Hello, thanks for the review. I have been unable to find anywhere the type of amplification used. Class A is my assumption given the hefty price tag. Can you advise if it’s A, AB or D? Cheers
This is exactly what I need for my CX800 Control Amp that I bought back in the day. Let's face it, I cannot afford this Amp, but could you direct me to an amp that is similar to what this Yamaha has? I would like to continue using my CX800 and hopefully I find something that have this much power to drive my JBL 590s but of course affordable. I think I might be able to convince the wife on $1500.00. lol! If you could point me to what's available out there that would be great. Thank you for sharing this video.
@@TLPCHC Thanks for your reply. Can you elaborate by how much better? Currently I own Opticon 6 speakers which sound amazing with the amp but I wonder how much better they could sound for extra cost of m5000

Great amp, but you could do better for the same price as far as performance goes, only 0.07 thd, its great, but my 350 dollar onkyo manages that... a bryston 2.5 cubed amp achieves 0.005 for the same price and comes with a 20 year warranty, also has a higher damping factor and better signal to noise specs... Love the amp, love the look, love the brand, even this video, but they could've made it perform a lot better for the money to match its looks... It's looks are killer however.
THD is only a measurement - one of many. I know the Yamaha sounds way better than the Onkyo, and there will be a personal preference for the overall sound too. Yes - The looks are superb.
Hi Andrew. I think you are confused. Thsi si an unboxing channel, so we unbox things. The retail store is called The Listening Post (where you can come in any time and have a listen).

Hi, how well can the M-5000 handle the b&w 803 d4? Can it unleash at least 80% of the 803 d4's ability?

It should control them nicely if Bi-Amp / Bi-Wired

Maybe three, as they bridge Mono
@@TLPCHC My B&W 705s would really like that.
Just wish they would make a 200+w into 8 ohm amp
That is why the amp can be bridged, which will deliver a wopping 400w for those power hungry speakers.

Comparison with As3000? What do you think worth upgrading to?
It is better than the AS-3000. If a turntable is used, and a little more power is required, than I would make the upgrade.

Obviously the pre-power is a step up. But the manufacturing costs are way more for the small gains over the A-S3200
