As a new mom myself, my biggest advice is take your baby on walks as soon as you get home! It really jump started her circadian rhythm and we never had any issues with her days and nights being reversed because she was so exposed to sunlight. We also don’t let her nap in darkness and that helped as well. Sleep is NECESSARY as new parents and just having your baby recognize the difference between night and day makes every other thing that comes with a baby so much easier! Good luck guys! You’re going to be GREAT parents ❤❤
I like to tell you that I've been watching the both of you for a while and I wanted to tell you thank you, back in April I had surgery on my foot lost all my toes on my left foot the only reason I'm telling you your channel has helped me a lot it's helping me relax my mind and help me forget for a minute or two about thinking about my foot so thank you and congratulations on your pregnancy God will protect you I pray for you every night for both of you
That sapling that you didn't know at the start of video is a breadfruit tree - beautiful and yummy if you know how to cook it and dip in freshly squeezed coconut cream (from a real coconut). Plant a tree now and it will be big in 3 to 4 years - its tropical and everything grows fast.
That’s a great plan! Having family or friends that can help with the baby are also soooo important for you guys as parents to get a break. It really does take a village to raise a child
Sounds like such a great plan guys, well done for doing what feels right. Having kids is such a monumentally incredible life shift on every level and we’re excited for you both. We’re renovating a farm into a homestead in northern Portugal with our two little boys (Crusoe who is nearly two, and Sawyer who’s nine weeks old) and we’d love to connect as we share so much in our visions for our children and lives! All the best with the shift to Brighton and sending good vibes and love your way ❤
A better safer collar is called a Martingale Limited Slip small dogs use a 3/8" or 5/8" nylon. Stays loose until you tighten. A chain choke is for best leash training because you are there, My dog died wearing a chain when loose a vine got stuck in links caused it to choke and she was suffocated. I now use the limited slip collar on Rottie's Dobe's to little Italian Grayhounds.
We don't live in an actual tree house, but our house is built partway up a hill, it overlooks a ton of really big old maple trees in the front, and the builder put in a big window facing the ferny forest behind us, so we always say we feel like we're living in a tree house. You can definitely create the vibe of tree house living without actually living in a tree. LOVE that park! That park would have been a dream when I was little, give me a comfy cushion and a good book as a kid and I would have been in heaven.
I'm 66 years old and have always dreamed of living in a treehouse for the same reasons you gave. Tarzan and Swiss Family Robinson treehouses are so cool! Years ago we had an epic 3 level play treehouse built for our daughter. It was great!
I live on the third story of a house and the trees are surrounding all my windows....so it feels like living in the trees ...what a wonderfully warm place! Hope you will be very happy there in the future. Glad you made the decision to live in a more comfortable place with your baby. Glad you are both so flexible and go with the flow of life.
I have always dreamed of having a real tree house. There is a building program on cable in USA where this one guy goes around the states and is hired to build amazing tree houses where ppl honestly live in them.
Im so happy to hear you re moving to Brighton! Im a mama living here too and i can tell you i feel so blessed to have such a lovely community since i first moved here and found out i was pregnant! it was easier than other communities i imagine because of how open and diverse it is. Be prepared for cold and sadly a lot of Brighton properties are pretty damp so as attractove the old character properties with fireplace might be, you might want to be open to consider also some of the new builts that are nice and warm and will guarantee more safety and security. I had to move out of one and im now finding myself really missing what they provided us with! even though i do have a garden we can enjoy. Its a tough trade! Either way i know you guys will make it a success!! exciting! xx
So depending on how big Callie is, toddler sweatshirts are awesome and sometimes cheaper than dog sweaters. Just cut or roll up the cuffs. So excited to see your adventures in the UK!
Speaking of friends with babies, will be very cool if you were able to spend more time with the Travel Beans once in Brighton (can’t remember where they are), maybe share a lot of new mom/parent experiences with them….maybe create a video about it??? I don’t know…😊
In terms of building a treehouse you should first check with arquitects and engineers. Remember, trees keep growing hence your house over the years will get compromise in unpredictable ways. So, maybe you can incorporate a tree into your design but building a house on a tree might not be the best.
