1000 horse powers is insane. Image 1000 horses that pull one car. We can be very glad that the rich people want to buy an electric car, and keep the air cleaner for all of us. I think at this stage it should be socially-obligatory for the rich people to buy electric cars, because they can afford the price and can show some respect to mother nature in that way.
Glad to see more entries in the in the EV market. I hope it is all sorted out when it comes to market. I have had the Model 3 for almost 3 months with no issues/problems.
This isn't a tesla killer. This is actually great news for the EV market. Competition is great for the free market. It will breed great cars and better products for the consumers.
Looks okay, but I'm very glad there's already plenty of EVs around. More to come as well. We can thank Tesla for that. The competition will spawn some awesome EVs in terms of style and function.
They say the FORD TAURUS won't be available in the USA for awhile. This car looks like the Next Generation FORD TAURUS that should have come to the USA. GO figure; the last generation TAURUS has an AWESOME EXTERIOR SHAPE and a very high end looking INTERIOR.
It's a Mercedes derived steering setup used on the Lucid, and can be seen by the shifter lever on the column. Chrysler uses the old Mercedes steering setup from the old Mercedes E-class platform, along with some of the electronics, so I'm not surprised they chose that steering wheel for the prototype since it's a direct fit. For whatever reason, Tesla and Lucid share these parts from Mercedes, with only Tesla having parts that are a little more noticeably Mercedes(window switches being the easiest to spot).
Kyle Hershey Well Mercedes did own Chysler a while back. Just like the previous Chysler 300M had S class Chassis. Another Model was the Chysler Crossfire or the Mercedes SLK. How we have Fiat owned Chysler with Fearri designed drivetrains in some small model Dodge and Chysler models.
dontex7 ,Tesla should, and for that matter any cars costing more than 50 grand should. It's a joke that when you pay so much the space is still so cramped. It does not really cost that more material wise.
Lucid Motors is going to have to convince Tesla owners like myself on why we should drop what looks like another $150k-180k on another Tesla wannabe. What life-changing, mind-altering feature(s) does this Air EV offer that I would absolutely need? One thousand horsepower? I live and work in southern California. What am I going to use 1,000 hp for? Getting to the next traffic light as soon as possible? Barreling down the 405 freeway in bumper-to-bumper traffic? I don't see myself bringing the car to a track just to use the 1,000 hp either. What I would like is reliability, support from the manufacturer, fast and widely-available charging, and a bigger battery. So far, Tesla has greatly impressed me with their support and Supercharger network in the 4 years I have owned my Tesla. The battery could be bigger, but that would just mean the car would be pricier. Your move, Lucid Motors and Faraday Future. Impress me
It's an awesome looking car! Should have rear-wheel covers though, for better aerodynamics. Same for Tesla, those can increase highway range up to 15%.
Alec Frances Super Luxury coach makers should have been looking at 🔌 *Electrification* ⚡🔋long ago.. Why won't *Tesla* get in on this? I believe *Maybach, Porsche, Rolls Royce and Bentley* are all looking at doing something like this.. *Aston Martin* is working with *LeEco Faraday Future* on one RapidE 1000B|HP|S aswell..
or Aptera. Problem is that Corporate types take over these visionary companies, milk them for cash and send them into bankruptcy. Let's hope Lucid is more like Tesla than Faraday Failure!
Tod 1 easy answer is tesla is first and foremost a battery maker, Not an auto company. if you don't believe me, tweet Elon musk and you might receive an answer from Tony stark himself lol
Range? Charge time? I just can't find a replacement for my double vanos V8. I would not mind to. Its becoming a classic but it just makes me feel so good. I call my Bimmer; The Therapist.
That camo look ROCKS! I wonder what the upcharge is..... If this starts at $52k, and can be delived in 2019, it's going to kill both MS and M3 sales! Forghettabout the Euro marques powered by (choke, choke) oh so 20th Century dinogas.
Sure, the seating space may be roomy and comfy, but can you do a grocery run in one trip with the seats filled with people? They didn't talk at all about having storage space. I'd assume it has a frunk (front trunk) like the Tesla, but I wonder if there is reduced storage to accommodate a larger battery pack to get that 400-mile+ range.
I appreciate all these companies making super luxury electric cars. At some point can u also focus on affordable practical cars that are 15 to 20 grand?
Nice, great work Lucid, keep them coming. It will be great to have many good EV options apart from Tesla. Interior I agree very scandinavian like feel. Nice.
