I am actually a blind home distiller from Florida. It’s taken me a while to adapt all my distilling equipment for use by a blind individual. What size column are you running in both your reflux and pot still columns? Great video!
At what point do you expose it to air to smooth it our? It looks like are aerating the low wines..?
at 02:33, when you say that you produce 52 cases, do you mean 52 cases of 6 bottles or 52 bottles ? That would help so much as I'm opening a vodka apple distillery soon.. :)
One case = 6 bottles @ 750ml each
is sugar added to apples in the fermenting process?
Yeah more than likely, otherwise it would take many, many more apples to make just one bottle.
This is "Obstbrand"
Matthew McConaugheys grandpa ??? hahaha...
What's with the finger dipping? Gross!!!!!
+Chris Davis you do realize its 190 proof alcohol right?
Yes. Still, kinda gross.
Fish guts in beer?
195 proof kills any bacteria, viruses, unwanted animals, any nasties. Hell, I even have a hard time putting it down! LOL! Yes, I to use the finger tasting method. Otherwise you’ll get blotto very quick!
I think this would be considered an eau de vie, not a vodka. Specifically, it would be an apple jack in the American terminology.
blackspaceneedle Technically you can make Vodka out of Anything. Even in a Pot still if its ran enough times Vodka is just Pure ethanol that has been watered down to 40% ABV I dont understand why they make it into a Vodka though and not just Apple Bandy