I love this plan for many reasons but mostly Louie's point...British children with their accents are ADORABLE! Haha! Can't wait to watch this all unfold for you all!
It´s nice to hear that you are flexible; a lot of things will change once the baby is born. I am from south America and I live in Europe, the many kilometers away from my family never had the weight it has now once I have a child. My mom's heart cheers for you guys to find a good life in Europe with an I don´t know B&B in Costa Rica? I feel that is so important to be around grandparents, but maybe I am just old school and you guys will find an amazing way to do this while pursuing your dream.
I am so happy you guys will be spending the most precious period of your lives in UK 💕 It was so wonderful how you documented the beauty of the UK this summer with your roadtrip. I promise theres beauty to be found in the winter too 😅
Wow, how awesome to finally see what your next plans are! Love the idea of living in the UK during Summer and back to Costa Rica when the weather is better! Also loved to see Cali and the plans of taking her to the UK, I'm sure she is going to have the best life ever (and also, how amazing for your baby to grow up with a dog!). All the best, guys, we are here following you and wishing you all the best :)
So happy for you and all your new adventures with the baby, the UK, and building your future in Costa Rica. I look forward to your ongoing journey and wish you love, happiness and close warm community along the way.
It's great to hear more about your plans and how flexible you both are in life. I think the baby being born in the UK makes sense with the NHS and generally cheaper private health care. Couldn't help but laugh when hearing Louis say he wants your boy to have an english accent, I had not thought about that before, but I could imagine it would be weird to have a child that sounds nothing like yours haha
I love to hear that you're going to be gardening! If you need any tips, the Roots and Refuge channel on RUclips has been really inspiring for me. Congratulations on your decision and your expanding family! I'm really happy for you three.
Very exciting, I lived in Brighton for 3 years when I went to Sussex Uni, it’ll be lovely for you to spend some time there while the Costa Rican dream percolates ☺️
Would love to see a video on the visa process for you all to the UK. Being an American who is planning to marry a British person, it seems a bit difficult to navigate and would love to see what options you two have and what the process is like.
I know Raya also had Bulgarian citizenship, it would have been easy back with the UK was in the EU since you could easily live anywhere... but I think the process of moving to the UK with an EU citizenship is still easier (especially because she is married to a UK citizen)
@@sarahleible6575 even being married, it’s still a hard process and you can’t just move to the UK and then apply for residence even if you are married to a citizen sadly. This is a problem my partner and I are currently dealing with, we’re lucky enough to also be travelers, but will need to leave the country to get married, then apply for my residence before we can come back in legally to live and not just on tourism for the 6 month allowance.
How cool is it that you both have so many amazing opportunities to find the best community for you and your family! I can't wait to watch this next chapter grow for you guys as you settle in and wait for the arrival of baby!
YES IVE ALWAYS LOVED TREEHOUSES TOO AND IVE ALWAYS DREAMED OF LIVING IN A TREEHOUSE WITH ROPE WALKWAYS BETWEEN THEM JUST LIKE ALEGRIA IS BUILDING! Y’all are so extremely lucky to be able to live in a place like that. ❤❤❤❤
I love the house that your neighbor built (or partly built) already. That is awesome. Can't wait to see all that the future holds for you four, so far.
I found your channel through Eamon and Bec and Kara and Nate. Love your bus, the land is beautiful. Look forward to goi g back and watching all the videos up until now. Happy Holidays!!
Of course, tree houses are great. Keep an eye out for an almond tree such as the ones that grow in the Bahamas. They regularly out out 4/5 branches in different directions every 3-4 feet so it's easy to make a hexagonal floor at the same level. Hearing a little bit of reggae was great. It helped me imagine living there too. Reggae and Ethiopian Archives, founded 1980
Welcome back to the UK! We are a family of 3 who travel with our toddler. We are moving back to the UK in July (back to London) so we hope to see more of your adventures into parent hood in our home!
