" Wear color, you're on vacation, not on a job interview" LOL! Love it! You should make up T-shirts with that saying on it. But, it's true. I've been going to Paris regularly since the summer of 1976 when I was university age. I'm one who wears color here at home and will continue to wear color wherever I go out there in the big world and I've traveled all over the world. In my profession, wearing color to a job interview isn't even strange. I'm very eclectic and one day it might be color, pattens, floral, etc and the next it might be a khaki tan vibe or black if I'm on one of my Issey Miyake/Yohji Yamamoto moods. I've never been one placed in tiny a fashion/styling box. My thing is to just look old school pulled together and presentable and never sloppy. As for the scammers, they're a pain. But, wherever one goes, one just needs to be cautious. Street smarts come in handy. Greetings from Los Angeles
Hahaha - a tshirt is a great idea!! I love that your style is eclectic too. My view is that we only get one life - let's just be bold and colorful and who cares what anyone else thinks. That was the hardest part of being in a law firm - not being able to fully express myself.
You are spot on about the dresses. On my trip to Paris I wished I’d bought a dress or skirt so my hubby suggested I just buy one. We marched over to Monoprix and I picked out a floral midi dress that’s been my go-to dress for the past two years. 🙂
Those Monoprix floral dresses are amazing! I grab at least one every season. But dresses are the most comfortable for a Paris summer I’ve found. One and done.
Omg you and juju are too funny . I am canadian mixed lady and my husband is from France, so I really love seeing other couples like us ! No one gets the struggle unless they are in the same situation 😂.
Love your videos and excited to find a woman of color sharing Parisian style. Funny I found you after I already visited but I'm manifesting a return. The fashion tips I did find worked. I fit in pretty well or at least didn't stand out as a typical tourist in early April.
Thank you I’ll be in Paris the first week of August I didn’t want to come doing the Olympics but my husband surprised me with this trip for my 65th birthday I pray we have an amazing experience it’s our first time❤
@@luvinlvbags4636 Well, it all depends on where you’re staying in that area. However, I would say overall that I find it to be okay during the day but unless I was going to something at Stade de France, I wouldn’t be up there at night. And my saying it’s okay during the day is based on the fact that I’m generally not too concerned about the random guys on the corner during the day but at night I don’t want to be bothered with that.
I havent finished the video yet, but! I wondered if you could someday do a plus size frenchie video? I’d love to know what midsize or plus size women are wearing (if it’s any different)
Hmm, I wouldn't say it's any different. I will say this, this is a city where women are forced to be slim (I'll be doing a video on that in a couple weeks). However, I'll do some exploration for you and put something together. Perhaps a Paris weekly focused on visiting/finding plus size fashion in Paris.
I think the culture is different there regarding weight, health, mindset. Even the plates they eat off of are smaller than American dinner plates. My husband spent years there during university time and he said excessive weight gain is neither encouraged nor admired. I wish this wasn’t glorified here as much because it’s simply deteriorating our lives and pharmaceutical companies are benefiting off of our illnesses that excessive weight contributes to. Just a different culture than Americans…
Yes plz do a video about “plus size” women there in Paris. Its strange how here in the states there are stores which cater to fat women. Excess weight is not healthy but I know Ive struggled with my weight after menopause and children. Here its no big deal. Buy 3 sizes bigger at Walmart!!!! Should not be like this, sad but true. Id love to hear about it plz. Merci from California. Ps: my mother told me years ago when she had us kids, her Dr insisted she gain no more than 25 pounds when pregnant and was put on a strict diet post babies. With the advent of TV dinners and fast food, generations have gotten obese! Then much more disease too. Both my parents lived past 95!
I'm one of those coming to Paris for the Olympics. Je suis désolé Juju! I am on the fence about sandals since Paris isn't the cleanest (I have been to Paris before) but there is a chance for a heat wave. Your examples are super cute.
I'll be doing a video on information for the Olympics in the next week. I'm just finishing it up this week. However, I wear the sandals (mainly wedges) and I also wash my feet when I'm inside. Also, sometimes I will clean them outside at the water fountain (an actual fountain that dispenses water for the feet not just me sticking my feet in a drinking fountain or a fountain fountain haha).
Would you mind creating a video for autumn as well? My husband and I have a holiday in mid-September to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but I don't know what to pack as I'm unsure of the weather at that time.
Adriel. Thank you for the video. I'll be in Paris ( my 1st time!) from 5/23-5/28. Are there any fashion-related exhibits I should add to my must-see list?
Sooo many. There are two great exhibitions right now at the Museum of Arts & Décoratifs. Two exhibitions at the Musee de la Mode (one upstairs and the other downstairs). Alaia foundation exhibition and the YSL museum exhibition.
@@adrielfelise I will be visiting in a few weeks (1st visit), do you think I will still be OK to wear my light weight trench during the day or should I bring something lighter? Thank you.
Love the dresses! Your so cute if I looked like you I’d wear all of them ! What about older ladies what are they wearing? That yellow outfit is gorgeous on you .❤️🇨🇦 what about wedding and engagement rings surely French locals wear theirs ?
Well, this may surprise you a bit, but if you go look at my Sezane haul video - that short white dress with the long sleeves is a style I see the older French women rocking all the time. The older French ladies are mainly rocking the above the knee or midi dresses during the summer. I don't see a lot of older women in maxi dresses, which I think is due to just the tripping risk in the metro and bus etc. They also will wear pants or jeans, but generally, Paris is so darn hot people switch to dresses or skirt quite quickly.
Great fashion tips as usual. Hahaha I love that JuJu is a regular French guy doing regular French guy stuff. Maybe have him do an OOTD during those months because he's clearly not into the YT stuff. I like that👍He did look very comfortable entertaining IRL @ your dinner party. GREAT COUPLE 💑☯💘 + furbaby

