did a FREAKING AMAZING job with this game
Incredible incredible game . It’s a mixture of Spider-Man 2 and the classic animated series which I grew up on
4:45 that is one FAST helicopter
Wow, I’m so happy for him!
Take a shot for everytime Bryan says "like"
The interviewer on the very left sounds JUST like Topher Grace, which is funny cause he played Eddie Brock
These guys need to make an open universe Guardians of the Galaxy game
Lol it would be no mans sky done right but I dont think current consoles would be powerful enough maybe jsyt give a few planet
This is was of my favorite Spiderman games.
I hope in the sequel you’re allowed to customize his melee fighting style. Like a mix between acrobatic kicks and flips as well as heavy punches.
I've enjoyed the game, the gameplay was perfect and made me feel like I was younger, and also the story got interesting (enjoyable), and i find it worth playing for..
And awesome job Insomniac...
Gamerpro 7219 I didn’t expect to fight the task master.. when you did I felt like a little kid again.. when you’re playing a game & a surprise boss shows up. So bad ass..
Yea, I couldn't believe what other villains were in the game, til i flins out myself...
I hope Marvel will allow them to start including cameos and teamups. I loved the game and story, only negatives are the boss fights were underwhelming and a lot of missions were repetitive. Looking forward to the sequel but no way this should win GOTY over GOW and RDR2 will most likely be great
MSA99 I heard marvel gave the devs freedom to do whatever they want. But I think they keep some of Spidey’s best part for the sequels.
Personally, I hope Gamespot *promotes Playstation & Xbox games* as much as they promote *Nintendo Switch*
Please don't be bias in favour of Nintendo.
at 40:26, there is a punch sound effect... kinda unnecessary comment I know but it intrigues me!
Everybody's talking about the game and gameplay. Will nobody mention how good the story was? I honestly was weirdly emotionally attached to Dr. Otto. I felt really bad for him during the early lab sections. The ending was kinda obvious, but the story arch was amazingly done. I feel for Otto, not for Doc. Oc., but Otto.
Just plat the game , I WANT MORE, hopefully the sequel comes to ps4 or do we have to wait till ps5
Marvel should buy insomniac. Marvel Game Universe. That would be sick as hell to have an Iron Man game or a Thor game
Kawlk MGU!!!!
Nah, I don't want them to interfere with the ratchet and clank series
And here we go lol
One thing this interview was missing, who developed the idea of Spider-Cop?
For anyone who doubted Insomniac...
Have you ever played a ratchet and clank game or Resistance 2?
Incredible games. People were saying they are a B rated studio. Not at all, you just missed out on some amazing AAA games lol...