So so excited for you guys. Sounds like a fantastic life balance whilst balancing a new baby. We built our own place in Margaret River Western Australia when I was pregnant and moved in to a half built home when our girl was four weeks old. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. She’s 26 now but wish I had been more settled whilst trying to navigate being a new mum. Finally awesome to see Cali again she looks so happy to be back with you. Much love leisa xx
I admire your ability to stay positive under the circumstances. Poor Mads, I hope she didn’t feel sick for too long. Fingers crossed about the drone. The hot springs look amazing I could use that right now as temperatures are below freezing where I am in New Mexico! Thanks for another fun video. I’m looking forward to the next installment! ❤
Yessss I have a literal reoccurring dream since I was young about escaping into a treehouse. My heart belongs in the trees 🥰 love seeing all the progress ❣️
Kinda out-of-the-box, but have you considered transplanting a fully grown tree into your yard? It's possible that you could acquire a tree from a neighbor who needs to remove it to build their house. The biggest expense would be renting heavy equipment for the transport. Might be a quick path to a tree house that sidesteps the ten-year wait.
Brighton is great place for children to grow-up, I know I grew up there, I had a wonderful childhood. Gatwick airport is not far away, horrible day just take a plane to a sunnier place. Why not locate in mid-Sussex, nice village feel and quick drive up to London if needed.
So happy you two have chosen England to live again while the baby is born. Just wonderful. And Louis, I'm sure you wonderful Mum (who I've watched so many of her vlogs) will be so happy. I'm happy for her too.
You should check out the One Planet Council in Wales! Check out how they are in harmony with the land/ so more building ideas! *Also, we flew our dog from the US to mainland EU and took a ferry to Ireland to avoid quarantining. Otherwise you can go the emotional support animal route* just know it is very possible for Kelly:)
Congratulations to you both. You are so full of vim and vigor and ideas and plans. So exciting to be young and facing so many new and wonderful experiences and adventures.
I would love to live in a tree house, as long as it is an actual treehouse, with a living tree as the main structure holding it up. Some places call themselves a treehouse bc its a house on stilts in the forest- that is NOT a tree house.
Raya and Louis! That’s awesome news! My wife and I are having our first child in April so completely feel where you’re coming from. We’re just down the road, so if you’d ever like a tour of Hastings, please let us know 😊 Good luck with your move, sending love and best wishes to you all x
Two quick suggestion. 1 A White House on orange soil. You would not believe how high soil rain drops. 2. The is a RUclipsr Acre Homestead. She is amazing from cooking, preserving food, growing food, raising chickens and about to have her first baby.
Totally feel ya on the not the US with the broken health care system. The system sucks. And that's coming from a US citizen born and raised. I know other countries have issues with their systems but the amount of debt you can get into in the US just for needing to go to the hospital (and for those who know, yes, it was a hospital in-network) and have an organ taken out is absurd. Especially since (in my experience) I (and my employer) pay into it. Thousands of dollars a year for coverage but here's another $2,000.00 the hospital wants for taking your gallbladder out. But I digress...awesome to hear you'll be planting roots in the UK with the support system you're looking for before relocating to Costa Rica. It sounds like an awesome lifetime ahead for you all!
Yes, it is important to find a community that supports raising a child. Great decision guys! Looking forward to your vlogs when the baby comes. All the best
So happy for you guys! I lived in Brighton for a year doing my MSc and I always thought to myself what a great place it is to raise kids! 🫶🏻 can’t wait to follow your journey!😊
So much to look forward to! Very exciting adventures await! Great decision to be in a well supported city with lots of community, amenities, heath care options etc. Cali will get used to it! So enjoy your energy and light! ❤️
Super excited for your next chapter and to see what you get up to in the UK / Europe! We’re near Southampton just down the road and have our own van, will be great to see what you find on our doorstep 🤩
What do you guys doing for work? I seen on another vlog where you guys were prepping a home before your baby is to arrive that you guys said you both work from home. What do you do?