I know that thong style sandals are not Parisian, but how about the Birkenstock Gizeh style (thong shape straps)? Does that pass because it’s Birkenstock brand?
I live in France and been to Paris. I wore a comfy loose dress and cardi, and sandals. I wlaked miles so I advise being comfortable and sensible, my feet got very sore, take plasters. Wear what you want, it’s Paris, people wear all sorts.
Wear whatever you want to. People wear all sort, I live in France and been to Paris. Don’t be slovenly eg don’t wear tracksuits etc, don’t wear awful flagged clothes, otherwise anything goes.
It depends upon the weather, but I would say, yes, people are still wearing their dresses in September. I did a video on the fall last year that might help you.
Haha. Well I only notice it when it’s really obvious and I would say that it’s more so cup size that determines it. I would say A & B cups go braless the most. But I’ve definitely seen C cups go braless too. I mean if it’s comfortable for you, just do it. Here no one will judge.

Having a hard sole and padding in footware is SO important when walking on cobblestone streets! I learned this the hard way in Amsterdam.
Oh my, yes it is. I learned that my first week in Paris!
Amazing video, details, a life saver for sure!
The yellow dress was actually awesome 😎
Love your videos ❤❤❤. Will you please do a video on your headband collection, and fav headband brands? And hair accessories? Thanks! ⭐️⭐️🌸🌸

Do teens wear denim shorts? I’ll be going to France in late June through early July.
Not really; shorts just aren't that common in Paris amongst anyone over the age of 12 really.
Omg I love you guys ♥️. Thank you for the great fashion advice ♥️
You're welcome!
you and juju are so warmly cute and so is kitty. i smiled a lot
I’m glad you enjoyed.
When DH and I visited Paris last June, we noticed a lot of the men wore Carhart. Also, a lot of men wore shirts with the roll tan sleeves folded up.
The men certainly love the cathart here AND the NY Yankees baseball caps. Even though they don’t know that the NY Yankees are a baseball team.
That was fun! You, Juju and Mister Smaug make quite a team! Hopefully you’ll do more collabs together again soon.😊
Trying to translate what juju says is almost impossible for both me and the translator. Haha.