Hmm, Where have I seen sections of the Lucid Air Interior? So Many parts of their interior space are reminiscent of concept cars shown by Volvo, Mercedes Benz, and BMW ( the Rear Occupant Screen, The On Dash Screen etc.
Why is it that every new electric car company only speaks about speed when the biggest concern consumer have when looking to owning a full electric car is distance?
That can't work. Cars shift gears, electric cars don't, imagine knowing that you are driving an electric car and you hear pops and crackles at the back lmao
Lucid has a long way to go before they can even come close to Tesla. The main difference is the reason Tesla was made in the first place. It was built for the right reasons and has become much more than a car company.
I"d be happy just to have a driverless electric pod pull up to my home and take me to my destination. No big electric bill, no maintenance bill, no insurance bill. Just a contract with a transportation provider.
Beautiful car. I hope they keep their cash burn rate very low. Lots of uphill battle, and don't rely on big companies to bail you out. Just grow slow and keep cash burn rate very low.
It's always great to see another electric car to pop out. I believe we can thank to Tesla for that. Design wise this is not my cup of cofee, I prefer the model S. Tesla could improove on their interiors, thats right, but do not forget that this is a protoype. Lets see what the price will be and the final product quality, because htat's what matters.

Looks great, but I think there should be more electric cars, you know that people COULD actually buy, they will be affordable
To all the whiners: Affordable EV's are everywhere. You can buy 2nd-hand Leaf or MiEV for less than $7,000 easily, and it will still have at least 70 miles range, which is more than enough for the average 20-mile commute and 10 miles of errands, groceries, etc.
This is what Fiat should do to the Lancia brand to save it.... turn it into an independent run tech startup type company outside the Fiat bureaucratic structure
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I think this looks like a ford fusion on 22 in wheels. Not to mention the gaps between the body panels are insanely distracting. They are all I can see.
nah i dont think so. There's no guarantee that they'll deliver the exact same car due to regulations, the panel gaps are horrendous and the acceleration time could be inaccurate because that test model didn't have anything inside to hold weight unlike a normal Tesla (seats, dash, infotainment)
This car has been around tbh. I don't remember much but I remember hearing about lucid when I was a kid before tesla ever camed out and they made an artificial alien sound. Or am I mistaken this for another company??
3 years later and the lucid air is still just a dream .......
hehe
I'm almost more impressed by that house! Stunning!
slum
We pre ordered it- I tend on the 100k version love the vid
Why not just wait for the release, see how it works and the quality of it before actually buying it.
When are you guys getting one? I’m considering pre buying it, but will wait for the good news.
1000 HP and ALL THE TORQUE of Electric! Fantastic, I hope they start producing it soon, as I will be wanting to buy a used one in about 5 years!
Glad to see more entries in the in the EV market. I hope it is all sorted out when it comes to market. I have had the Model 3 for almost 3 months with no issues/problems.
Years ago I knew that cars would someday look like this, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. This is a car of the early 2020s, people. Not of now.
This isn't a tesla killer. This is actually great news for the EV market. Competition is great for the free market. It will breed great cars and better products for the consumers.
This video sounds a lot like Android Authority,...hmm....
Donovan it's Joshua Vergara, former staff of Android Authority, but, I guess you already know that.
M. Arbah Binamin yea, I know. Lol. 😂
What, did Josh leave AA?
Minh Pham idek, I just found out about this channel today. Idk if now he also has a second channel now,..or if he totally left Android Authority.
Donovan no he didn't, this is android authority sister channel. ( like sound guys, tab times and vr source also their sister channels)
Looks okay, but I'm very glad there's already plenty of EVs around. More to come as well. We can thank Tesla for that. The competition will spawn some awesome EVs in terms of style and function.
Alkaiser I can't wait for Porsche to get on board and drop at least 2 maybe 3 brand new EV cars and EV optional current cars.
Porsche makes high-end racing cars. The only electric engines they'll be making will be for hybrid combustion+electric cars
Magnificent vehicle. The only gripe I would have as a rear seat passenger is the armrest space
Subscribed as soon as I heard Joshua speaking.
It looks like RoboCop's head.
I'm a huge tesla fan and also very impressed with this beast. Great job. Should be an amazing range of cars to choose from in the next couple years.