Oh course the NHS would be a big part of your decision, I hope you can try and use your influence to help people realise how important it is to keep the NHS . Our free healthcare is the best thing about this country ,so many people don't realise how much healthcare costs in other countries.
@@bethmcmullan7686 interesting, I am a UK resident , I was under the impression that if they have a residence here , and are paying tax then she would be entitled to free medical care the same as any other UK resident . But I'm not up to date on that . And to be fair if they are paying tax etc they should be entitled, I was not critical of them , I just wanted them to use the platform to point out how blinking lucky we are here in the UK and what an amazing thing the NHS is .
Yayyyy! Amazing guys 😍 Super happy for you both. The land in Costa Rica is really coming together & those tree houses are epic! 🌳 what a beautiful life your family are going to have. When we are back in the UK after our Europe trip in the van we could come see you in Brighton 🚍😍
Lovely to see you both so happy for future plans :) I am a Canadian living in the UK with my husband ( British) and I had to get a spouse visa to stay here longer than 6 months. I believe you will have to do the same? I’m sure you have already looked into it, but I thought I would put it out there that the UK is quite strict on visa regulations in order to stay longer term, even when you are married! I am looking forward to following you both in your new UK adventure :)
So excited for you guys! A great move to the UK for the family. And you definitely have to take your doggo! Can’t wait to see your new place in England
So excited to come visit you four in Brighton!!! Thanks for showing us around our future home 😀 Love y'all!
Yess can’t wait! 😜❤️
Loved your videos with Zoe and Alfie in the past! I can’t wait to see Ottilie with baby boy. And Cali and Nala!

Agree ❤

Thanks Nadine! Definitely feel that ❤️ so grateful that we’ll have support. And hopefully you can all stop by on your year of travels!

Wow amazing!! Thank you Kaitlin ❤️

Yes, it is important to find a community that supports raising a child. Great decision guys! Looking forward to your vlogs when the baby comes. All the best
That community pot luck looks so nice! Great community atmosphere.
Sounds like your new plans will be perfect. All the best for the move to Brighton.
So happy for you guys! I lived in Brighton for a year doing my MSc and I always thought to myself what a great place it is to raise kids! 🫶🏻 can’t wait to follow your journey!😊
So amazing! Omg I love those tree houses! My dream is also a tree house like George of the jungle style or Swiss family Robinson 😍😍😍
You could Build a house on stilts - you’ll be up in the tree line / tree house vibe and away from flooding water…
I’ve thought of your little dog. Is he doing well? ❤️ wow I wrote this before I started your video! I’ve so missed your cute doggie and here she is😍
So much to look forward to!

@@bethmcmullan7686 why would it not be free for her ?
@@bethmcmullan7686 interesting, I am a UK resident , I was under the impression that if they have a residence here , and are paying tax then she would be entitled to free medical care the same as any other UK resident . But I'm not up to date on that . And to be fair if they are paying tax etc they should be entitled, I was not critical of them , I just wanted them to use the platform to point out how blinking lucky we are here in the UK and what an amazing thing the NHS is .
I think having some family and support will be good for you both at this time it is a big life change 👍
Brighton sounds like a much nicer idea. Much better craic!!! Also Nick Cave lives there right???
Good luck on your new venture, remember warm clothes it gets cold in the winter
Maybe you guys could rent one of Alfie or Zoe's properties? It's nice to have a landlord that you can trust and cares about you. 😊
Smart move!! the world is your oyster!! And winter in the UK is not too brutal...
Jackfruit is amazing in vegan pulled jackfruit bbq burgers with coleslaw 🤩
Super awesome news! Excited for you both ✨ Aloha 🌴
I can't wait to follow your journey... Good luck and safe travels..
Thanks Nicole! Yes we’ve looked into all the options ☺️
I am so happy for you. Good luck in your new chapter and if you are looking for Bulgarian friends in UK, I live 40 min away of Brighton 😅❤
So excited for you guys! A great move to the UK for the family. And you definitely have to take your doggo! Can’t wait to see your new place in England
Brighton is amazig even in the winter it will be very good wish you all the best 😊