They say the FORD TAURUS won't be available in the USA for awhile. This car looks like the Next Generation FORD TAURUS that should have come to the USA. GO figure; the last generation TAURUS has an AWESOME EXTERIOR SHAPE and a very high end looking INTERIOR.
It's here, it's awesome and there exists no factory to build it.
Did anyone else else notice the Challenger/Hellcat steering wheel in the prototype??
ags920 Yes it a SRT steering wheel😃👍
It's a Mercedes derived steering setup used on the Lucid, and can be seen by the shifter lever on the column. Jason Buis more like Alfa Romeo than Ferari
Sharp eyes to see the steering wheel, Tesla uses the M-B steering wheel, BTW
Awesome all around😃👍 Tesla needs to take notes on the interior
dontex7 ,Tesla should, and for that matter any cars costing more than 50 grand should. It's a joke that when you pay so much the space is still so cramped. It does not really cost that more material wise.
You know, I can't go anywhere without seeing at least one Tesla. Have never seen or even heard of Lucid Air. Maybe someday!
They aren't going to be shipping until 2018. Did you not listen to the video?
Even 2018 is very optimistic, don't you get it?
I think the front looks horrible compared to the rest of the car.
Great to see. Like the sounds in this video.
1000 hp. Man, that's one hella of a car!
By far my favourite EV company this generation. They are doing each step soo damn right. I doubt they will be of the few who will go bust.
Neojhun A
We should use these cars as luxury taxi's. I mean, who wouldn't love luxury plus experience the thrill of that violent acceleration
This thing looks fantastic.
Lucid is an innovatable designed and has performance emmerging electric car in the world. I think it can be a strong compititor of Teslar soon.
ThisCompany has so much more of a better chance than that other electric car company has
They should just have one big curved display at the front instead of 3 tablet-like displays.
Peace… Shalom… Salam... Namaste and Thank You for All that you are doing to Heal our Mother Earth 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ 🌷 ☮️❤️
Revolutionary vaporware
Thanks Tesla , for starting this trend and new wave of cars
Did anyone else notice the Dodge steering wheel in the 2nd prototype? They just blacked out the Dodge logo lol. Cool car overall!
Lucid Motors is going to have to convince Tesla owners like myself on why we should drop what looks like another $150k-180k on another Tesla wannabe. this is THE most beautiful car ever
VALLEY And when I finally win the Powerball lottery, I will buy one.
I love Tesla and all but I think competition is the best. It makes any company strive to be the best in the EV market to get our sales.
It's an awesome looking car! Should have rear-wheel covers though, for better aerodynamics. Same for Tesla, those can increase highway range up to 15%.
rich people must have the best lives
Faith and love are free..lol
Yes we do!!!
I love the exterior and interior looks of the car 😍, but it looks too futuristic for me. I'd take the Tesla.
The interior blows Tesla away, though that isn't really saying much lol!
did you guys get a chance to test the averiada at 100% or anything higher than what the video showed?
Well hopefully this company won't be another Faraday Future.
Alec Frances Super Luxury coach makers should have been looking at 🔌 *Electrification* ⚡🔋long ago..

RubiconKyle still laughing at FFs event last year
Me too!
The dislikes are from the Tesla Owners
Most of that won't make production, but good luck lucid, I'm excited to see what you create.
Range? Charge time? I just can't find a replacement for my double vanos V8. I would not mind to. Its becoming a classic but it just makes me feel so good. I call my Bimmer; The Therapist.
Those gaps between panels... Jesus my eyes hurt.
1:05 cute, and written with proper decimal degrees.
That camo look ROCKS! I wonder what the upcharge is.....

hey man congrats on your new channel 👍 i'll subscribe right now
This video is now 4 years old. Lucid will take 4 1/2 Years to bring Lucid Air to market. I wonder what were the setbacks? $170,000 Lucid Air.
Sure, the seating space may be roomy and comfy, but can you do a grocery run in one trip with the seats filled with people? They didn't talk at all about having storage space. How long will it take to fully charged
This coming from a Tesla fan boy, I'm excited for this car.
Coming after watching an Android Authority video, had to rewind the video when I heard Joshua Vergara. I thought I had too much of MWC!
making half assed 1 car is one thing, making a production line and thousands of cars is another.
Anyone know how the doors in the console open? Looks like 2 of the doors wouldn’t open when the centre stack screen is deployed?
How far can it travel on one full charge ? How long to fully charge from flat ?
The voice is Joshua Vergara from Android authority
TechPimp he isn't working them anymore?
i just saw a new video of his on Android Authority.
Adrian Vega mine he's not exclusive
he literally said his name at the beginning, good going lol
And the face as well, when you can see him step into the car (^_^)!
Nice, great work Lucid, keep them coming. It will be great to have many good EV options apart from Tesla. Interior I agree very scandinavian like feel. Nice.
that inside looks so sick
looks beautiful to be honest but i'd love to know the distance it has before needing to be recharged & its battery technology compared to tesla.
I like how the driving prototype has a steering wheel from an SRT product...
How comes the headlights are so small??
Hmm, Where have I seen sections of the Lucid Air Interior? So Many parts of their interior space are reminiscent of concept cars shown by Volvo, Mercedes Benz, and BMW ( the Rear Occupant Screen, The On Dash Screen etc.
Very very nice. Nice to see Tesla getting some decent competition.
Why is it that every new electric car company only speaks about speed when the biggest concern consumer have when looking to owning a full electric car is distance?
What's the name of the beat you played whilst cruising the prototype
just throw the spectacles away, it's ridiculously stupid.
NO check out faradays future
Vojtěch Hodek Yea I agree it was really annoying
Elijah Dobson You're right.
yeah trolls!
Calm down. So you don't like it, no need to be brash.
Hey man, I love your videos !!!!! great stuff.. what software do you use to create that intro the first 15 seconds.
This is a great car and it's not like the Faraday Future, but I would still buy a Tesla.Nice design for the Lucid
Great video. Thank you.
I think I'm going to invent a app to make muscle car noises for electric cars.
Antonio D Kia is doing that with their new Stinger through the speakers.
That can't work. Cars shift gears, electric cars don't, imagine knowing that you are driving an electric car and you hear pops and crackles at the back lmao
@@nicholaslee5473 yes but they can use an algorithm that takes into account speed and throttle percentage used to decide on what noise to output
why is it called lucid air? just a name of the the model or it actually also runs on air?
Nice! It looks like Airbus A350
Lucid has a long way to go before they can even come close to Tesla. The main difference is the reason Tesla was made in the first place. It was built for the right reasons and has become much more than a car company.
Much better than Faraday Future...
ezar howard yes especially because Lucid can actually make production units.
UltraGoldCoin and Faraday Future is dead
Was gonna buy an old peugeot 405 for 400 euros... But this video has changed my mind...
are many lucid car will be available please
I"d be happy just to have a driverless electric pod pull up to my home and take me to my destination. No big electric bill, no maintenance bill, no insurance bill. Just a contract with a transportation provider.

Michał Drewienkowski There are PLENTY of used EVs for under $8k. Check it out on craigslist or cars, com.
I hope the bring this to Europe
Whats up with the wiring hanging down under the dash ???????????
i love his style, very nice

how far can it go on single charge?
Looks way better than any Tesla. Could be a real competitor
shockwave1xD I disagree.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I think this looks like a ford fusion on 22 in wheels. Not to mention the gaps between the body panels are insanely distracting. They are all I can see.
shockwave1xD I just don't like the front end of the car. I don't think things we saw in this interior will be the final product when it comes out.
nah i dont think so. There's no guarantee that they'll deliver the exact same car due to regulations, the panel gaps are horrendous and the acceleration time could be inaccurate because that test model didn't have anything inside to hold weight unlike a normal Tesla (seats, dash, infotainment)
shockwave1xD naw it's kinda ugly
The model S is a better car, but the interior of this car is so much better
I guess we can finally say we're in the future y'all !!
Chrysler SRT steering on the prototype and driver side display as well... What's happening?
"That was no lag"... Lol well I think that's how electricity works
You used to review android in android authority channel and now i see u reviewing cars creating new channel WoW...
Competition is always welcome in the economy
Commercials be like: "Coming in at just $165,000, thats right! Only at $165,000!"
How much will be that beauty
Disappointed this video is blurry, mind you it's only 1080p and highly likely only 30Fps, cant wait for this channel to go 4K..
Seating capacity??
You all can thank Tesla for releasing their patents for all to use, and for that reason I will be supporting Tesla when I am able to
Hey Josh weren't you doing video reviews for android authority??
This car has been around tbh. I don't remember much but I remember hearing about lucid when I was a kid before tesla ever camed out and they made an artificial alien sound. Or am I mistaken this for another company??
